The first half of Liverpool's friendly against the Thai national team lasted for 60mins!!!

Houllier has said that he told the ref before the game that he wanted to make a lot of substitutions on 60mins and the ref thought that he'd requested that the 1st half last for 60mins.

How mad is that?!

The rules are the rules, and it doesn't matter if anyone requests that a half last for 60mins, 90mins, or whatever 45mins is how long a half should last +injury time (which is not 15mins). lol.

I wonder if FIFA will have a chat to the ref over interpretation of their rules. :D

At least it wasn't the 2nd half - and it was Fergie instead of Houllier!
I can imagine the headlines now...

liverpool think they boss....1 hour in a half..... they would have completed the frist half of extra time if played in a normal match...

To put this in the clearest possible way.

Houllier didnt boss the Ref into playing a first half containing 60 minutes. Houllier only wanted to make alot of substitutions at 60 minutes, not half time.

Therefore, the Referee does not know nor does he understand English. :D
