View Full Version : Australian Soccer Kicks Ass Aussie Soccer 12-11-1999, 06:09:AM They should have a australian soccer league in fifa 2000. who agrees with me??? gmartinz 12-11-1999, 06:15:AM Australian women kick ass; Australian beer kicks ass; Australian animals kick ass; Australian sharks kick ass; Australian aborigine kick ass; Australian Rules Football kicks ass; Australian life guards kick ass. Australian soccer DOES NOT kick ass. Sorry. Ric 12-11-1999, 06:47:AM Don't forget Crocidile Dundee... He was Australian and he kicked ass. squiers 12-11-1999, 08:11:AM if poor old leeds united decides to release kewell than australia would beat brazil. Definately the b grade team thier sending. GROBAR_OTAGO 12-11-1999, 08:41:AM Hey, What about Mike Whitney of Who Dares wins he kicks ass, and Frontline kicks ass too. But I dont agree with ya, the Yugoslav league is 5x what the NSL is(however every league could have been included), mind you I love watching the NSL there are allways lots of action and it's not boring to look at like the english league. Stephen 12-11-1999, 09:24:AM Aussie Rules certainly does kick ass, go the pies. NSL sucks, good to see cosmos on the move though. socceroos kick ass, See you in japan 2002. Stephen alfiee 12-11-1999, 09:57:AM the wallabies kick ass Fluffy 12-11-1999, 10:42:AM Their Rugby team kicks everyones donkey. Marc Viduka kicks donkey. Neighbours kicks all donkeys!!!! galah 12-11-1999, 11:40:AM Australian leagues should be in fifa 2000. EA Pickup your act. I'll kick all your Ass's. Aussie Ausie Aussie, Oih,Oih Oih! Forgot the rest, I'm pissed! Ronaldinho Gaucho 12-11-1999, 02:37:PM Hey squiers dude...Australia will never quick Brazil's ass no matter how good of a player that Kewel guy is...he might even be a very descent player but he will not be able to beat Brazil by himself...besides we've got a lot of good players and you guys are lucky because Ronaldo won't play against Australia...but Ronaldinho will and so is Elber, Savio, Roberto Carlos, Cafu, Amoroso, Fabio Junior, Rivaldo etc...Need I say more? I don't think that Kewel is all that good anyways...Australia will get trashed by Brazil in their own backward....so all you can do is sit back and watch the show...our show as usual... http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif AWASINAM 12-11-1999, 02:59:PM i think australia r a much improved team but they r still not international level. Brazil will easily beat australia. i think u should calm down being pissed after australia win rugby and cricket. in 5-10 years time may reach international level. Harry kewel is a very gifted player and is easily the most skillful at leeds. maybe with 9 more Harry kewels + goalie australia will be in next world cup. I bet Harry kewel wishes other australian players were as good as him. i hope australia can improve more and qualify for next world cup. it will be nice to see them with the bigboys because then there's one less team to worry about. Ronaldinho Gaucho 12-11-1999, 03:14:PM I wasn't pissed I just think that the stattement that your australian fellow made was very unrealistic...even though Brazil is going to play with their under 21 team...gifted Kewel...he might be gifted but he is not as good as Ronaldinho or Fabio Junior...they're both going to play against Australia... AWASINAM 12-11-1999, 04:29:PM i am not australian and i was reffering to gala that he was pissed. as for comparing kewel with Ronaldinho and Fabio Junior. its pretty obvious that the Brazilians r much better. i support inter milan and one of the reasons i support them was that they have Ronaldo. he is easily the most skilful player in the world. Rivaldo isn't far behind at moment brazil r best team in the world and probably always will be. as for australia v brazil. this should be an interesting but unfair contest. i think brazil should give australia a head start of 3 goals brazil would probably still win. even though i support inter i still would have liked him to play for brazil.do u get to watch the match live. if so i hope u enjoy. AWASINAM 12-11-1999, 04:35:PM i was talking about ronaldo at the end. he has been called up by inter but i think the brazilian coach is being unreasonable. inter have let him play one match of 2 for brazil. brazil coach says 2 or 0. it would be better if ronaldo was playing but at least it gives a chance for other talent to shine, like ronaldinho gaucho. Ronaldinho Gaucho 12-11-1999, 09:54:PM Yeah man he is not going to play against Australia and I also think that Australia won't stand a chance against....I think that Brazil should only play against team that are on their level like