After reading that Article...seems to me that for once Perez is trying to be honest that last quote there sounded kind of powerful
"He [Raul] will be a Madrid player until the end of his football career"

If you were living in Spain you would know what happened during the celebration night, and then Florentino said the opposite to Raul

No I'm not in Madrid but I have my family, so yeah they told me quite a few things about it so I dont know........Perez I must admit is a sneaky bastard......Trading Raul for ANYBODY would be a major blow to Madridismo anywhere

KingPaulV
26-06-2003, 09:17:AM
That Fiorentino sure knows how to make his stars unhappy......Even Ronaldo a relative newcomer says he's gonna miss Del Bosque.......this could be the single biggest problem for Madrid next season. The players vs Perez and Valdano

Wait gotta get two more things in before I fall in the arms of sleep.........
here is the link to the incident mentioned by ricardo.....its in spanish but its mighty juicy http://www.marca.com/edicion/noticia/0,2458,311444,00.html

And then I read that Madrid might be trying to sign Milito from Independiente he's at about 6 million Euros, best central in Argentina not playing in Europe I think.

Fans would burn down the Bernabeau if Raul was sold/loaned away.

Think about this though.
Heirro the Spanish captain of RM was kicked out with little thanks for his great career.
Del Bosque the Spanish manager of RM is fired after winning 2 CL and 2 La Ligas in 4 years.

Morientes his Spanish partner sits on the bench at expense of the national team's form.

Guti, Portillo, Raul Bravo, etc.. are all Spanish friends that saw little action and started even less.

Then the team goes and gets Beckham, and player not really needed on the pitch.

We all ask WTF is going on at R. Madrid, dont you think at least some of their players are wondering too? La Liga is a great league, but it is not helping the Spannish national team as much as it should be.

I`ll be in dreamland if we got Raul . . . Honestly, I think he will end his career with Madrid. But it all depends on Valdano, hell, he can even give him to Barcelona if they want Saviola in their team . . . :kader:

Beckham going to Real is way different from Raul going to Man Utd, I really believe the Bernebeau would be burned to the ground if he was sold, the fans would go ballistic, it just won't happen, Real would never sell Raul even if they were having money probs, I bet u would see Zidane, Ronaldo, Figo, and Beckham leave b4 Raul got sold...

Just go use one of those translators........or I could try to translate as much as I can.....ok it takes a while but I am doing you all the favor:

"The celebration of the 29th La Liga title cost Hierro his head. It will be remembered as one of the saddest and more tense in the history of the white team. Bad tempers, and disgusted faces did not let the usual signs of joy to come out during that night. The news of the arrival of Beckham that week was the drop that overflowed a cup full of dissagrements betweens management and the players; a cup which almost overflowed during the last Supercup of Europe and that has lived the delicate moments of of the Solari, Morientes and Guti cases as well as those of the renovation of contract for Hierro and Del Bosque. But up until that night the relationship although cold had had respect, that night respect was out the window.

Everything started when the players refused to make a second lap of honor around the Bernabeu to continue the celebration. The cue for this 'escape' by the players was the prescense of the medion on the pitch. But they had it prepared. It was a protest against the club. Valdano, seing what was happening, goes down to the locker room to suggest to the players that they must go back out to the pitch. The captains refuse and a heated debate begins between the players and the athletic director, this argument makes its way into the media thanks to the 'invitation' made to a radio journalist to the door of the locker room. At that time during the cross fire there is talk of standing up the fans by not showing up to Las Cibeles and the acts of yesterday. Eventually the players come to mind and they make their way to the Fountain because of the fans. "

ALright I'm tired I'll do some more later today

One of the reasons for the talk about Raul, it seems that he absorb the bad habits from Hierro, and he was second leading the mutiny that is still going on against the firing of the coach.. Roberto Carlos also said they were going to write a pretty flamatory letter to the president demandind to hire del bosque back..

When will people learn that spending masses on your frontline won't guarantee you success if you're inept at the back

Go ahead and install a Euro printing machine in the Machester or Madrid club houses, buy any frontline you want, and it still ain't gonna amount to a hill of beans against a top defensive unit.
