Ok, my current system is dying (natural death; V4 weak laser) and I'm thinking about getting a new PS2 :)
What should I get?
1) Normal PS2 + pre-order WE7
2) Pre-modded PS2 (DMS3 - the latest shlt) + pre-order WE7
I've got over $400 to spend on this shlt (don't ask me where I got the money from, I don't know!! :)) and I wanna hear what you people got to say :)

It depends from the prices in your country.For example here in Greece the games cost a lot of money and everybody have their consoles chiped.Of course the 2nd option will cost you more money but the games will be cheaper...I vote your second option.(H)

well, i can afford original games no problem but I wanna be able to play orginal WE7 import (and then MGS3, GT4 imports etc.) without swapping, etc. :p :p

why not mod if you can afford it?
The games are so f***cking expensive nowadays. 3 games is the price of 1 console. And most of the games arent worth playing more than 2 days. So my choice would have been easy. #2!!!!

Jumbo you sure you system is dying? I have a ps2 from the first day it was released here in the US and so does a friend, and there is no excuse for something going in it at this point in time. I had alot of disc read errors and kept thinking that my ps2 was breaking... but with a cd laser cleaner... all was well again :)

Well I don't know :) ;) Appears to be working w/o any problems. Hope it's not dying :)

Well £240 isn't too bad, unless you know of anywhere cheaper for the UK (H)
