I'm usually playing football manager simulations, but I decided to try FIFA99 (I know it's a bit late for that, but anyway). I found that the game is a crap!
Heres's the list of things that are getting the game down:
amatuer mode is too easy - professional is too hard, the game is too fast, why you have to activate fint manually and with TWO buttons, why you have to DIVE to get a free kick, why you can't change pre-defined controls, the controls are placed on the keyboard the way you simply can't access them quickly, you can't play multiple seasons, there are no second leagues, Brazilian league is ABSOLUTLY UNREAL, there are no South American Cups.
In my opinion the game is not a football simulator. It simply doesn't simulate football!

If your'e still using just the q,w,s,d and keys, yes then prof mode is too hard, so I guess you need to start mastering the special moves, once your'e fluent with those you can even beat Brazil with Australia in World Class mode(I've done it, won 2-0).

I agree with you AlexJA about the cups. FIFA 99 lacks many of the best cups and teams to go after those cups. Even the World Cup is not included, which kinda sucks. But...but, FIFA 99 is the best football game ever. The AI is phenomenal, the graphics is amazing, the gameplay is never boring. Professional mode is a great mode to play in. There are realistic scores in this mode and it is terrifying when a defender is after you.

So, 3 cheers for FIFA 99!