England, Argentina, Holland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Croatia, Yugolasvia, France...etc...I don't think they should waste their players energy against Australia.... [This message has been edited by Ronaldinho Gaucho (edited 11-12-1999).] Ronaldinho Gaucho 12-11-1999, 09:58:PM No man I won't get to watch Brazil X Australia....I live in Canada and Canada sucks at soccer so they don't put that many games on tv...I agree with you I don't think that Australia will stand a chance against Brazil....one game that I really want to watch is Brazil X Spain....that will a great game to watch....where are you from? athenafreak 12-11-1999, 11:01:PM Iranians kicked soccerroos butt. :-) I just had to remind you guys of Iran and how they eliminated you guys from WQ 78 and WQ98 GoldenGoal 13-11-1999, 01:11:AM Even without Kewell, Australia is easily a match for this Brazilian team. Mark Bosnich (Manchester United) Mark Viduka (Celtic) Craig Moore (Rangers) Tony Vidmar (Rangers) Ned Zelic (1860 Munich) Paul Okon (Fiorentina) are just some of Australia's talented players. Brazil will find it very difficult to win this series. Don't forget to send your regards to me after the series. Inter Milan USA 13-11-1999, 06:58:AM hey, I am an american that likes Aussie Rules, the Essendon Bombers is my favorite team. I am bummed they didnt show any AFL in the USA this year, not even the grand Final! I baught AFL'99 but I was a little disappointed with the game GROBAR_OTAGO 13-11-1999, 07:39:AM Wait, I've changed my mind I think some aussie teams should be in the rest of the world section teams such as Sidney Olympic, South Mel, wollongong, and of-cours the KINGZ. P.S inter USA, did you see the new EA rugby game RUGBY2000, looks sweet! and a few more to the australian kick ass list: Glen Lazurus, Tanya(fron who dares wins), amd that old guy from Home and Away GOONERBHOY 13-11-1999, 08:27:AM One name, HARRY KEWELL, remember it because within the next season or two he will be the centre of the football world.A hard worker, great skilled and great finishing talent!!!!!!!!!!!! Inter Milan USA 13-11-1999, 08:48:AM Grobar Otago, I havnt gotten to see much on Rugby 2000, do you know any web addresses about the game? I do wish they would include leagues on there and not just national teams, I would love to play out the Super 12 http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/biggrin.gif maybe they could have a rugby league and a rugby union mode as well GROBAR_OTAGO 13-11-1999, 08:53:AM Sorry Mate, looks like only the RWC teams are on the game. And by the way St.Kilda are my favurite AFL team Stephen 13-11-1999, 09:54:AM You Idiot's. The socceroos are very underrated, and did not loose any qualifying games for wc98. They lost on the away goals rule against Iran. Australia would have performed better than Iran and USA in group G at France 98. Terry Venables is lousy coach anyway, fancy not shutting up shop when the socceroos were 2-0 up. Australian Rules is the no1 football game in Australia. Rugby Union and Rugby League don't come close. They play it in the QLD, NSW and some team won it from Melbourne this year. Stephen Down Under 13-11-1999, 03:32:PM Firstly, Kewell nor Ronaldo are playing in the series, which will allow the other players from both countries to shine. Both games , in Sydney and Melbourne, are now free tickets so i advise all Aussies in these cities to come along and show your support for Australia. Australia is a very underated soccer team, and we were unlucky to not qualify for WC98. We lost no qualifying games and lost on aways goals. I was at the second leg in Melbourne and was extremely dissapointed with the result. It was a great match and the atmosphere was fantastic. I hope this series can match it! This will be no walkover for Brazil, Australia will put up a good fight, showcasing the typical Aussie spirit. Beware the thunder from down under!!! Inter Milan USA 14-11-1999, 10:26:AM Grobar, since all the RWC teams will be on the game, that means the USA will be on the game http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/biggrin.gif I bet just a small handfull of the people here actually knew that the USA was in the Rugby World Cup anyway, I hope there are some patches for Rugby 2000 like a Super 12 patch but there are probably very few patches for those games, AFL 99 only had one are there any Super 12 PC games on the market out there in New Zealand? ZZUB 14-11-1999, 08:29:PM There is no super 12 pc game down here in new Zealand sorry, also sadly EAsports have decided to use Clive Woodward as a consultant for the rugby 2000 game. I hate to think of how poor the gameplay will