i've read alot about CM 4...good and bad. Is it worth shelling out $50 for CM 4, or should I spend only (only :rolleyes: ) $40 on CM 2001/2002. Or should I wait until 2003/2004?

Buy CM4 but try getting it second hand like me...I got my used copy from Amazon for £12 and it was in pristine condition...if I had paid the full whack, I think I would be a bit more pissed off at the number of bugs the game has but luckily I didn't:p.

Dont waste your time (and money) on this buggy game. Wait for the next CM!

Yes, wait a good number of months and get the new one. All the patches did improve the game trillion-fold, but that one will be even better :rolleyes:

I would definetly say wait for the next one.
I paid full whack for this CM and It has been a huge disappointment

I guess it will be ok. If you only d/l this one. But EP4 will not update your rosters. there was an EP that fixed the database related bug with players having very low Stamina, and another one that made some transfers, that were made this summer occur in the game too. I'm not sure, but if you have DSL or somethin faster it's better to d/l every EP!

yeah try Ebay. and if you want CM01/02 check on ebay people are selling their copies for as little as $5.

get a copy of cm 01-02 till the new one comes out! :D

although i love CM4, i don't think it's worth buying it now, because i have a feeling that the 03/04 version will be coming out sometime during the summer, ready for the new season - so i'd just sit tight for a few months and then get that version.

just some more things to think about

1) CM 01-02 now seems IMHO very poor (meaning bad, not cheap) in comparison to CM 4.

2) If you haven't played cm before (sorry if you have, just pointing this out as a possibility as you don't have 0102 :$) the lack of graphical stuff, and having to "imagine" what's going off has put many a person off the game...... so cm4 would be a better option

3) The bugs don't seem to have much of a bearing on my view of the game, and EP5 makes the game pretty much 100%

4) The next version of cm has not yet been scheduled, nor is CM 03/04 officially in production. it is possible that you might have to wait until 04/05 :S

yeah Parra is right about 03/04. if you go to the SI boards, SI have posted dozens of times stating 03/04 is not scheduled, and to be released for the 03/04 season, it would certainly need to be in production by now, so i don't think there will be one now.

i guess i can wait some more for a better game :rolleyes: i don't want to...it'll be tough...but i always have my 2001/2002 demo!! :rockman:

And comparing the game "out of the box" and with EP5 installed it has improved in lotta areas.

lol, 3 hours is a pretty decent time. It should work, after installing the game, double click on the EP5 thingy, and it should update the data.
