Viduka has not said he wants to leave Leeds
Tottenham have held talks with the agent of Leeds United striker Mark Viduka.
Italian agent Andrea D'Amico revealed he met Spurs chairman Daniel Levy at White Hart Lane to discuss a move for the player.
But D'Amico suggested that the London club were likely to be outbid by bigger European clubs should the Australian decide to leave Elland Road.
D'Amico said: "At the moment it is only interest from Spurs, and there are a lot of clubs in Europe who are interested in Mark."
The 27-year-old cost Leeds £6m from Celtic in July 2000.
But D'Amico believes Spurs boss Glenn Hoddle, who is under huge pressure to bring a big name to the club, would not have to pay that much.
He said: "I think the transfer figure would be cheaper than before."
Viduka still has three years to run on his current contract.
Keep in mind Spurs were going to sign Morientes, Ballack, Ronaldo, Zidane, Pele and Moore. :D

If he goes anywhere he should not go 2 Spurs because he is better than that. I have always seen him playing for Roma one day, dont know why though.

LOL
This is about as likely as Beckham quitting international football. There are many other clubs that could use a striker like Viduka who are willing to pay much more that Spurs can.

Taken from Leeds Utd Home Page:
"LEEDS United have reacted with surprise to speculation in the London media that an agent representing Mark Viduka has held talks with Spurs.
It is claimed by Italian agent Andrea D'Amico that he has held talks with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy at White Hart Lane to discuss a move for the Aussie striker to the capital.
But United chairman Professor John McKenzie today said that no such talks had been sanctioned by Leeds United, and he would be concerned if such talks had taken place.
"We've had no approach for Mark Viduka from Spurs or any other club," said McKenzie.
"I am surprised to hear the claims of talks between an agent and Spurs because if this is true it would clearly constitute an illegal approach. Anyway, our position is that Mark Viduka is not for sale."
The striker, who became the first Leeds player to hit 20 goals in the Premiership this season, is under contract at Elland Road for another three seasons.
Leedsunited.com understands that if any talks have supposedly taken place, they would not have taken place this week, with Spurs and their chairman currently preparing for a friendly game in the U.S.A."
He aint goin anywhere yet.

Spurs are known for screwing up transfer deal aren't they? We almost got Salas, almost got Rivaldo, almost got Jesus. Just, at the last minute the deal fell trough..... Prolly will happen to Viduka as well.

Viduka to White Hart Lane?
What a waste of talent that would be.
I am sure there are many other clubs who are deserving of his great finishing skills.
SPURS ??? They are the most underachieving club in EPL IMO. Too bad if that happens. Hoddle sucks, he is responsible to have made the England NT went back five years behind during his national team manager days.

The local Evening Gazette up here in Middlesbrough have put forward Viduka as a potential summer deal for the Boro, not too sure though, Phillips will do :D
On Tottenham, Hoddle will be the first Premiership manager to get the chop next season and Venables will take charge now that Sugar's gone

I would like to see what Toppmoller could do in the EPL...
He has got to be quite good if he can lead a team like Bayer Leverkusen to a Champions League final, German Cup final and 2nd in the league(lost it on the last day last season).
Dont know what happened this time around though with Leverkusen fighting off relegation instead of for the Championship?
