View Full Version : What I HATE the most about FIFA 2000.
a_shearer 15-02-2000, 03:01:AM 1) Being assualted within the box and watching it slip past the blind AI ref. I fall flat on my face after having the legs ripped from under my striker, and it goes un-punished.
2) Having it snow every other match on "random" weather. Come On!
3) The speed!! I have never seen a football game go so quickly!
4) The fact that keepers consistenly save excellent shots from out of the box, but can't keep their hands around a simple header from 2 feet.
5) The crappy tackling!! For example, the last game I played was Newcastle v. Coventry.
Shearer got hold of the ball at midfield and ran down to the edge of the box before losing control. The ENTIRE way their was some wanker executing slide tackle after slide tackle trying to take him down! Ridiculous!
ISSS4EVER 15-02-2000, 03:34:AM Totally agree with you, I hate the way the ref calls the fouls at random, it should be like in a real match where if you dont hit the ball or tackle from behind it should be is foul.
And the way you can keep on tackling on and on is just stupid, it should cost you some time to get up from the tackle, also it should be harder to tackle, like having to aim for the direction of the tackle.
But EA is just too dumb to understand that.
Quiggy 15-02-2000, 06:01:AM yeppppppppppppppppppppppppppp
AJAX supporter 15-02-2000, 08:53:AM Yes, I find the saving all the difficult shots, and conceding all the easy ones very ridiculous too. I thought before Fifa 2000 was released that you were able to score long-range goals, I've done it maybe once, which is disappointing you can score so few times from way outside.
And when a players comes staright at the keeper, the keeper always makes this falling left or right motion to the ground, never to the feet of the player right?, anyway, the movements of the keeper and diving look very unrealistic to me.
And the goal celebrations I think look so pathetic, it is probably the smallest problem anyone cares about, but bowing for a player who just scored, I don't see in the real game.
Various Styles 15-02-2000, 10:40:AM This is what pisses Various Styles off. 1)No long range goals like in fifa 98 rtwc.2)Rosters dont come close to those of fifa 99 the road to ping pong footie. 3)No stadium select.4)PSX version has a reduction of customisable players and transfers by 50%.5)Brasilian league only has 8 teams.6)players celebrations are the stupdest ever.7)Consecutive tackles. 8)Biased referee.*** THIS COMPLAINING BULL IF EA DOES NOT GET THEIR DAMN GAME RIGHT IN THEIR NEXT SIX OR EIGHT VERSIONS OF FIFA IM NOT BUYING !!! my bum is on the couch,my bum is on the couch, look at me my bum is on the couch,my bum is on the screen,my bum is on the screen....
HNAFC 15-02-2000, 02:38:PM THE GAMES SPEED IS JUST RIGHT.
IF IT'S TOO SLOW YOU WILL ALWAYS GET A CHANCE TO SCORE.
WORSE THING IS THAT IT'S TOO EASY!!!!
THE PLAYSTATION'S VERSION OF FIFA2000 IS A LOT HARDER ON WORLD CLASS.
BUT IT'S 10X EASIER TO SCORE FROM A FREEKICK OR OUTSIDE THE BOX THAN THE PC VERSION.
northview 15-02-2000, 03:56:PM 'THE GAMES SPEED IS JUST RIGHT.

Don't agree! The game speed is unrealistically high, and is a very annoying factor unless you like ping-pong football. Part of the problem is that the pitch is too small relaltive to the speed of play, you can run across it from goals to goal with a fullback in a matter of seconds. Realistic? I think not. And your point about it being easy to score in slow speed mode: this is only true in Amateur mode (the only place where the AI is rather slow), and in that mode scoring is easy no matter what.
if u think fifa2000 is a good game then u know nothing about real football...
Canoe 15-02-2000, 09:00:PM Good points, but is it only me that's bothered by the obvious 'scripted' path the ball takes. Kick the ball towards touch and no matter where you are it will look like stopping just before but will always go just over before your player can get there. Same goes for the deadball line. Also, the way the ball travels through the air and your shots at goal are all predetermined(scripted, you have no control over it ).
gmartinz 15-02-2000, 09:39:PM I'm glad somebody else noticed that problem with the ball near the touch line. The pitch must have this huge crown, the ball just keeps rolling and rolling and rolling . . .
a_shearer 16-02-2000, 12:58:AM Game Speed just right!!??
I can understand your concern with a slower game making an easier game, but this would not be so if there were any skill moves except for spin in the game!
Of all the bloody moves to include, they picked SPIN! I have seen player do a fairy-twirl like that maybe twice in the Premiership.
Who do I have to hold for ransom until we get this game fixed!! :-)
F.B Forever 16-02-2000, 01:42:AM Hey Varios styles,
I don't wanna say this like i like F2k but
You can score long range goals
Various Styles 16-02-2000, 02:34:AM F.B FOREVER: NO NO NO NO,Various Styles has never and i mean never scored a Long Range goal, from right outside the box yes even a couple of inches away but NEVER from what Various Styles considers long range. This woulb be from almost midfield. In fifa 98 rtwc i used to shoot cannons from all types of angles and thouroughly enjoyed bombarding the enemy.Since fifa 99 the road to ping pong footie almost all realy long range shots go AUTOMATICALLY to the goal keepers hand.. I want funking long range goals.
BartLee 16-02-2000, 11:45:AM This is what I want in the next F2K:
1)about 25% slower gameplay
2)better skill moves (but ones that don't mean you have to hold down 10 different buttons)
3)less accurate shooting and headers, but be able to score now and again from long range (30-40m)
Vasco 16-02-2000, 07:23:PM COME ON PEOPLE LETS NOT TALK ABOUT THIS GAME ANYMORE ITS NOT WORTH IT, ITS THE WORST FOOTBALL GAME EVER MADE BY EA SPORTS
DirkDiggler 16-02-2000, 08:05:PM The problem I have is with the attacks. You can have your team on ultra super aggresive and yet your midfielders almost never go into the opps box or score and defense absolutely never make runs.
ruger 17-02-2000, 12:47:AM 1. Speed. It's slower than FIFA 99, but still too fast.
2. Too much obvious scripting. Sometimes my player will look at the ball for a few seconds like a retard, while CPU has pre-determined that AI player should have possession. It actually feels like there's some sort of a "force field" around the ball
3. Team Management. The worst ever. No player positioning option, like in FIFA 98 and 99.
4. Fatigue. After sprinting the whole match, fatigue never drops below 75%, contributing to the PING PONG pace.
5. MUSIC and COMMENTARY
6. Classic mode colors...Good idea, in theory, but in real life plain UGLY!!!
7. ONE OFFICIAL patch from EA?!?!? what a joke...
8. NO INTERNET PLAY!!!
Having said all that, I have to add, that graphics are GREAT (if you have the right hardware), multiplayer mode is very stable comparing to FIFA 98 and 99
cruzazul#1 17-02-2000, 07:10:PM Hey guys!!! reduce all the player's speed to 1 in any league that you want and you'll see the difference that you're talking about, and play the game in either professional or world class.
