Fernandez 09-05-2003, 01:08:PM there is one thread for liverpool and arsenal and so why not?

Makelele might be going to United next season... (http://www.planetfootball.com/article.asp?id=145758&cpid=23&title=United+firm+up+Makelele+interest)
mohawk 09-05-2003, 02:19:PM I would like to see Ronaldinho here...I hear we are first in the queue although he would prefer to play in Italy....
Silverhawk 09-05-2003, 02:26:PM Man Utd are also tracking Gattuso.I'll kill them.Leave him at Milan
Silver_Boots 09-05-2003, 02:35:PM If Makaay was to leave Depor I would like him to go Man.utd cos they are my second fave team!:p

what a deadly combination...makaay and ruud...golden boot winners(possibly) and can develop a strike partnership for holland...
::Jason:: 09-05-2003, 07:26:PM I donīt quite see Makaay coming, but you can always hope...
playmate 09-05-2003, 08:36:PM a more realistic possibility is the other dutch, kluivert - he's been linked recently. so we could see a ruud-kluivert partnership may be.
makelele the most under-rated player in the madrid line-up of stars would be a great boost to our squad if it were to happen. i dunno what will happen to nicky butt then... he's rumoured to be unhappy currently.
m3th0d 09-05-2003, 08:49:PM i hope makaay comes *crosses fingers*
ryan_goal 09-05-2003, 10:02:PM Makelele isnt much younger than Keano, i think he's 29 already(if not older). if we are gonna sign him i'd rather stick with our old Roy.
btw...Kluivert i dont know what's wrong with him, he never showed the least intention to come to join Ruud:kader:
Yap Makelele is 30 i think. But he would be a good addition if he cost under Ģ8m. I really want to see a young, skillful Brazillian at ManU. Most perferably Ronaldinho. It would make United games soo much more interesting.
northstar 10-05-2003, 12:22:AM Kluivert or Recoba would be available.
tottiiii 10-05-2003, 12:32:AM Recoba would be a good addition, but Ronaldinho would be better cause he is younger....but man utd will get him if they decide they want him....hes to good and will be worth whatever money people are willing to pay for him
northstar 10-05-2003, 12:57:AM Ronaldinho will go to Italy I think because thats where he says he wants to play.
about Gattuso
http://www.soccerage.com/en/13/n1549.html
I didnt know his wife was a Scot, but at the same time if he left Italy he would risk his chances for national team play. Players that play outside of Italy rarely get the azzuri shirt.

