MORE TO BE ADDED! :)

*NEW to “GAMEPLAY UPDATE” is an all-new game mode: “CHINA CHALLENGE”. A movie will be installed in your main FIFA 2002 directory, so check it out.

*Ball Physics – More realistic and playable, designed for the flow of the game and to increase excitement.

*Passing – Speeds not changed, but ball physics make it more realistic.

*Lobs & Crossing – Much more realistic, harder to go knocking the ball up and down the pitch to your players.

*Shooting – Much more realistic, more variation and fun. It’s harder to keep the shot down and get a good accurate shot at goal.

*Free Kicks – Much more balanced and better for power. The CPU scores more against you now.

*Goalkeepers – Much faster and reliable, fully tested.

*Game speed – Much more realistic, well paced.

*Set Pieces – More tactical, the 1,2 & 3 options are easier to reach their targets.

*Penalties – Harder to score past the goalkeepers and the power meter charges up much faster, so it’s harder to time the great top corner goals.

*Tackling – The tackling has changed to increase difficulty. Much more then before if you don’t touch the player/ball when making a challenge, then you won’t make contact.

*Spontaneous Tackles – CPU tackle quicker now and catch players’ off guard. They’re intelligence with their tackling is much better, especially when marking the player.

*Difficulty Modes – Amateur mode is harder then the last update’s World Class mode, expect competitive play.

*Fatigue system – Players’ get tired quicker, making it harder to sprint for long times.

*Pitch – Horizontally and vertically, the pitch has been increased.

*Power up – Power bar is faster and more realistic.

*Skill moves – Much harder to beat the CPU with skill moves.

*Sound – Sound streams edited to play longer/louder.

*Injuries/winded players’ – Players’ are more prone to injuries and to get winded.

*Fouls – A.I fouls more.

*Playability – Much more playable and enjoyable overall.

*Depth – More depth and creativity in the passing and shooting.

*A.I shooting – More realistic, good strikers will take further out shots.

*Off sides – More realistic timing.

*Defence – Very much improved, very noticeable.

Hey man,

Hmm, it's still the good old "TBC" I'm afraid. :( But it won't be too long. ;)

I guess there's just so much testing and tweaking...all for the better though. :)

Ok, I can tell you that it won't be no more then 2 weeks. :) I've gotten the game to be much more defensive and I'm tweaking these areas of the play. I'm also looking into the aggresivness of the CPU. :)

If anything comes up, like a bad bug or something that needs updating a lot, I will release some video footage of the realism I have being able to increase and implement into the game. :)

But I doubt I'll have to. Did I mention that I have once again updated the night game lighting? It's sooo much more real!!

Sounds like a whole new game...again!
BTW...still having a ton of fun with your latest game play. My good teams usually beat the bad teams rather handily...and struggle with the good teams...just as it should be. Had an astounding game the other night..Spain (my control, fresh off a 2-1 loss to Armenia (!?)) went down 3-1 to Greece 30 minutes in...Spain then scored SEVEN in the last hour to win 8-3. Raul then Diego Tristan absolutely tormented the poor Greek defenders and swooped in from the left all night...great grisly fun...certainly not typical. Haven't ever scored eight in a game playing six minute halves that's for sure. Don't worry, that was a VERY out of character game. Most games between decent teams are 1-0, 2-1 affairs. Great stuff.

Good on ya' Nick!
Keep up the good work!
Cheers,

SEVEN GOALS!! :o Man, even though as you say that game was a one off, I doubt my latest gameplay will allow that at all, as for one the shooting is muuuuch harder and takes a lot of practice...you really need to curl with my new shooting. :)

And my new update is more tight gameplay, more defensive and more tactical. You can pass better, but getting into good chances is harder and I really like that, in some cases I've powered up a shot only to be tackled, or to actually have the defender run in front of me and slide the ball away...they also block shots more too, which is much better.

I think this update will show just what FIFA 2002 is capable of in terms of gameplay and bringing out the excitment!! :D

Hello Nick and Mutiger my 2002 friends !
Sorry,I don't post so often these days.I have to use my wife`s laptop because my computer is out of use since 6 weeks. So I don't play Fifa2002 anymore at the moment. I'm gonna get a new PC in 2 weeks and I hope it will be possible for me to install and play my beloved game Otherwise it will be sad sad news for me ! I have spent countless hours in updating and customize it to my taste .Glad to hear that you're working on a new update Nick.I will try it for sure if I can.
Hey Mutiger ,did you try my "injuries " trick? Did it work ?

Cheers to both of you and the other 2002 addicted!

Hey Jomi!! Great to hear from you. :D

Indeed, you just have to play FIFA 2002, I'm really trying hard here and I believe this will be THE update that says it all. I think if I create anymore updates after this release then they won't be such a jump ahead, as there's only so much I can edit...saying that though my latest work plays like nothing I've ever created...it feels original and the games are more exciting. The CPU is also much more clever in front of goal, if you don't mark up the player and if he's a good striker he will take a long range shot and I've suffered quite a few goals from long range against the CPU, something that even FIFA 2003 doesn't offer!!!

Hey Jomi, what Internet connection do you have? I'm on Broadband and have managed to play FIFA 2002 on-line every now and again, but the player I played has gone and I don't know why...hope nothing bad happened to him! :o But I'd like to play on-line again soon.

I'm afraid that the crossing is going to need a lot more work then what I thought, so I'm going to create a little video showing whatever you want, I could show the shooting if you'd like, or maybe a whole 2-minute half of a match between some teams you can agree on? Either way, you'll get to see why I'm really pleased with my latest update and I hope to get everything just right before it's released. :)

Hi guys...
Nick...if you're into film making...the two minute half thing would be cool. Should be two pretty good teams...Real and ManU...something like that. And yea, the crossing has always been a bit touchy...so have at it.

Jomi...yes, you are a genius. Works every time. Hope to have you back in the community soon. We've got a young guy from Estonia who's putting up a 2002 website, so we can easily share our files.

Things are happening my friends...and though he's stopped making kits for 2003, I think JJ will still let us have his 2002 kits later in the summer when the sponsorships firm up...especially if we leave him alone about it. Also, Scottish Carson says he's going into the kit making by request biz. And as usual, I'm sitting on the sidelines here...shouting encouragement.

Lang leben FIFA 2002!
Cheers,
mutiger

hehe, right now I'm really gunning for FIFA 2004 new and videos, etc. Yes, the crossing has had work on it and is much better. I am now tweaking the shooting as it's a bit easy for power (not for accuracy). I'm working on the power and elevation of the shots.

I have also lobbed the keeper easily, so will look into this. :)

I WILL make a great update!! :D

Right, a movie is in production. It will be the first half of a 4 minute match, so it'll be round a 2 minute video. It will be played by me Man-u against the CPU Real Madrid on Amateur difficulty, simulation gameplay and I will be using a Sidewinder gamepad. :) The movie will feature a sound track by Marilyn Manson "Mobscene" (great song).

It will be of a good/high quality for the size of the video I intend on creating.

Expect more gameplay movies of this nature, probably based on the new shooting accuracy.

Nick.
