Rzasa departs for Partizan
Thursday, 03 July 2003
Serbo-Montenegrin champions FK Partizan have signed Polish international defender Tomasz Rzasa on a free transfer from Dutch club Feyenoord.

Out of contract
Rzasa, 30, has agreed a one-year deal with the option of a two-year extension after his contract with Feyenoord ended. He will join coach Lothar Matthäus and the rest of the Partizan squad for pre-season training immediately.

European dream
The left-sided player said: "I know I have come to a well-known club. Partizan want to achieve success on the European stage and this is my dream too. I think we are heading into the right direction."

Dutch glory
Rzasa had been with Feyenoord since 1999. He won the Dutch Super Cup in his first season in Rotterdam and then the UEFA Cup in 2002. He previously played for Sokól Pniewy, TM Pniewy, Grasshopper-Club, FC Lugano, BSC Young Boys and De Graafschap.

Is there any Polish ppl that could tell me something about him ... If hes good or anything ? Thanks

well, I`ve seen him play here in Rotterdam for the last 4 years, and I think he wasn`t good enough to play at this level. He was always very clumsy, didn`t do the right things, but at the other side, he was a Uefa Cup winner at the leftback position.
I hope for him that he has a good time at Partizan, that he plays good and enough matches. :rockman:
But I think he will be a sub there.

by the way, I am not polish, I`m just from Rotterdam

I think he was a decent player with Feyenoord

I heard that Rzasa wasn't liked by Feyenoord fans.

Speaking of Polish transfers. Dawidowski went to Saturn Moskovskaya Oblast and Kuzba to Olympiacos. Kosowski could go to Kaiserslautern. Is Chalbinski going anywhere? What team did Kucharski leave to?

I'm lost.

Thomas was alright - but i only seen him in about 5 matches so I couldnt judge - he was a mediocre player.

I don't watch Eredivisie very often but I know he had some decent performances in Holland (e.g. the UEFA Cup final or vs PSV). He was also in Poland squad for the World Cup but didn't appear on the pitch (he was never regular player in the NT). I'm sure he'll strengthen your team.

Nootje, do you know anything about Smolarek, hasn't he recovered from his injury yet?

i can`t tell you much about smolarek, i saw him with the first training of feyenoord yesterday, but he wasn`t training along with the team
i think he will play in a month or 3 at his normal level.
these months are still for recovering. Oktober will be his month.
I hope so, it is a good player, and a nice person too!!
