The Eurovision Songfestival is probably the worst contest ever. Watching that show just makes me feel sick. "England, 12 points, England 12 punkte, Angleterre douze points" :kader:

The voting is a farce which makes it fun in a laughable way. I don't really mind Wogan, I liked it when he mocked the two swedish presenters 2(?) years ago, when the contest was held in Sweden:D

Britain don't really get that many points, it's the Germans who seem to rack up the points even though their song resemble something of what you would get if you mixed an 80's tune with Mozart and some German carnaval music, horrible!

i always watch it for a laugh. i wonder how daft the set is going to look this year. not only that, im also looking forward to hearing some of the more bizarre nations participating. some of the entries are three minutes of hell, while others are there so they can be laughed at. to me, thats the true spirit of eurovision.

and yes the commentator Wogan was whom i was trying to say he has been pulled off here in Australia - instead if you want to listern to him you have to wait the next week at midnight to watch him :p

Anyway its pretty obvious majority of neighbours vote for each other, however their seems to be a promotion - relegation type thing because, a few countries there last year will not be able to vote this year - I truely only watch it for a laugh, and you cannot laugh at it :p

I don't know if the majority votes for neighbours or not, but if a country puts in a great performance, they will then finish 1st. Example was Alsy from Russia 2 years ago with a song called "Solo", the only decent song in that competition from that year and i still don't understand how could Denmark beat her?

Come on guys we all know it's a big pile of sh!te...but it's a great time to get in a few beers and laugh at the supposedly best song of the particular countries...unfortunitly i'll miss it here in the U.S :(

Really, this show is so bad, so bad... My parents told me it made sense 25 years ago, when it was a hugely popular event in europe, something at the scale of a CL final or something. Now, it's just ridiculous, a warp hole to worst of the 70's.
It has everything: the grandiose ballads with the pompous orchestra, the trashy and retarded retro-disco beat with spacy suits included, the 80's euro-pop with boring and out of tune electric guitars on the background, the stupidly happy marypoppinesque tunes... And all this sung in languages you've never thought they existed!! :|

its the person that actually writes the song that has to be from that country as shown by estonia who had an estonian and a cuban singing for them two years ago

Also this year some dutch girl had entered to represent both/either UK or Holland. She didn't win the National Songfestival in England so she's not representing them but I dunno if she got to represent Holland...it's a bit odd this whole Eurovision crap.

but the vote is polliticaly as always. Greece takes 12 points from Cyprus and Cyprus from Greece and U.K didn't get any point because the song was *******,they didn't sing they speak and the war.But even if there wasn't war the song was ****

Yeah, they actually wanted to represent Germany, but then you said no, so they applied in Poland, and then Germany got back to them saying they could sing for Germany, but it was too late because they were already chosen for Poland :|

He said that next year he wants to sing for Germany though. Everyone judges him on looks, he looks like a really ****ed up child, but his music isn't really that bad. I actually quite liked the song they performed :S

-alf poier (AUT) was a waste of three minutes. i went into near apolexy because he got points. maybe he got those votes because all of europe was too drunk to think clearly.

-the portuguese representative (rita guerra) sucked as usual. she sounded like she had marbles in her mouth, especially during the english language part.

-was it just me, or did the german representative (lou--a woman, go facking figure) say "lets get gay" during her song? if it were gay as in t.A.T.u, i'll pass. on a totally unrelated note, they should have hired the man with the receding hairline that did the cowbells thing again.

-speaking of whom, i was glad that they didn't win. if they did, im pretty sure the lads at the ebu, ltv (host broadcaster), and svt (assisted ltv), would have put up a card that says "technical difficulites-please stand by", followed by the credits.

-the british reps (jemini) getting a big, fat, "nul points" was the high point of the evening.

-the lead singer of ich troje (POL) sounded like he smoked a whole carton of marlboro reds before he took the stage.

-stelios constantas (CYP) looked like a sex offender on stage.

-the bosnians screwing up their vote announcement was sheer class.

-the announcement of it being expanded to two nights next year means that we may have to put up with more of this excrement.

How good was Bosnia screwing up?? LOL they had to start again, I loved it. The Slovakian dude was funny as when he just walked off..unfortunately I was busy when the songs were being performed, I only saw the voting and Turkey sing for the second time..she was utter ****e! Ah well, good for a laugh..
