Bayer 04 Leverkusen bean Hannover 4-0 today and stay in first place. I know it's still early and they haven't beat anyone any good, but it leads me to think of an interesting topic for discussion, Do you think they could be contenders for the Bundesliga crown?

Klaus "Auge" Augenthaler, the former German international is the new manager at Bayer.
After Toppmoller, they installed the Reserve/U21 coach in, however he failed to have a benefical impact, and when they had two games left to play at the end of last season, and they were 2 points from safety, they appointed Auge, he managed to win the last two games and save the team from relegation.
Augenthaler previously managed Nuremburg, who are simply a poor team, but one which he managed to mold into a team that was battling to stave off relegation, however he was fired around the 3/4 mark of the season, and then was appointed by Bayer at the 2 game mark.
Pre-Season wise, the team has been playing good, and they have managed to take the form into the league, additionally, playing two newly promoted teams for the first two games made the start a lot easier. However the match won last night at the BayArena was against a team who managed to out-play Bayern and managed a 3-3 draw against them last week(Incidently Bayern were lucky to even draw) so going into the match Bayer were under pressure to beat them, and they managed to completly stiffle their playmaker in the form of on-loan midfielder Jan Simak, and hence they were really restricted when it came to offensive duties.
But now that Franca is playing to the level expected, and the midfield is begining to gel again, there always stands a chance that this could be Bayer's year.
*could*

If Makaay gets his old form back, Bayern will be unstoppable

It's a rule in German football: Leverkusen just can't win the league. :)

The Aspirin Boys won't win the league, to the joy of many. I personally wanted to see them get relegated last year. However, I think they will be a pretty good team this year, I think they will be back in Europe next year.
