Play with only van Nistelrooy in front, and Scholes behind him. I play often like this (also when I played with Man U) and it works great

Ive finally got my team working well with a 442 and i dont want to change it because my team is working well, i mite try it later on in the season

Just buy Mido if you want a class partner. He will cost only 8.25 mil, which for a player of his calibre is a bargain.

RVN is an out and out striker, you won't have a succesful attack if you play another striker like Ronaldo up front with him. RVN will have nothing to play off.
Try some like Eldar Hadzimehmedovic

sell RVN and buy Adriano imediately!

I'd go for Mido or just play something like 4-5-1 with wingers pushed forward and running into the box. Can use Giggs on left and easy enough to find a right sider, freeing beckham for a more central role

Carlton Cole. He's class, good finisher, dribbler, scores some headers and can create a lot of space for someone like RvN.

What I don't get is that C.Cole is rubbish at jumping but IRL he is tall ????

I think he needs a good passer of the ball to feed him his 4 yard strikes, so a guy like Le Tallec / Ronaldinho / James Milner would be ideal.

my first purchase in the last few CMs has always been Cisse' to partner Ruud up the front and it works bloody wonders. Secondly to that i use C Ronaldo but I find he works better if he can play midfield and run up the forwards... lil ball hog that he is.

The best forward combination is one with "attacking, "hold up ball" and "try through passes", and the other "gung-ho", "forward runs" and "run with ball".

There is space in the database for the variables height and weight, but SI have decided not to do anything with them for CM 0304. They are likely to come in use for the next game.
