According to the latest reports out of Germany, Chelsea have weighed in with the highest offer for Bayer Leverkusen's highly coveted Brazilian defender Lucio yet.

The World Cup winner himself substantiated the rumours but was also quoted as saying that he believes he will stay in Germany for at least another season.

Fueled by Roman Abramovic's millions, Chelski have purportedly made an initial offer of 20 million euros, which is two million more than Roma had accepted for him earlier this month. That transfer fell apart in the eleventh hour, however, due to the offensive-minded defenders wage demands.

Put it this way, everyone is linked with Chelsea.

Even Ruud is being linked with them now, but Kenyon has said he will not sell for any price. :)

IMO this should be Chelsea's number 1 player to go after... IMO they have a great chance to snap up Lucio after Bayer Lev's really dissappointing season....

no reason not to bid on Lucio....hes a world class player....although i think Chelsea's coach wants a world class midfield player as well as a striker

i dont see why they will go for another centre back. they already have three good ones

I think that there is no need for this player to be in.

lucio is great, desailly is old terry and gallas one of them will start probably terry along with lucio and johnson is too young and gallas is better than melchiot so probably gallas on the right back spot and bridge on the left.

Bayer will accept more than likely, since this is higher than Roma's accepted bid but the transfer was canceled.

Chelsea will get him. :o

Lucio is like one of my favourite players of all time! God I would love to see him at Chelsea!

we don't need another defender we've already got desailly, gallas, terry and huth in the centre and bridge, babayaro, johnson and melchiot to choose from as the full backs

only 4 can start from those 8

Terry, Gallas, Bridge, Johnson, Melchiot, Desailly, Babyaro etc - there isn't much better ;)
