I just bought a SOny DCR-TRV38 and it by far exceedng my expectations. i have figured out how to load still pictures on the computer and edit them but editing video or even VIEWING the video i hae shot it impossible for me to figure out. i have tryed everything..yes even using imesh and kazza to get video editing programs but i cant figure out how to view the damn footage ive gotten. i have a usb cable whihc i have connected from the camera to the comp and i have windows XP. SOny image mixer came with the camera and that has been useful with the still pics but not for the tapes. i have switched from off mode to VCR and camera and nothing is happening. someone please help, im become extremely frustrated.

Got no manual? Take a look over at Sony's web site and search for your product, you might be able to find out how to do it over there.

well i think i found the problem. but then another one arouse right after i was flying high off of my new discovery. for some reason the default setting in my camera for USB streaming, which took a while to find, was set as off. i have no idea why there would be any logical reason for it to be off because you cnt transfer video without it. weird. anyways, when i tried to view my footie with Ulead Media studio, which is complete garbage i must add, i got nothing but a blue screen with no sound after waiting about 20 minutes for my 5 mins of footie to download, and than render. i think the problem is that i didnt rewind the tape i shot to the very begining but im not sure. it takes to long to do so i will do it tommoro. anyone else have any problem like this or into shooting stuff? snowboarding or skating? anyone?

I have no problem doing it. I use Sony DVgate, and Sony DVDit.
