View Full Version : Some ideas...
jchristenson 16-05-2003, 12:06:AM Do you have some good ideas as to make this page even more attractive.
Personally I think the MOM awards could exclusively be shown here?
What else?
I think that we should get members on MZ to write articles on what they think of different features etc on the game. Do they agree or disagree with something or would they like to see something added to the game?
That way we can get people more involved with the site.
Bluecoaster 16-05-2003, 02:07:AM Some surveys would do some good...maybe an advanced version of the poll...also some interesting interveiws, but for that, we need more people...
How do you imagine the MoM award thingy on this page j? You've mentioned it a few times before, but I still don't see how it would be done, as ZoneAwards have their own page.

I think it needs its own site, but there should be a link to it on our site, along with links to other community sites (MZ USA etc)
Bluecoaster 16-05-2003, 09:45:AM And we could easily follow it with news, but I don't think that's what Johan meant when he said "exclusively".
Blue
Airdyaniodicani 16-05-2003, 12:56:PM Well we could start a section on the site to help people start thier own club website and maybe even supply them with web templates to help then , i could make them :)
Just a brief idea..
Bluecoaster 16-05-2003, 03:45:PM That's a great idea, but would you be ready to do it whenever? If not, it wouldn't work...
Blue
Airdyaniodicani 16-05-2003, 04:13:PM yeah , i'm ready whenever your ready
I think there'd need to be at least 5 templates that people can download.
Airdyaniodicani 16-05-2003, 08:10:PM yeah , or more ....i'd make different styles and colors etc ....
Bluecoaster 16-05-2003, 11:40:PM And you should be available for any questions about the site...if you really want to do it, I'll set up a page for you this weekend, or I could ask Matt if I could give you FTP access...but that b'stard never comes online :(

