View Full Version : WHO'S GONNA WIN ALVALADE XXI ENTRY MATCH ??? SCP or ManUtd ?????
ALVALADE-XXI 05-08-2003, 12:20:AM In antecipation of the great 6th day of August, i'm asking your opinion what should be the final result of this game, knowing that Manchester United have made wonderful games in "Oncle Sam" Land, smushing all theyr oposition with tremendous wins.
Sporting "11" should be :
...........................................Ricardo .................................................
.....Luis Filipe(or Mário Sérgio)...............................Rui Jorge...........
............................Beto.................. Anderson Polga.........................
.........................Rochemback.............Pa ulo Bento..........................
Cristiano Ronaldo........................................... ............Rodrigo Tello
...................................João Vieira Pinto...........................................
........................................Silva..... .................................................. ..
I ask some Man United fans to put here the "11" of the Red Devils for the day after tomorow.........
calve11 05-08-2003, 01:02:AM Obviously Man United will win, unless of course the match is rigged. I say about 3-0 Man U.
Goo Goo boy 05-08-2003, 01:20:AM Sporting cant even handle leixoes or estoril, so im guessing a 7-0 win for utd...well they will have a bit of mercy, maybe 4-0 just cause its sportings presentation day..
is it not obvoious that man u are better and will win this match
::shinji:: 05-08-2003, 01:37:AM I think a good 4-0 thumping for Man Utd. would be appropriate here. It would also help keep some Sporting supporters quiet and not so arrogant. I can understand some Portistas being jerks, but at least they have a good team. Sporting on the other hand is dogsh!t and can't even get by 2nd div. teams, yet many of their fans seem to think their team is something special..

It's spreading like the wind; the ARROGANCE...even the Fc Porto supporters are getting WAY ARROGANT as their coach and players...this keeps up my memory on the 1999/2000 season when Jorge Costa (FC Porto "captain") said that FC Porto WILL win the League, then appears a guy named "El Matador" Acosta and killed all that ARROGANT BULL**** talk, right 2 goals up their tight arses...it was so fantastic that some FC Porto fans went to Cirurgical Hospitals to close their arse hole !!!!!!:crazyboy: :crazyboy:

I can only stress it enough that the preseason doesn't matter.
Honestly, I think if we were able to hold off Inter 1-1 at home last season we can at least have a good game against Manchester United.
I say 3-2 United.
Goo Goo boy 05-08-2003, 02:16:AM Im not against sporting, if porto was playing that bad i would say the exact same thing, its not arrogance, its the true:rolleyes:
Sporting seems like porto when we lost Jardel, there was noone to score goals, and then Fernando santos picked Romeu in the last 5mins to try a miracle...those were boring games...then Pena came and the things settled down a bit...Fernando santos seems to have this problem with finalization, and Beto is playing really bad the few games...i like luis filipe a lot...lets see if Polga balances sporting team...
Hugo-45-Viana 05-08-2003, 02:45:AM IMO, if Silva can gain his form and Ronaldo works on his shooting accuracy we could have a deadly attack, but as it is we need to find that edge, because Lourenco isn't going to score 30 goals out of his ass or something(But if he does then I won't be complaining;) ). But, as long as our defence and midfield can dominate the game(which let's admit shouldn't be too much of a problem with our additions) we can keep the game tight and form the opportunities. Right now we should try and play like the Italian teams. Keep the opponent agrivated. If Sporting can do that they can start winning games, but at the moment we need to get the team-members to gel together.
jerrychan 05-08-2003, 04:59:AM i guess MU can win in ths game....they had done good performance in recent match like against Barca, Juv and etc...i'm looking forward to them!
shokz 05-08-2003, 05:10:AM Reminds me of the time United won 4-0 vs FC Porto a few years back in the Champions League. :o
May the best team win, looking foward to see'ing the stadium on Eurosport Wednesday night!
Punkt 05-08-2003, 05:20:AM my bet is sporting 1-2 Man UTd
goals from silva (sporting) Scholes and Forlan (Man utd)
mufc_daddy 05-08-2003, 05:40:AM After just beating some of the top teams in the world i find it hard not to think that Man U wont win this game. But maybe if the players are tired then a draw could be the final result.
I cant really see us losing though.
4-1 United (Scholes, Forlan, Ruud and Giggs)
And Veron better play!

We'll probably still have a hard time as most of our players are a tad bit off form... but if they've been training well enough they could take this game.

Just had another read on Manutd.com.
Your in luck, Tim Howard won't be playing, Fergie has given Fabien a chance, hopefully Sporting will score 1 or 2, with United still winning the game, and giving Tim Howard the #1 spot. :p
Mark Lynch and Danny Pugh, Djemba-Djemba makes his debut, Fabien Barthez plays, Mikael Silvestre will play, Ole Gunner Solskjaer will play. :D
We'll have to wait till tonight to find out the rest.
