There has to be a way for EA to make realistic long range goals part of the game.

1. A players shooting attributes should be measured in terms of both accuracy and power like it used to be in WC 98 and even FIFA 99. Then only players with very high power or accuracy ratings will be capable of the long range goal.
2. There should be somekind of GK setting that allows him to be more aggresive in coming out for crosses etc. but risks being beat with a long shot. Conversely, if you do not want to risk the long goal you could chose to have your GK be more conservative in coming out. This should be a ingame management shot.
#. Even a good accurate shooter should only be able to beat the keeper with a long shot if the defense gives him space.
4. The attackers should miss the mark completely much more often (95% are on the frame...give me a break EA!), on the other hand a good, powerful shooter with space should have a chance to beat the keeper, oh...3-7% of the time depending on whether the keeper is playing conservative or aggressive in going out for crosses.
5. There should be a way to set up a long shot...maybe by taking the ball into the box and passing back to a monster foot like Roberto Carlos about 35-40 yds away ans with space for a fantastic GOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!!

What do you think????

I dont think 95 percent of shots go on goal I think its more like 70 percent, at least in games I played, but still it is probably too high I agree.

I dont think there should be a correlation between aggressiveness of gk and his susceptability to get beat long range(im thinking 25 to 35 meters here). However goals over 40 meters should only be possible if the keeper is off the line for some reason. And finally yes please bring back shot power and accuracy.

What do you think about chipping the goal keeper from long range or even from close range. At the moment chipping is a bit crap from close range and from long range it ism not possible http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

The best way to make a long goal is.....

When u have a freekick just outside the box, you pass it to a player standing close next to you, he passes it back and u shoot in the left/right corner, it depends on where the keeper is standing. If you take a freekick this way, there is a great chance that you wrongfoot the keeper. You can also have a bigger chance of success by making your striker really good and make the opposite keeper really crappy!
