View Full Version : Network Adapter For PS2? Help needed!
Hugo-45-Viana 16-07-2003, 04:58:AM Hi, I know FIFA 2004 will support the online playing feature, but I have AOL DSL, and from what I've read it only works with 56K or a 10/100 something tethe something. Is there any way that the adapter can work with DSL??? Thanks in advance.:)
valioso 16-07-2003, 05:12:AM yes it should work fine with dsl... but aol.. thats a different story.. last I heard xbox live was having problems working with aol...
Hugo-45-Viana 16-07-2003, 05:18:AM Nevermind it'd work fine with mine as my DSL is a 10/100.
valioso 16-07-2003, 05:33:AM you're mixing things.. but yes.. it will work fine..

PhiLLer 16-07-2003, 03:00:PM As far as I'm aware PS2 online will only work for broadband connections....
And yes, AOHell could cause some problems for ya from what I've heard.
valioso 16-07-2003, 03:23:PM ps2 online works with both modems and broadband connections...
aol is a piece of crap and I know a bunch of people complained at my local eb store because it wouldnt work with xbox live.
I guess go into the store and ask for the ps2 online adapter..

Hugo-45-Viana 16-07-2003, 04:40:PM Yeah, but on AOL Broadband you don't get any problems on normal connection. Most of the problems with AOL are on the regular 56K version. I can't remember the last time there was an error with my modem involved on AOL, so I'm pretty sure I'll be fine.
And Recain, sometimes, you might want to keep your ass closed. :kader:

Hugo-45-Viana 17-07-2003, 10:48:PM Hey guys, I have another question. Is it possible for people who will use the Ps2 adapter to play against people who have the PC version of the game?
valioso 17-07-2003, 10:50:PM I dont know.. but damn if it wouldnt be a great idea...
jumbo 17-07-2003, 11:36:PM >>> AOL doesn't support PS2 Online [unless you pay extra $10 a month ].
>>> This is what you want: http://www.us.playstation.com/hardware/networkadaptor/SCPH-10281.asp
Ronaldoisagod9 17-07-2003, 11:41:PM It's fun reading your threads, because of the effort you put forth, when typing in English...funny stuff.
PS2 Network Adapter works with both 56k and firewall (Broadband/DSL/Network...basically, the fatter phone cord) connections. Only specific games determine whether or not you can play with 56k or not. For example, Socom is only playable with DSL/Broadband, however Madden 2003 can be played with 56k as well. It's a rich tapestry...
As for installation...It fits in the back of your PS2, by removing the expansion bay cover, and inserting the network adapter to fit accordingly. You then use a coin to fasten the two screws. And finally, pop in the installation disk, follow the simple directions, and boom...you're good to go!
