I've just been reading on soccerage that Middlesbrough are interested in Speed. I knew there was speculation of Speed leaving because he was refused a new 1 year contract becuase he was demanding to high a wage.

I hope he doesn't go to Middlesbrough and can maybe sort out some kind of new contract to stay at Newcastle.

Gary Speed is not good enough for the premiership anymore in my opinion.

hello he is good,wonder what makes you say he is not good enough.... middlesbrough, cant they get someone else outside tyneside..... first phillips,speed ... then who's next shearer? cant mcclaren be more nationwide....?

IMO he used to be good, but I dont think he is any more.

Phillips is from Wearside, not Tyneside, and in the past year, we've signed players from Bolton, Derby, Lens, Villa, Real Madrid and Celta Vigo...so to say that the Boro are a team who don't look outside the northeast is a bit narrow-minded

He's a great player who has served his club and country well and will continue to do know matter for who he plays for

i have only started watching premeirship after the world cup.... and i only read speculation from last season....so dun mind me...