He's on MSN around 2am-5am GMT.
Right. You want some ideas? How about you change that bollocks foreign player policy? Do you know how wank it is? Answer: Very.
It is so biased towards the Swedes. Unbelievably biased in fact. It's disgusting.
3 foreign players only? That's ****ty MLS rules. You should be able to buy as many as you want, but only name 3 or 5 foreign players in the squad.
Verdict? Guilty as ****. That's one of the worst rules in a management sim. The MLS use it to boost America's football. The clubs suffer though, where as the nation gains. I could not give 2 hoots about England.
[/Pissed off Gareth rant over]
I think you should write an article about it and we can put it on the site.
voetballiefhebb 17-05-2003, 02:00:AM I think 300 of the 1000 words in the article would be blocked out by the swearing filter.
I may give it a go. No promises though. Depends if I sell any of my player. Pissed off with nobody buying. :f***:
voetballiefhebb 17-05-2003, 02:41:AM Just as Ash suggested:
How can we cut out cheating as a community?
Cheating will never be banished from games. There will always be cheats, either because; They can't get enough of the game, they are rubbish at the game, or because the rules are so tight, that they have to bend the rules slightly.
This leads me on to the reason of this article. How can we cut out cheating? Currently, players in some countries are short of money. At the end of the day, people have to bend the rules to get their fair share. At the moment, the game is unbelievably biased towards Swedes. I've had a couple of players in the English premiership who have said that the game is biased towards Swedes, I have been registered for around a month, and there must be some sort of fog between reality and the crew, because it's amazing how this rule has been kept in place, yet the constant whining at the forums about it.
What is happening is, the Swedes have an advantage. There are no where near as many good English players as there are Swedish, and when the big Englishman go up on the transfer list, the big clubs snap them up. The rich get richer, and the poor get poorer. Now we get people creating doubles, these could be seen as the "Robin Hoods" of MZ, they steal from the rich, and give to the poor. This could also be seen as creating a new account, and buying his other account players to give his main account more money.
Now, how do we stop this cheating? It's a bit like music. How would EMI stop music piracy? At the end of the day, records are too expensive, hence music piracy. The only way to cut it out is to reduce the price of records. So something has to be done to stop the cheating of the system. So how do we stop the cheating? Well it is simple. Stop the favouritism aimed towards the Swedish, and other big nations wth big name players, and scrap the 3 foreign players max rule. The MLS has this in real life, and it is to boost the states football. Now do MZ have this rule to boost such nations as ohhhh let's see, every nation except Sweden. I don't think so.
If MZ could scrap the maximum of 3 foreign players rule, and introduce a rule where you could buy as many as you want, but only name 3 or 5 players in the first team squad, or maybe after 1-2 seasons, they gain your nationality. That way, MZ would be a better place seeing as there are less cheats, who con their way to the top. Alternatively, we could divide it into continents like it is in real life, 3 non-continental players maximum in each squad.
Personally, I am all for the rules to be changed. I have to admit that cheating has crossed my mind more than once, have a laptop and another PC downstairs to fall back on, I would have to be very careful, however, I'm not a hypocrite. I would like to see the rules changed, but I have been pretty frustrated with this rule over the last 48 hours and it is starting to annoy me.
It is not just me who believes MZ's current policy on foreign players stinks, I see posts on it in the forums, yet they are ignored. Why have a suggestions forum if the suggestions are ignored? I want our voices to be heard, and I would like to see the rules changed.
Bluecoaster 17-05-2003, 05:25:AM I've got another idea, similar to the one aberdeen proposed...As I saw in the MZ forums, MANY people request a simple logo for their team, so if anybody good in graphics making (liam maybe?) would want to help them, it would boost our traffic...you know, they ask for a logo they want to put in their WFO...they tell what it has to be like, we accept or decline that and then make one for them...ofcourse, it would be better if more people worked on it, but it would be possible. What do you guys think?
Gareth, I'll put it on the site tommorow, great article
Blue
voetballiefhebb 17-05-2003, 06:13:AM That is an excellent idea. I have been thinking about changing my team name, however, I'm kind of reluctant to leave my Hammers.
A logo request would build up hits for sure.
I've been getting much better recently with graphics too, so I may even have a shot, I'm sure Liam would join in.
Bluecoaster 17-05-2003, 03:45:PM So that's one...I'd help if possible and IF I had time...I'm a busy fella, as all of you who have me on MSN know ;)
Blue
Airdyaniodicani 17-05-2003, 07:01:PM well i've made 3 templates all ready for the site .... and i'll work on more .... and for the logos you could just make a simple one ... i'll post an example later ...... anyone want a club badge ??? ,lol
Airdyaniodicani 17-05-2003, 07:21:PM heres a small example of a badge .... didn;t make it full size seeing as its just an example ...... i used Gareth's 'Happy Hammer' username as a club name , lol .......
it is as simple as that !!!
voetballiefhebb 17-05-2003, 07:22:PM I want a club name. I cannae think of anything.
Seeing as my name is Gareth, something like FC Orgazzm would be quite fitting.
I would probably be banned for the logo though. ;)
I think we should invite other people to write articles on Managerzone aswell.
voetballiefhebb 17-05-2003, 11:13:PM What so mine are not good enough? :f***:
To gain hits, you need to do competitions.
Ebonix 17-05-2003, 11:29:PM I'd love to do people club logos (H)

no its not anywhere near good enough :p lol, just kidding I thought it was great, but it would be interesting if someone wrote an article with the opposite opinion to yours.
Competitions would be good, with (if Johan agreed) a package for the prize, but it would have to be difficult to win, and not too often if there's a good prize (package Johan? ;) )
Bluecoaster 18-05-2003, 01:52:AM Good, I'll get to work, and I'll also give you newsposting access Liam, so that you can post anything...I'll do the site over the weekend...hopefully...if I get time :P
Then we need to advertise it a lil bit on MZ forums and there we go...we have our traffic :)
Blue
P.S I'll need your email Liam
I've got an article from wenlock on the MZ forums... the opposite view to HH's article. (well not exactly opposite, but a different way of solving the problem)
I think there should be a seperate article page which gives links to all the articles, so they have their own seperate area.

voetballiefhebb 19-05-2003, 11:17:PM A competition for a package would be great.
I would never get a credit card. It is a one way ticket to debt.
I think something will be needed like MZ team up with Wotsits. Collect 10 tokens on the back of a Wotsits packets and send in your tokens to gain a package. Some kind of promotion idea.
Either way, you need interviews and competitions.