be. Nice to see the Aussie under17 soccer team beat germany yesterday, with New Zealand out of the youth world cup as far as this kiwi is concerned its " Gooooooo Ausssiieeeeeesssss" Mike AWASINAM 15-11-1999, 04:26:PM Re:Ronaldo Gaucho i am from Birmingham,England.Where are u from in Canada? what do u think the score will be in the second came between australia and brazil? AWASINAM 15-11-1999, 04:27:PM when r brazil playing spain? Ronaldinho Gaucho 15-11-1999, 10:08:PM I'm from Cambridge Ontario...I think Brazil will easily beat Australia now that they already know how they play football? They try to kick as many players as they can...you know what is their coach favourite saying? "GET THE PLAYERS FORGET ABOUT THE BALL"...Sad huh? Well hopefully they'll play the ball instead of the player's legs next time....good thing they had a good goalie otherwise the score wouldn't be so low....I would say that brazil will win the next game by a score of 5 X 0.... System Of An Up 16-11-1999, 01:52:AM I was just curious...how come there are so many people in Australia of Eastern European descent? Lazaridis, Ned Zelic, Bosnich, etc. Was there a mass imigration there or something? GROBAR_OTAGO 16-11-1999, 03:39:AM Lots of eastern european(mainly greek, serb and croat) came to aussie after WW1 and WW2, infact there are around 90 000 serbs in Melbourne alone Moe 16-11-1999, 04:19:AM THe NSL should be in Fifa2k. THere should at least be a patch. There's a patch for the Irish league isn't there? Australia tied both games with Iran They didn't kick our butt. Brisbane strikers are going to win the nsl this year. They're still undefeated GOONERBHOY 16-11-1999, 11:58:AM Yeah the Strikers will win! What a great nation: World Champions of: RUGBY CRICKET LEAGUE SWIMMING NETBALL BASEBALL It`s a shame that this nation is`t at the top of the only sport that matters! Instead, after watching the brizil game, i now believe that this nation has the most Disgusting, dirty and unsporting team - really made me ashamed to live in this country. Up the Celt`s Come on Scotland Kewell the Jewell 17-11-1999, 11:52:AM HEy Ronaldo Gaucho!!! What the hell are you on about!?!?! Australia plays the game hard and if it gets to hard for you little wussy brazilians tehn so be it! but stop complaining about every time a player touches your legs and you go down crying!!!!!! im not saying that australia is better than brazil because we are not but dont say that we are unfair because we dont. Ronaldinho Gaucho 17-11-1999, 02:24:PM Yeah whatever man....that wasn't playing hard that was playing dirty...your players figured that Australia could never stand a chance against our team playing a fair football so you guys had to figure a way to stop us and what a better way to do it than the old "beat"...and by the way I have a question...Is Australia playing with their under 21 team or are they playing with their best team? By the way of course you don't think that Australia is a better football team cuz if you did you would be insane to do so.... Italy82 17-11-1999, 03:04:PM People who think Brazil is the best soccer team ,your are all dead wrong ,Since their win in WC 94 ,Brazil really softend up .Many underrated teams beat Brazil ,example USA beat Brazil last year .So anything can happen in the match Australia-Brazil. SwarthyEnglishman 17-11-1999, 05:03:PM Sorry, Italy82, no. Brazil still leads the second place team in the FIFA rankings by 60 points. A team that has waned cannot increase its lead (for example, France, which has dropped to third in a shocking point loss). Ronaldo will not be playing, so Australia will not get trounced as heavily, but I will call to the attention of those who think that Australian soccer is the best: Australia is ranked 74th. They did not even make WC 98. Where are they going to end up against a team that went to the finals of WC 98? Australia was eliminated by a novice team, Iran. The US veteran team was good, and it is almost conceivable that they could beat the squad that the Brazilians put forth. The US squad we saw in WC 98 was not the team that had played in the preliminaries. Aussie Soccer 18-11-1999, 12:10:AM australia almost beat brazil last night so stick that up your ass for whoever said that brazil would smash australia. if we hadn't of let in two late goals we would of won 2 nil except we slackened off in the last 15 minutes to only get a 2-2 result GOONERBHOY 18-11-1999, 03:20:AM Hmmm, two goals up suddenly it`s 2 all, bring back any memmories? No less than Australia disearved after that disgusting display of fouling in game 1. SCOTLAND 1 ENGLAND 0 GET THAT UP YA!! edu 18-11-1999, 04:10:AM Aussie What