I can only say that you should play more times in the training, play on Amateur and practise, practise, practise.

how did u find FIFA 99?
i have the PC version and when i played first time. i played as inter milan against lazio away. i lost 7-6 but it was a fun match. more fun than FIFA99 for the moment but time will tell. what team r u playing as? try as much as possible not to give corners away if u do then change setpiece and your players will move. never stay in the same position. move players intelligently and you should beat the cpu. use through-pass, more attackers. play on the flanks and use sprint cross the ball in and u should score.if this doesn't work then play cautiously and then suddenly use skills to great effect. in defence use sprint and then conservative tackle if possible. u can always change your strategy to more defensive, don't play too attacking, because cpu counter-attack too good. this is more the kinda game that u have to do all the work and there is no help. in FIFA 99 playersin better positions to defend. in FIFA 2000 u have to move players back yourself, much more difficult. if u keep the ball the opposition can't attack so playing defensive is good idea. use zone marking and not man-to-man marking, you will find your players in better positions. when u have a corner put full power to one of your free players then shoot, should score 9 times out of 10. i hope u will get more shots on target now and the cpu less.
