I wish we had stadiums like this in fifa2000, they're very close to the pitch like they should be, in fifa2000 they're like a mile away.

hehe! Now they have to include Portugal...even if they use that fake kit

Check out picture #14! Hey, is it me or is that Joćo Pinto falling (AGAIN!) on the ground? Somebody give the guy a wheel chair... http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Will you buy the game? I'd love to have it, but it's kind of painful to waste more money on this.

Some things in the game are great, like the players, they are very realistic.
But the stadiums are crap, they don't look real at all!!they look like toys or something..I prefer the Fifa2000 stadiums.

The stadiums don't look bad to me... But the public seems to be flat again, or maybe it's just an option. Anyway the game looks much better, but I believe I'll save my good money to get me a 3d fx card.

Not for Fifa - you can't imagine how frustrating it is to drive an amazing NFS hot rod, with a great jerky scenery, at 320xwhatever resolution... w i t h j e r k y c o p s p u r....p u r....pursuing u s .

Talk about writing at the same time! 05:16 rulezzz!

They must the ghosts that visited EA's artists in their nightmares, punishing them for fifa2k (just kidding boys - looks better!)

Anyway, I'd rather play in a crapy stadium with good playability and nice players, than having turkeys hiting a ball in a great stadium!

your right about the players, game rod, they look great. All I hope is that the other stdiums in the game look better than the ones in the screenshots. If not.I'll probably buy the game anyway, with me living in Holland.

The pictures don't show any improvement in the field size. Maybe EA hasn't listened to us at all....

The stadiums look great and they're real, not like Fifa 2000.

The jerseys also look great http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif

Hey, remember in Road to France98 there was this French rooster featuring in the menus?

What about this time, do you think they'll use the Maeneken Piss and a Dutch windmill or something? http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

By the way, what's Euro2000 character?

still small pitch, who needs brilliant graphics when the gameplay is still stuck in this small pitch?
we don't know about the game's speed too, i bet it's faster http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/frown.gif

The game looks good. But the only thing better than FIFA 200 is the names on back of the shirt. I wonder what the commentary is like and options and features offer.

I think the graphics look awesome, EA are finally starting to listen. The players look real life as do the faces and have you noticed the hair cuts they look real too. The jerseys look great and just looking from the screen shots they have molded the shirts so that thay look ruffled, just like real shirts. Lets hope they slow down the game, include internet gameplay, give us different pitch sizes, straight shots\passes and outside of the foot passing shooting!!!!

Have you seen the keepers ??? They look great !! But the game looks like it's runing on a diferent 3d engine, i don't know if i like that, everything looks a bit like toys. I will buy the game anywaye, at the end i don't think ea is ever going to put Belgium stadiums in their games aggain and i do live in Belgium !

Well, this is certainly better than FIFA2k. But the size of the pitch is still to small... I'd rather save my money for FIFA 2001.

Soccer Fans

They have not stated that whether the pitch is made larger. How about the gamespeed? Is there only four special moves as before? Is there still no linesmen? Hence I am not so optimistic.

EA are making some good stuff by the looks of some of the pics...
But here's what I'm annoyed at...
KITS!!!
Why are EA using ******* fake kits for? If this is supposed to be an official Euro 2000 game then they should use the real, up to date kits of the teams in the game. If they are unsure about them, tell them to ask me - I did the Euro 2000 patch for FIFA 99 and I certainly know them!

And the home and away keeper kits thing - that sounds good...

By the way EA, just to let you know that the Welsh away kit is yellow! Don't screw this up or I'll go mad!

I read the press release and it looks like they aren't going to have the game so that you can play with the exact groups and exact teams that have been decided. What a bunch of motherf*cking crap!! I am sick of stuff like that. I want to play the tournament with the teams that are actually in the tournament not with teams who didn't make!!! That pisses me off. Why can't they just add those extra teams for people who want them. The way they have it, the tournament will never be realistic because they don't have the right god damn teams!!! They did that with the Champions League and UEFA Cup in Fifa2000, it sucks ARSE! Who agrees with me?

Drinky UKSN
08-03-2000, 09:15:PM
I'm told that you'll be able to play with the real groups and teams, but the teams that qualified are there so you can play from the start back in 1998 through to the Final in the Amsterdam Arena.

There is a 3d engine. So hopefully those of us with 3dfx cards will have very little problem with setup and such.

The jersey, well let's congratulate EAC for using 156 bits. But there probably won't be more than 64 jerseys. Unless they use all 8 bits. The jerseys will be somewhat suited for each team, like in FifaWC.

The pitch still looks auful. Don't start with the pitch size. That would cost a lot, they would have to get a new room to film in http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/wink.gif.

The crowd looks like a bunch of X-Men. Too animated.

Can't say the same about the actual player models. This time EAC has hit it right on.

As for rosters, they will mess skin colour up again. But not to worry, only to the most important players. This is so it will be easier for us to find them and edit them.

The players look much more fluent in these pictures. Not like in Fifa2k. Well these screenshots could be messed up, remember the early Fifa2k screenshots?

As far as stadiums go, the only thing I see is a little bit sharper graphics and better modeling. They somewhat remind me of the Fifa98 and FifaWC stadiums (I loved those).

I think that the playability will be somewhat improved. I have a hunch that EAC has been working on slowing the speed down, perhaps they might add a 'SLOW' button as opposed to just 'Normal', I think that Fifa2k gameplay is great but after an hour my head starts to spin.

About the cutscenes. Well they look better. I think that it will be like in Fifa99 and have cutscenes everywhere and lots of it. This is very crutial while on the pitch, if they keep playing the same video over and over it starts to lose it's feel of realism. I think that this time Motty will have much more to say. Since there are less names they can concentrate on more speaches and such.

The music, well we all know that EAC will put on the Backstreet Boys or thing in that nature. The menus will probably be more interesting. One of the features being the mascot.

I think it will be quite enjoyable. But there will be a lot of dissapointed people. Especially those outside of europe. People will always find something to rip about.

What are you saying? Some teams will not be in EURO 2000 game? that would surely not fly with the fans.

I mean you really have to be dumb to buy a EURO 2000 game which does not feature all the teams, or which does not set up the schedual exactly like in real life, which is what it was like in WC98.

SCF - Please accept my apologies. How stupid of me to think that the final would be held in the brand-new Amsterdam Arena, the biggest and most expensive in Holland, but would instead by held in the smaller De Kuip. What have the organisers been smoking?

Here is the state of play according to Drinky:

Euro 2000 looks like being FIFA 98:RTWC and World Cup 98 rolled together, where you have qualifying, the tournament itself, and the usual friendly and historical options. As for kits, there will be more than 150, according to EA, so if there are 51 teams, thats about right if you consider that each team has a Goalkeeper shirt, Home shirt and Away shirt, so that about adds up. It will probably play in exactly the same way as FIFA 2000, but slightly slower, and with the option to make it slower still or faster.
Music is usually something that has done well in the UK (Blur, Chumbawamba, Fatboy Slim, Robbie Williams) so start scanning the UK Top 40 and placing your bets :-)
It'll most probably be much better than FIFA 2000, much slicker, and a European dream come true. If fans in the US or South America watch the tournament and get engrossed, buy the game. I will.

Drinky,as a fact de Kuip is bigger than the ArenA and de Kuip is also a modern stadium, totally renovated in 1994,and well known as the stadium with the most atmosphere, something de ArenA doesn't have...

SCF

As I visit both stadiums regular I know De Kuip has the most atmosphere.and it's more a football stadium than De ArenA.
De Arena is good for concerts.
