There has to be a way for EA to make realistic long range goals part of the game.
1. A players shooting attributes should be measured in terms of both accuracy and power like it used to be in WC 98 and even FIFA 99. Then only players with very high power or accuracy ratings will be capable of the long range goal.
2. There should be somekind of GK setting that allows him to be more aggresive in coming out for crosses etc. but risks being beat with a long shot. Conversely, if you do not want to risk the long goal you could chose to have your GK be more conservative in coming out. This should be a ingame management shot.
#. Even a good accurate shooter should only be able to beat the keeper with a long shot if the defense gives him space.
4. The attackers should miss the mark completely much more often (95% are on the frame...give me a break EA!), on the other hand a good, powerful shooter with space should have a chance to beat the keeper, oh...3-7% of the time depending on whether the keeper is playing conservative or aggressive in going out for crosses.
5. There should be a way to set up a long shot...maybe by taking the ball into the box and passing back to a monster foot like Roberto Carlos about 35-40 yds away ans with space for a fantastic GOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!!
What do you think????
