So this means we will be able to create versions of the games like on Winning Eleven? :D
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but PES3 will NOT be on CDROM. How do I know? Look at PES and PES2. Those games were on DVD because of the different languages and commentaries for the European market.
I would prefer WE7 to be on DVD. Why? DVD games are easy on the PS2 laser than CD based games. I have burned my WE6FE game with patches on DVD. If you want to kill your PS2 fast, keep on playing CD based backup games. My version 3 PS2 died because I didn't know playing backup CD based games killed your PS2 laser. Listen to the laser when you played your WE6FE patched games.
If you have the money, get a modchip preferly a Messiah 2 Pro. THis wtill save you money in the long run because you don't want your PS2 dying playing CD based backups.

Do you think, if I got those Swap Disc, I could play DVD backups using the Knife Trick? 'coz I can't affort a modchip (+ i don't want no modchips installed on my ps2...)
? Thx,

You still need a non solder modchip to play DVD backups with the Swap disc. So it's pretty pointless. I rather spend the money and get a real modchip. It's one of those things that you have to do if you like playing KONAMI footies here in the States.

what about this:
alright.. here is my final report..
i copied madden 2003 DVD to an image file with prassi primo dvd (w/ update) using my DVD-ROM on my computer.
i copied it to a .gi file. i then copied the file to my 30gb harddrive (along with THPS4 & some other dvd images)
i took it over to my friends house, installed his sony dru500xa & my 30gb harddrive, installed the copy of recordnowmax that came with it, and located the .gi file on my 30gb harddrive, burned the disc.. i hooked up my ps2 to his entertainment system, booted up off my swap magic 2.0 dvd disc, flipped up the lid and popped in my madden 2003 backup, booted perfectly, played an entire game against the computer.. no problems at all.. i then took time doing some other **** he wanted for his dvd burner..
got home, hoooked up my ps2, booted up SM, popped in my madden 2k3 backup, and played a game online.. no problems at all.
people have complained of slower load times using dvd-r, i didnt any difference..
DRIVE USED: Sony DRU500XA
MEDIA USED: Memorex DVD-R Version 2.0 (2x speed)
PS2 VERSION: v7
RIPPED WITH: Prassi Primo DVD (w/ update)
BURNED WITH: RecordNow Max
Result: PERFECT!
to conclude this all, backups with swap magic discs, a fliptop lid, & dvd burned games work great (cd-r too).. time to go rent some games from blockbuster, and build up my ps2 collection. this flip top lid & swap magic discs was a very wise investment.. thankfully my friend has a dvd burner to make it all worth it.
here.... http://www.dvdrhelp.com/forum/archive/t141544.html
looks like the shlt would actually work without this non-solder modchip...
any ideas?

think this might work?
You will have to use the "Too many codes" trick. Load AR2v2 Select Action Replay Codes Highlight 'Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX2' Code (or any that has around 60 codes activated) press START press EJECT and insert Original-TOC-DVD and press EJECT to close wait 10 Seconds now press X on 'with Codes' and X once again Error-Message appears: 'Too many Codes' Original-TOC-DVD stops spinning Now press and hold eject to eject the tray and until the Reset button flashes orange. Swap the Original Dvd with the Dvd-r After 5 seconds the tray will close on its own press X to confirm Error-Message now press Circle twice to enter Mainmenu again choose 'START GAME', 'without Codes' and then X to start Codes are getting actualised and DVD-R boots
