View Full Version : Big day for US soccer
Caponedawg 08-06-2003, 12:17:AM The Home Depot Center opened today. It seats 27,000, has luxury lounges, locker rooms, 6 training fields, tennis courts, etc. This is big for the sport here in the states. Good thing is Dallas is planning on building an all-soccer facility too by 2005.

FIFAfreak 08-06-2003, 01:09:AM Where is this stadium? Looks pretty nice... The more soccer specific stadiums the better... follow the English, Dutch and German designs I say.

Where is this stadium? Carson, CA. That's in the L.A. area and it's like 5 miles from the Port of Los Angeles.
Bobby 08-06-2003, 01:13:AM It's in LA.
It's pretty nice.
ZamundaMan 08-06-2003, 01:43:AM now they gotta learn to play the sport (club wise)
Gareth 08-06-2003, 02:09:AM Nice looking venue.
A nice size too, not too big so that it is over big and not to small so that you can accomodate a reasonable crowd.
#1 Stunna 08-06-2003, 02:16:AM is that the stadium where Mexico is gonna play El Salvador this summer?
Run DMB 08-06-2003, 02:37:AM This is a huge step forward for US soccer. There are so many benefits of playing the game in a soccer-specific stadiums. Pitch size (notice how much more entertaining the game is on a large pitch?), atmosphere, no American football lines and markings EVER, real grass, etc. And what a tremendous stadium too: looks awesome, just at the right capacity (at least for now), a true state-of-the-art stadium.
This is a great day for US soccer.

The Dallas Burn stadium will be built in Frisco, Texas which is where I live and just about 20 minutes away from Dallas. I am probably going to be gone by then, but it will be a nice new stadium in a city that is growing very fast.
