I agree he is very fast and has good dribble but the others seem same to me.

I actually can't believe there are people on the BS forums that think Convey is a better player than Beas. Convey forces the issue way to much and should've put that chance away.

Convey if he is the one that had that very weak shot and has been playing poor then no he is not better then Beas. He hasnt done much in the match.

Sick dribble by DMB to set up Langdon. USA have had the majority of the chances, Paraguay actually should have equalised, but their dim witted player to slide the ball past Keller instead of going for the ULTRA easy lob...it would have been a sure goal if he had tried to lob it, as Kasey was WAY off his line...

DMB man of the match, good win, glad to see Reyna back.

Final score is usa 2-0 paraguy. I think usa had this game all coverd althou paraguay had there chances but had poor finishing as did the us but they had more chances and they put away there first chance as well. Overall i liked the game just they had bad finishing for some reason.

Yea very poor finishing. Paraguay should've had 3 goals, but poor finishing did them in. Then the USA should've had 4 goals but poor finishing did them in. Stewart made up for his. Kasey got his 30th career US cleansheet today. :rockman:

I was a boring game... Paraguay was looking terrible!!! It looked like that they are some kids from a playground. Americans did not show great game eder. Horeble shots on goal from USA side looked unprofecional. I happy for US, and they were much better than Paraguay.

Very good match for the US.

In midfield we linked up perfectly. Donovan did a good job of getting involved in the first half, dropping back in midfield, on the left wing and getting on to the end of through balls as well. He was our best player in the first half and was rewarded with a goal. In the second half Paraguay started playing better defense and closed him down, so he wasn't quite as dangerous. Beasley had a great game. Whether it was taking the ball away in defense, dribbling past clueless Paraguay defenders or sending in through passes into the box, he was on top of his game. It's scary how fast he's improving year-to-year, even month-to-month.

Mathis was mostly invisible, except for two long-range shots. This was due to the fact that we were attacking down the left for most of the first half, so he was a little isolated. Same thing with Stewart in the first half, but he did his best to get involved in the game anyway.

I'm still not sold on Convey. The guy runs a lot, helps out defensively - which is good. He can dribble well but he needs space to do it. He's not a player like Beasley who can have three defenders around him and still escape with the ball. Convey needs to be one-on-one with a defender and have lots of space around him. Then he can get past the defender easily, but that's the only way he can be dangerous on the dribble. He needs to work on shooting. He misses way too many scoring chances. As for his passing, I've seen better from him earlier this year (he was even taking corner kicks for the US at one point).

Mulrooney had a good game at d-mid but really didn't stand out. He's a decent player at NT level but we have two players - Mastroeni and Armas - who can do the same job better.

In defense, Vanney had a few shaky moments at left back. His delivery on CK's was OK. Hejduk showed that he has the speed - though not always the composure - to start at right back for the NT. Overall he had a very good game and was the better of the two outside backs.

In central defense, there were a few moments when we were exposed but overall Bocanegra did a solid job as usual. Gibbs is my kinda defender. Played very well today. He might not be Eddie Pope, but he's the next best thing we got right now in central defense. Keller was solid as usual.

Reyna looked very good out there. I would still rather see him come of the bench in the two group matches of the Gold Cup, then start him in the quarterfinals. Eddie Lewis made a bad mistake on a breakaway, he had so many good options it seemed impossible to screw up, but somehow he managed to that by running straight into the defender and losing the ball. However, he made up for it with an excellent cross for Beasley which DMB should have done better with.

Did Santa Cruz play for Paraguay?

Nope.
They could have definately used him though. Paraguay was gifted two Glaring opportunities that most anybody on earth would have done better with. Oh well. thats the breaks.

I just think the U.S. needs a class finisher and one or two class dribblers. Their finishing is at a highschool level and the only one that can dribble average are DONAVON AND BEASLEY. Every time the U.S. gets a 1 on 1 they loose the ball.

Another fan of the really fast player with absolutely no skill at all. Hes a good defender. Thats it. How many times did we attack down the right side? The answer is never if we actually wanted to go towards goal. Why? because that side is obviously weaker than that of the left. When you have four man backline, you need the fullbacks to contribute to the attack. And with Hejduk in the game that is never gonna happen. Unless you just love those crosses when he goes forward, only to cross the ball out over the endline.( I laughed out loud when he did that)

You could argue that he is our best option in the right back spot, but dont let that fool you. He still sucks.

You know, you dont have to be afraid to criticize someone who plays bad for the national team. A guy on the bs forums pointed out a great example. Bobby convey is gifted a ball in the area after some sweet touches from LD and Beasley only for him to piss all over his chance; what does the Crowd do? they start chanting his fvcking name like he Scored or something. I can understand support, but that was silly. I could have done as well as him on that play. These guys are professional and international at that, so to expect something better is not the same as blindly following and admiring a sh!t team.

Beas really did look average out there today with all his shake and bake moves :rolleyes: . You see how much the dynamics of this team changes when we have a guy with the service ability of Reyna. Donovan was more active today, after Arena bashed him publically like that.

And Keller is the keeper for the Gold Cup too, i have a good feeling about it.