about australias hand goal? And did you look a brazil line up, I didnt know half of the players. And the stupid coach decided not to start with ronaldinho. Trojan 18-11-1999, 04:30:AM GOONERBHOY you verbose Scottish bastard !!! http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/wink.gif http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/wink.gif How can you talk this trash, whilst living in this country for one. And secondly you are a Celtic fan, and you profit very well out of Australian football with one Mark Viduka providing many of your goals. I don't see you commenting on the Brazilians piss poor behaviour whenb they were down 2-0 in the second game and they started throwing tantrums at the ref and throwing the ball at Australian players like little kids??? Actually having attended the second match I'd have to say it was an excellent game played at a high standard. The Aussies and in particular Viduka dominated most of the game. It was only some poorly timed and illogical substitutions made by the Aussies that let the Brazilians back in. With a match attendance on 80,000, the Brazilian drummers and dancers going off and flares smoking in the stands after Australia scored their second goal... it was an awesome moment. Aussie Soccer 18-11-1999, 06:10:AM well said trojan Mark 18-11-1999, 06:16:AM Yeah, but couldn't he just have said "verbose bastard"? A small point but a point none the less. Trojan 18-11-1999, 06:40:AM More humorous with the Scottish tag as we are talking of international banter. No offence meant to Scotland or it's people Mark. Hell I have enough of thier blood in me. No offence to any ethnicity, or nationality, just sticking up for OZ !!! [This message has been edited by Trojan (edited 11-18-1999).] Mark 18-11-1999, 06:56:AM Fair enough Trojan. I wasn't having a go it's just that I've seen so many dumb arguements start that way on this forum I reckon it's best to stay well away from all that. I should have known better. Anyway as an ex-pat Scot and an Aussie citizen I'll just end by saying..... Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi Regards. Trojan 18-11-1999, 07:31:AM No worries Mark, I know what you mean... I was kinda hoping that the double winks would indicate that I was just taking the piss. I find GOONEREBHOY a laugh with his headstrong posts. He hopefully should't take offence at what is a little joke at the start of a heart felt message. I'm sure he'll show us whats under his kilt!!! And well done Scotland for showing the auld enemy that you can play football. Aussie Soccer 19-11-1999, 06:22:AM Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi Aussie Oi Aussie Oi Aussie Aussie Aussie Oi Oi Oi Kewell the Jewell 19-11-1999, 11:11:AM Why isnt that stoopid Ronaldo Gaucho guy answering now!?!? 2-2 not good enuff for him???? Ronaldinho Gaucho 19-11-1999, 02:29:PM Hey you Kewel guy...I haven't answered you guys cuz I was studing for my mid-term exams and I didn't have that much time to come check the posts anymore...hey 2-2 wasn't that bad for Australia I agree but weren't you guys playing with your best team? I were only playing with our under 23 team so we didn't have the best players out there....a lot of players were left out...so I guess 1-1 (WIN AND A TIE) is not that bad considering that you guys were playing at home...now let's see what's the score is going to be when you guys come down to Brazil....Hey and what else can I say? S.H.I.T happens.... P.S.: What's with the name calling? Aussie Soccer 20-11-1999, 03:02:AM hey Ronaldo Gaucho australia didn't have their best squad either. we didn't have bosnich, kewell, or Ned Zelic after he went home. if we had of had our best squad we would of beat brazil the other night ZZUB 20-11-1999, 09:25:PM Kiwi here I hope you guys in Aussie are aware of how brilliantly your under 17 team is doing in the youth world cup over here. You play Qatar today in the quarter finals after having beaten the Germans deservedly in the pool matches. If your lads win this they will be playing the USA in a semi final. The yanks are a good team but dont concentrate for the full 90 minutes. Nobody has noticed your team in the media here but Im hoping you buggers can do it, I think you have good enough players and team structure to do it. Weird really for a kiwi to be cheering for you Aussies in the sports arena but Oceania needs your kids to do well. The Kiwi lads have slowly moved up a notch in ability with our win over Poland. With the Kingz playing in your national league it adds another layer of strength to football downunder. Come on Aussie under 17's. You guys are in with a chance of winning the youth World