rony31 10-08-2003, 07:33:AM I saw the last half of it... from what I saw it was pretty shìt and not scary at all... except for maybe the part where she comes out of the TV
-William- 10-08-2003, 07:35:AM Hey Kader their also passing THE RING on STARS! every now and then, did you see it there ?
Hakeem 10-08-2003, 07:38:AM Starz??? no way. they're not showing it here in the US yet.
where did you see it Kader? DVD? PPV?
-William- 10-08-2003, 07:42:AM Well my friend told me he saw it on Starz, btw I live in Nicaragua
:)
Gerrard 17 10-08-2003, 07:44:AM yea, rented it at Blockbuster...
have u seen it?
it didnt feel scary at all while watching it, just really tense... then it got into me. the video is really ****in strange and creepy though, and the sound, and the horses and the ladder, and mrs morgan in the mirror.... :S
#1 Stunna 10-08-2003, 07:47:AM Its way fu*king scarry in the movie theater, the damn sounds are so fu*king loud, they make u jump at least 4 times. Especiially when the girl teleports from one place to the other.
xxxFLYERxxx 10-08-2003, 07:48:AM yea, its a freaky movie. very well done. it makes you think
Gerrard 17 10-08-2003, 07:51:AM Yea, the sounds at the beginning of the video tape are scary... with the tree showing, the screeching and ****...
i'm also home alone and there's a thunderstorm outside

Gerrard 17 10-08-2003, 07:57:AM You weren't supposed to help her... She never sleeps...
:(
#1 Stunna 10-08-2003, 08:06:AM Hey did u guys notice how the image of the ring pops up during various scenes of the movie.
Vagegast 10-08-2003, 08:06:AM I have all the Starz channels, but they're not showing it. They're showing that Indian movie called Lagaan and the Count of Monte F*cking Cristo. F*cking waste of money, this month! :f***: :kader:
Anyways, even even they showed, I wouldn't watch it.....too f*cking scary :( Everybody get the IMF channel and watch "But I'm A Cheerleader." Funny ass movie, about a rehabilitation camp for....gays lesbians (H) They can leave when they're straight, but one girl who's also in American Pie still stays lesbian and starts making out with other girls. :hump: Did I mention them making out? :p :hump:
Am I changing the subject? Sorry. :p

 (6)
rony31 10-08-2003, 08:20:AM I heard the Japanese version "Ringu"s way scarier than the American version

I'm pretty sure I saw it on my guide that it was on starz!!
And it's not even that scary.
Vagegast 10-08-2003, 08:31:AM I just checked the schedule and the only move that starts with "The" is The Texican from 1966  And yes, I checked under R too and found nothing.
-William- 10-08-2003, 08:43:AM I was gonna rent it last weekend cause I was gonna be home alone but then I remembered the comments that it was kinda scary, so I chose a comedy instead :$
AhmedK 10-08-2003, 09:32:AM I got it off Kazza and watched it while no one was in the house...i didnt turn on the TV for a couple of days...i hate the sounds, i mean there isnt really a plot and it should not be scary but the sounds and the images...:kader:
Dont watch it Vage....go pray instead....
Gerrard 17 10-08-2003, 09:33:AM nah... i think the plot is awesome, one of the best in horror movies...
AhmedK 10-08-2003, 09:36:AM What was the plot? They watch a vid and then it says they die a week later, and they kill a horse, and that damn chick in the vid...thats all i remember from the film...

yes it is... the american version is scary but the jap version is your worst nightmare...
Gerrard 17 10-08-2003, 09:48:PM Depends which one you watch first... everyone who watched The Ring and then Ringu say The Ring is scarier, and vice versa. I think they already made a sequel for Ringu? I know that The Ring 2 is set for release in late 2004.
Get the DVD, and then watch The Ring tape... something cool will happen :D
::shinji:: 10-08-2003, 10:02:PM I hated this movie.....I bought into the hype and kept waiting for something scary to happen, and nothing did. The only thing scary about it was all the gaping plot holes...
but, that's just me..:D
Gerrard 17 10-08-2003, 10:15:PM I dare you to download this and watch it ;)

