Sorry, WE7 won't be coming out for the PC. ISS 3, which is also made by Konami though not as good as Winning Eleven, IS out for the PC so you might want to look for that game.

uhmm... if you read this forums you would have read this talked about before.. anyway... the deal is exclusive to anywhere but japan... although I think the gamecube version is supposed to come out a few months after the ps2 version in japan.

Errr...MGS2 is out on the PC. It has been reviewed and widely known about for months. I cannot see the connection here, apart from the fact that both games are from Konami. We are talking about WE7 - a game that has exclusivity with Sony, with NO reports anywhere that is it coming out on the PC.

Those scans are interesting though. But given the fact we don't speak Japanese it still doesn't prove anything. Could be that a PC magazine is previewing a Playstation game that is clearly very hotly anticipated in your country. I'll still believe it when i see it. For now, i am highly doubtful. I'm curious though, does this article give a date for a PC release??

Surely, between all of us we must know some Japanese speaking individual! Actually, let me email a friend of mine. He's totally not into the Konami games and stuff but he's got a Japanese wife and she can translate it for us.

Give me a few hours (or days if they're on freaking vacation). In the meantime, let's try and find some other Jap people to help us out here. If this is true, it's huge news! If it's only exclusive outside of Japan then obviously they can release it on the PC in Japan. That means we can edit the crap out of it too if it's on the PC.

Come on, find the Japs!!!

How fast does the guy read, lol? Surely he can just scan through it and just see if it's just an article on Winning Eleven or whether it's actually saying it's coming out for the PC! Maybe it's an article "something you PC losers won't ever see, ha ha!" or something like that.

Ok, after searching the MSN Worldwide Chats I found some willing (after some awkward introductions!) Chinese/English speaking people to translate for me.

Apparently the summary is that WE7 is coming out on the PS2 in August and the PC version....

"the Winning Eleven might be coming in December 2003 on the PC"

Then it gives some prices which I can't understand! It talks a little about Metal Gear Solid being popular on the PC in there too but that's a bit irrelevant.

I got this from two seperate people just to make sure.

Konami don't exactly release much information ahead of time though. Remember that a few months ago we knew nothing about WE7. ISS3 came out on the PC about 3 months after it was even first rumored.

I have just emailed a different source within Konami to comment on the PC Gamer article. He's part of the shareholders group who works with press releases in the Asian market. Konami USA and Konami Europe never seem to know anything so I thought I'd try elsewhere. If the game only comes out in Japan which is likely bearing in mind the exclusive contract outside of Japan with the WE/PES series then he'll have more knowledge about it.

Hope to hear back something soon.

Don't know if they were just talking worldwide though. It was a surprise that they released WE6:FE on the Gamecube as that happened really suddenly in gaming terms. Remember that ISS3 was in the World Soccer 2002 format on the PC in Japan for months with very little press over here. It's pretty much ISS3 but again, no news of it filtered over here.

I have a PS2 so I'll be getting it anyway but it is still open for the game to be released on PC in Japan only. There is no restrictive license within the Asian market for the release of the game on other platforms butl ike somebody else said, PC games are nowhere near as popular in the Asian market as they are in the rest of the world.

I guess we'll have to wait and see. I don't know if this other company "Gamenet" will be a better source of information than Konami who take forever to reply and then give away no information anyway. I will try to contact this Gamenet company and see what that might produce. Their website is http://www.gamenetasia.com/ I've just emailed them.

Having seen the piss poor conversion that is ISS3 though, i'd still be concerned the PC version of WE7 not be up to the standard it deserves, and certainly not be up to par with the gloss and presentation of FIFA - which no-one can deny (whatever they think of the gameplay) is pretty top notch. If they really want to steal some of FIFAs thunder then they're gonna have to step up a gear.

Actually ISS3 isn't a "piss-poor" conversion as the original on the PS2 is just as "piss-poor"!

They released World Soccer 2002 on the PC only in Japan so they do this kind of thing.

I’m interested to see WE sim on my PC (doesn’t matter – by port or by emul).

There are some threads that’s Konami is lazy ass, because they do slightly improvements and release the next new game. So, may be Konamy should make a HUGE bugs (like fifa did) and after fix it and again f.u.ck up something and to the endlessness.
And may be after that a little children will start complains and finally we’ll see … I hope next WE would be better I0

Unfortunately, there is no any official confirmations from Konami as for PC platform, except some kiddos, which are too clever by half.

I know its pretty big for most of us but too be honest I would prefer too play the game on my PS2, although, I wouldn't have trouble chipping my PC too play WE7 :confused:

The PC isn't really another platform... if you remember correctly the Grand Theft Auto series is exclusive to PS2 till 2004, yet it still comes out for PC ;) This could be very similar to the WE7 situation.

Good point.This news has me excited.I would like if it comes out for PC.That would mean patching would be much easier and less money on several CDs.But I think it would be better if it came out on PS2 only.Remember this game uses renderware and most of you guys will have to improve your PCs are buy new better ones.I have both so it does not bother me much.:D ;)

Yeah, I got something similar myself only the chicken was actually a goat and it was two sweater vests. Oh, and the train station was actually a brothel but other than that we got almost identical translations!

Everybody who has translated the piece have all used the key word "MIGHT" be coming out for the PC at the end of the year. I emailed this Gamenet company - no reply, Konami-Japan - no answer. No point emailing Konami-America/Europe as they always have exactly the same auto-respond crap "There are no official announcements regarding.... blah blah blah". Yeah, thanks!

It's looking like there are a few clues here and there that it might be released but then it might all be one big mistake. I hope it is released so I can get some of my non-PS2 owning friends to own a decent soccer game.

How many copies do you think FIFA will sell next year once WE7 is lose on the PC?

My PS2 is in great health, so is my PC and Xbox too.

But I cant help:kader: at u silly little kids who get all excited my some very unoficial news, go and ask the GameCube owners, they have been promised according to many websites including Gamefaqs, a PAL version of WE called Pro Evo 2002 for ages, and it carried more wait then this thread yet it has never materialized.
