Their "world cup" is going on, and I dont know whats going on but Brasil play the US tomorrow...hopefully we can pull the upset!

I watch the US National team games, i don't follow the WUSA or W-League tho, i do check for my local women's teams results in the paper however.

The level of it in the US and Canada is pretty high, so we consider it a sport, i know the Aussie women are good too, don't know about other countries, but it's ok here in north america.

USA is currenty one of the top team in women soccer... it is a sport.. and the women world cup has been going on for sometimes now.. i remember usa is the current defending champion..

I got tickets to the womens World Cup. They have a couple games here in Philly. USA will probably dominate as always.

So China was ditched as the venue because of SARS?

Yea, a bunch of countrys wanted to host but the US showed the most interest i beleive. China keep their host spot, and host the next one.

it is sad but it is true.. china lost the host due to SARS.. but they will get to host it next term.. which suppose to be USA.. so it is only a swap

Sweden and Germany also have strong womens teams.

I went to the womens FA Cup final a few months ago with my girlfriend (Charlton vs Fulham). It was alrite but it had no atmosphere and the game was rather one sided. There were a few touchs of class here and there but thier game does need to improve here in England.

Usually the fittest team wins in womens soccer, CUZ NO ONE has touch...a crappy game it was, and blantantly missed chances from the US, then they score a lucky one....
I thought that that was a WC game, but it was just a friendly? When does the cup start?

I watched the Mexico vs Japan WC play off game and it was ok, nothing special though.

I was at the US v Brasil game (unfortunately). This was one ****ing pathetic game. Women are horrible at soccer and why there were over 15,000 people there is beyond me. My club team would beat the US Women's National Team, no doubt about it. Mia Hamm is absolute garbage, all she does is try very hard and makes some decent tackles. There were only two American players that are any good, Milbrett and Lilly.

Neither team could string together more than 2 passes and possession switched back and forth hundreds of times. Every single shot was weak. Both teams missed an OPEN GOAL, Brasil from six yards out blazed it over the bar while US rounded the keeper and then looped it over amazingly.

Brasil was dominating the game in the first half (if you can even call it that), while in the second half it was a little more US. Milbrett scored for the US in the 90th minute off a decent volley.

It's unfortunate that our local men's pro team draws about 1,000 on a good night because they are of real quality and champions of their division. Goes to show how little people here know about the game.

That was a friendly, WC is later.

My local men's team draws about 1,100...the women's counterpart gets 2-3,000. It is kinda messed up

I watched that game, it was some fast actioned dirty stuff, for goodness sake do women play dirty soccer, they also make some pretty nasty tackles, and they never STFU..... I had to turn on the mute when I tried watching that match..... ok, ok I actually turned it up to hear what they were saying:crazyboy: I swear I heard one player swear:D

of course it is a sport, and yes is played at a different speed... but so what? and why wouldnt you call it football..?? they still play the same sport..

why y'all hard at women for?? i don't really watch their games, but do u guys expect them to play like the man?? use ya heads, and some of y'all can play worse than them. enough of the hate, women can never play better than the men, so don't bring a high expectation when watching them, just relax and imagine them as the male version of 'their amateur days' .. few of them got skills though, and withing few years they will get better

No, compared to women's basketball with nasty manly buff women, women's soccer is much much better and easier on the eyes.

There are .00001% of ugly in women in Brasil's all of population, and they are aLL on that soccer team!

And what ticks me oof is that they dont play on grass....
I hope the WC wont be like that....shame on FIFA if they allow that!

well.. is nice to know that no matter to which I go, I'll still be playing the same game

Of course it is a sport... in Brazil we used to have championships but they were played for like 2 seasons... and then it disappeared due to lack of sponsors/money...
Brazilian national used to be a very decent side I guess they finished 4th in the last Olympics... (after Germany, USA and Denmark I guess...)

Brazil and USA played in that tournament but it was poor.... USA got the ball to the corner flag when they were winning 1-0 and kept it there... talk about lack of sportsmanship.........

I have no idea how the teams are now... but I believe they're not much better...

I believe you man, soccer chicks are fine, i was talking about nasty manly muscular women's basketball players they are repulsive.