#1 Stunna 11-08-2003, 07:59:AM i think it would have been cool if as a special feature u could actually watch the video footage as if u were watching the real video.
Of course then some people might record it onto an unlabeled blank tape and leave it at a hotel or something. :crazyboy:
Vagegast 11-08-2003, 09:27:AM Ahh....f*ck Kader! :f***: I was about to go to bed...and than I saw that picture! :f***: :(
Amika 11-08-2003, 04:58:PM hahaha... kader... u know what.. i went to watch the ring with a couple of my friends, and i must admit that i enjoying watching my friend's reaction rather then the movie itself.... hahaha...
The Don't 11-08-2003, 06:41:PM yeah the ring was great, shame i didn't watch it with me mates though, some scary(ish) **** in it!
Gerrard 17 11-08-2003, 08:00:PM I didnt sleep till 6:30 am last night because of this ****ing movie
Ubik Valis 11-08-2003, 09:09:PM They showed the Japanese version her on a danish channel a couple of months ago, and i saw the last 40 something minutes of it, and I liked the effects in it. I mean, the whole scenery and all....
Remember in the Aliens films, how it was always dark, or very dim everywhere in the movive, and that helped it make it a little more scary, and I guess it's a bit the same in Ringu...it's all dark 'n' sh!t.......anyways, the part that really scared me is where Kaders posted pic is from, where the girl kills the main characters husband/boyfrien/whatever, and you just see that mutant thinggy eye surrounded by dark and greasy hair........that was cool!
I haven't seen the US version, but judging from the trailer it doesn't look as dark and scary as the Japanese version, cause in the trailer you see the girls' entire face.....and she pretty just looks ugly (in a horror kinda way) and not scary...
choppy 14-08-2003, 02:24:PM THe Japanese version of The Ring 2 is pretty freaky. Heaps better than the original. Probably be even better when I can understand what they are saying in the American version.
Deutschland 14-08-2003, 03:16:PM um, like i said to kader, if all that happens in this movie is an evil tape turning on ur TV and making it go static before killin u, this movie is ****
Gerrard 17 14-08-2003, 09:31:PM Yes, judge a movie before seeing it... why don't you watch it :|
flamehawk 14-08-2003, 09:44:PM pfftt...
Itz not scary at all compared to the original Japanese movie... American horror films arent scary at all compared to asians.. I guess we jsut look scarier adn stuff.. Not saying I aint scared of horror films but yea Asian ones scare the ****e outta you..
*remembers watching Japanese Ring* *sigh.. wont be able to sleep again......
I stared at the tv the whole night when I watched it
Mauricio 14-08-2003, 09:53:PM That movie is terrible i didnt got scared for a second, its a very weird movie
KLINSMANN 15-08-2003, 05:27:AM At camp, in the middle of nowhere here in British Columbia, my friends and me went camping (maybe 2 months ago) and on our second day, we set up our Generator and the TV and waited for about 12:00 am to watch "The Ring." We didn't get started watching the movie until about 1:15 am and it was pitch black!! Can you imagine then how scary the movie must have been? And also to add to that, one of the guys had to take a piss in the woods and ran back claiming he saw a bear. And guess what? We believed him. Why? Because in that area, it is not rare to see bears.
Now. I don't think even the Theater could have added more scariness to a horror movie than my experience.
-William- 15-08-2003, 07:43:AM lol klinsman that mustve been ****ing scary :o :(

That is not true :kader:
THe Jap version is not even scary, i saw it.
NO SUSPENSE, AND in the american version the characters had to figure out allot of ****, while in the jap version is missing allot of scences:kader:
Limberopoulos21 24-08-2003, 07:03:AM they're making a sequel go to crappy movies from 2004 thread, mentions other crappy movies.
Torsten Frings 26-08-2003, 12:42:PM The Ring? Pah. Ring? Excellent. See the original (Japanese), people. No dumb horses. Not too many trees, either. Ooh!! Trees! Horses! Neeeeeeeeh! Swoosh! And the television scene is done much better.
