Gravy is excellent on chips, but red or even brown sauce does taste good every so often.
In Holland they put mayonaise on their chips (as you may already know from watching Pulp Fiction), it's ****ing disgusting.

Garlic Aioli.

Failing that, any one of vinegar, gravy or tartare sauce, if I am having fish with the chips.

Brown sauce is basically HP sauce, which is probably no help to you because they won't have that over there either. :D
It's like a vinegary/spicy tasting brown sauce......

Dude I think you might be thinking of American potato chips. I think this post refers to what you'd call fries. :)

Nothin beats curry sauce with chips from a chippy.

Gravy is nice with chips if you're having a pie or sausages with it...

For fish I have ketchup, but everything else there's HP sauce :)

Do not pollute the chips with sauce! :o They taste best with a sprinkle of salt and a bit of vinegar, that's it. Gravy :puke: ! Not on chips, they make 'em soggy. A bit of curry isn't too bad as long as it's not curried chips. But if you're having a curry and a bit of the sauce gets on your chips, if you have chips with a curry instead of rice or something, then that's okay. :D

I read somewhere that soaking your chips in vinegar kills off some of the fat. Vinegar is canny, mind you.

Sausage and chips, especially from a good chip shop. Lush. :D I prefer mine without a curry sauce mind, or any sauce at all.

You just don't have gravy with chips. Its one of the unwritten laws of monkee. Thou shalt not mix chips and gravy, or thine potato product shall become all mushy and yuck. It confuses the taste buds.