if Gattuso could be a first team regular in manu, i dont see any reasons why he wont be called up. even if he's not in serie A.
mufc_daddy 10-05-2003, 01:55:AM I cant see Makelele coming to United as he is 30. If this was to happen Veron or Butt would leave.
Makaay would be great but i think Bayern are also going for him.
I heard that Man U bid 10mil for Ronaldinho the other day but PSG said they would only start to think about selling him if Man U bid a minimum of 15mil. Ronaldinho said he would want a share of that 15mil. Thats crap why would he want a share of it? He is rich already being a pro player! Plus he's sponsored by Nike.
Peter Kenyon was seen at a PSG game the other day but he didnt say anything apart from "We all saw what Ronaldinho did tonight"
I hope we get him.
Other targets could be
Kewell
Duff
Some American goalie....i think his first name is Thomas.
Mexes
Djibril Cisse (but Liverpool are tracking him too)
Rumours about Kluivert, but we will see after May 15th.
A few other goalies have been mentioned in transfer Rumours such as Cudicini, Robinson etc.
But so much bull*** is made up in papers so we r gonna gave to wait a few weeks before anything realistic happens.
tottiiii 10-05-2003, 01:57:AM do u mean tim howard from the metro stars....ive heard he was being looked at but im not sure about that at all
Bobby 10-05-2003, 01:59:AM Aye, Tim Howard, Ferguson probley wouldn't like him tho, as he seems like the rare Country over Club type. Great GK tho.
mufc_daddy 10-05-2003, 02:02:AM yeh thast him. I heard he's young and has a promising future.
Swerve 10-05-2003, 02:14:AM I personally don't rate Gattuso as he is simply a hard working midfield jobber, basically Phil Neville v.2.0. Makelele would be good, but if he is that old (too lazy to look), only a minimum bid would be worth while b/c that position requires alot of wear and tear (as seen by Keane) and he would last an even shorter time in England. But he is a good player (and it would hurt Madrid alot more than they realize I think, and that can only work in everybody else's favor). Kluivert would be pretty good, but he says that he is enjoying life at Barca and can't stop talking about Saviola's quality. Anyways, both are pretty much target men, and while Patty might be a bit more technical and able to drop off (Ruud is the better finisher), they are probably too similar to play together i.e.- Crespo and Batigol (not that it wouldn't work but...) . As stated previously Ronaldinho would prefer Italy (and probably Spain more so than England), but with Rivaldo supposedly struggling to adapt who knows (and what about Veron). So, realistically as much money as United have the options that are viable and would actually help are few. I still like Davids as last season he was linked with Roma so maybe all is not well at Juve (even though they are up there in the table), Shevchenko maybe even though he likes to come in from wide, Joaquin from Betis would be good as well, he is currently having contract issues.
FYI- MLS officials hate to let their premier players go anywhere (i.e.- McBride)
Nimreitz 10-05-2003, 03:41:AM I don't see Davids or Shevchenko going to your Devils, Davids just doesn't seem like he'll ever leave Juve because he IS that team. And Shevchenko won't leave Italy. He loves Italy, and is a citizen now i believe. Joaquin would be a great signing for you, but I think Betis value him too highly. Honestly, as much as I don't like United, I don't see many improvements that could realistically be made. They're solid in a lot of places. This team may not win the CL, but they can have England for 4 more years.
voetballiefhebb 10-05-2003, 03:45:AM United need to invest more in youth system. We had a wave of talent with Giggsy and Becks, and then since, O'Shea is the only good one to break through. I think United may look to Van Der Meyde. There again, I love him.
Defender would be the first priority though followed closely by a keeper.
Ya Recoba's a great player. Seems to have lost it recently after a wacky hair cut...

there might be a new breed of youngsters who won FA Youth Cup...
playmate 11-05-2003, 09:28:AM recently ronaldinho said he's uncertain about his future. he said he wants to play on the big stage and win titles and though he admires the spanish league the most for it being the most technical, that doesn't necessarily mean he'll play for a spanish team next season.
good news for man united may be.(H)
playmate 11-05-2003, 09:33:AM btw where do u guys think barthez will go if he were to leave manu? monaco prez rejected the rumours linking barthez to them and said they were happy with their two goalies.
Amika 11-05-2003, 09:34:AM maybe manchester city will buy barthez then...:p

that's not completely impossible especially since they should be looking for a new keeper once the legend retires.:)

i know that's why i wrote it just now.. but i heard that they are bidding for kahn... :o
playmate 11-05-2003, 09:57:AM kahn? yeah i heard the rumours but dunno if they have made any formal bid....
ryan_goal 11-05-2003, 04:08:PM City is ambitious:|
Nimreitz 11-05-2003, 07:50:PM A little too ambitious for my tastes. Kahn wouldn't leave for City, but it makes me consider the possibility of Kahn leaving one day, and that's not a good thought.

We, we, we, we had a wave of talent.
Tsk tsk tsk.
The truth betold.

he would prefer la Liga he said, he never talked about Serie A. He said that Spain is the best league for him, they have more technique than others.

that guy said that with a british heart, not a united heart:crazyboy:
antithesis 11-05-2003, 08:17:PM yeah right!
mufc_daddy 12-05-2003, 03:20:AM I think Barthez will be part of a swap deal for Ronaldinho (only if Ronaldinho wants to join United)