cup. man what a sports year you buggers are having Mike Kewell the Jewell 21-11-1999, 04:00:AM All Australian youth soccer is of a hight standard! Contrary to what many think Australian soccer is on the rise and you wait till the next world cup.....youll be very surprisd by the Socceroos!!!!!!!! LEEDS UTD - 2 BRADFORD- 1 YEESSS!!!!!!!!!!! Fat Bhoy Tim 21-11-1999, 06:18:AM VIDUKA RULES CELTIC # 1 HAIL HAIL ZZUB 21-11-1999, 08:05:AM Kewell, you are doing a classic Aussie thing, you are counting your chickens before they hatch. Kiwi soccer is on the way back up. We may not have the depth of quality players that you guys have but we will give you a fair fight this next world cup qualifiers. We now have three players in the English premier league, a couple in the US MSL with one of them just winning Rookie of the year, another half dozen scattered around Europe. Our team played well at the confederations cup ( a classic example of Aussie soccer not treating NZ with any respect). Dismiss us at your peril. We may not be as good but one day out of 10 we can beat you, you better hope its not on the worst day Cheers Mike ZZUB 21-11-1999, 08:08:AM By the way, your under 17's have made the semi finals against the USA, win this and you will probably meet Brazil who you gave such a hard time to in the Qualifiers. Good luck Aussies Mike Aussie Soccer 21-11-1999, 09:44:AM i think australia is sort of shooting itself in the foot by having a nz team in the national soccer league cause we are making them a better nation at soccer and they could beat us in a very important match cause we have made them better. oh and go the aussies in the U17 world cup. shame we can't do aswell in the proper world cup as in the u17 world cup ZZUB 21-11-1999, 07:19:PM Its a tricky one having a Kiwi team in the Aussie national league for you guys. In truth it doesnt affect the quality of our national team first team plyaers. Most of those guys are still and will still be picked from all our players playing In England, Europe and the USA. Of the Kingz squad only 4 players will make the national team squad of 22. The benefit to new zealand soccer is two fold in that it does help to increase the quality of our second tier players, giving our overall soccer an added depth and also it has brought about a much needed boost in interest in soccer over here. An important thing to remember is that Oceania is the only confederation without a direct entry place to the world cup. The reason for this is simple, we simply only have one team, Australia, that has any true world class status. For Oceania to deserve and gain an automatic World Cup entry place we simply need to have more than just you guys in Oceania being a decent team. So on one hand you are shooting yourselves in the foot by assisting NZ to increase its player depth and on the other hand you are doing yourselves a favour by lifting the level of Oceania football and thereby increasing the chances of Oceania finally being given a place at the world cup. Mike btw The Aussie national league is already riddled with NZ players. The Kingz in reality isnt going to do a huge amount to threaten your National team aspirations. The New Zealanders now starting to break through into European clubs are the real threat. Players with Bayern, Leeds, Feynord, American MSL, Belgian and German leagues Aussie Soccer 22-11-1999, 11:07:AM hey zzub's is there a lot of interest in nz about the new team auckland kingz ZZUB 22-11-1999, 08:14:PM The interest in the Kingz is growing steadily, we are getting crowds of only about 5000- 6000 at present but with the under 17 world cup on here and crowds averaging over 10,000 I think the Kingz will get bigger crowds soon. The big thing for kiwi soccer here is that the Aussie league is such a great league to be playing in, the standard is excellent, its the next level up from our National league. The Kingz have a tough job ahead of them, its a brand new team created from scratch only months ago. Unfortunately we only have a 2 year dispensation from Fifa to play in your league and after that is over they may be forced to return to NZ's national league. Mike GOONERBHOY 23-11-1999, 12:02:AM Trojan, hey no offence taken, i can accept a bit of criticzm. I just get angry when i see that sort of stuff. I am a big fan of hard but clean football and that certinly wasn`t a clean effort from the Aussies. I wasn`t having a go at individuals i thought they played very dirty as a team, i`m not saying they are a dirty team but they were on this occasion. As for Viduka, although he`s a spitting Potcher sadly we still need him. Much rather seeing Kewell up front for the Bhoys. |
