I'm sure the team are busy fixing it. I've emailed them about it, but I'm sure they are aware.

If this is real maintenance, then 2 things strike me - one, it should be possible (nay it's positively SIMPLE) to install extra servers in a cluster without pulling down the entire system, and two, they really ought to give us prior warning of planned maintenance activity.

I know I'm supposed to support this game, what with being an FA etc, and I broadly do, but just occasionally, they manage to make such a mess of things that it's really hard to find ways to be supportive without sounding like an idiot.

heh i agree with bigDawg, they should at least put on a notice, and info on why they are down. and there should be an official forum where people will know whats goin on, wheter the game has seized to operate or its just a maintenance thing...

it's quite possible that the system is so down they can't actually post a "we are down for maintenance" type message.

However, if it was maintenance, then we should have known in advance, if it wasn't then it wouldn't be hard for a member of Crew to post an apology here - something along the lines of "Yes we know it's down, know we don;t know why, please bear with us, we're doing our best"

I've spent my entire adult life providing tech support for large scale real time systems. If I'd treated my users in the way we seem to be treated by the crew I'd have been fired many many times.

The rumor is that MZ's ISP Song Network is experiencing som major problems. I'm trying to get some info on this, but alas it is not easy...

But for now it seems like its not Managerzone itselfs that has problems, but their internet provider.

"But for now it seems like its not Managerzone itselfs that has problems, but their internet provider."

ya know, when I order a new TV or something, I don't care which truck the shop chooses to use to deliver it, just that they DO deliver it. What problems MZ have with their ISP are very much their problem not ours.

You really think that MZ can afford an internet solution involving totaly redundancy BigDawg?

We get what we pay for, meaning this kind of things will happen...

Whenever they start to charge us 10 bucks a month - yes i will demand better service, but for now that aint the case...

hmm i demand explanation the least.. why they are down, i dont really mind they down for 24-48 hours, but at least be honest of what has happened. right now they didnt put any notice on whats goin on, and around when they can fix it, at least give a set of time, or explain to customers what has happened.

It could just be that they don't mean to be down but that the server has busted itself.

bigdawg

of course not stianjo, and if it is the ISP, then I guess theres not much we can do, but until we have the facts instead of completely uncorroborated rumour, it's kinda hard to make any judgement.

hey wazzup pals, give them a chance..its just a technical problem and can be solved..we all have games today and maybe some other plans..dont forget this is a optional free game server and just a server, i dont believe that they have the opportunitie to affort a high performance backup server, or just in case maybe the service provider is down..but in all cases they dont deserve such threats.

bigdawg
26-08-2003, 12:50:PM
*looks up*

what threats are those ?

The thing is, the deadlines for players haven't been put back, so I don't think it was maintenance. The site's been down for over 12 hours, maybe a domain resolving problem or something. :S

so far they've added more options in guestbooks. anything else..

bigdawg
26-08-2003, 06:26:PM
that had nothing to do with the outage.
