View Full Version : tactics??? kangle4 02-09-2003, 02:09:AM could somebody please explain to me how you set up the tactics in hockey, i have no idea!?! thanks!!! Ash 02-09-2003, 02:17:AM basically in each line you have a team of 6 players: 1 keeper 2 defence 3 attackers (put one man in each box) There are 4 lines (4 different teams if you can manage it) so they dont get tired. kangle4 02-09-2003, 04:35:AM thanks for the help!!! :) chris boston 02-09-2003, 11:32:AM Also, power play is when the opposition is down to 5 players, box play is when you're down to five players, so those can be used for attacking and defensive plays until the player comes back from the sin bin. Issy83 02-09-2003, 02:15:PM the tactic works really lame, and boring Shark 02-09-2003, 10:40:PM I think MZ have managed it extremely well, actually :| Pontefract City 03-09-2003, 01:12:AM Yeah they've done a great job. I was expecting them to dumb it down and it would say something like, 'Put a player here' sort of rubbish lol, but it looks like us hockey fans have no real tactical advantage. Dam! :) kangle4 03-09-2003, 03:21:AM it helps us guys who don't know what we're doing!!! Shark 03-09-2003, 11:04:PM I didnt have a clue, but it was simple enough. For Power Play, your team are one man up, so it would be necassary to play offensive. Whereas in Box Play you are a man down so you probably have to play defensive due to the oncoming onslaught of the opposing team ;) champdave 08-09-2003, 11:23:AM OK can someone post a screenshot please as I keep on getting invalid players in line 2/3. I just put someone in goal, one person in each of the two cirles and one person in each of the three rectangles. I have no clue when it comes to hockey. Seb 09-09-2003, 01:57:PM lol i found it quite hard at the start but realised it was quite simple:p champdave 09-09-2003, 09:34:PM I still dont get it :( Someone please post a screenie! Issy83 16-09-2003, 07:41:AM hmm preety simple, line 1 = 1st , 3 match 20mn line 2 = 2nd , match 20 min line 3 = 3rd, match 20 min game is over some where in this 3 lines there will be opponent players getting fouled and went out of the rink from penalties letting them to have only 5 players on field with the keeper, this is where <<power play come in place>> put all ur best attacker. if ur the one losing player its <<box play for you>> defensive stance since ur left with only 5 players on the field u probly want to put ur best defensive players on the field. jbradley21 24-09-2003, 06:02:PM yeh im with Le Tallec. still got no idea. can someone please post a screen shot of what to do. Mutt 26-09-2003, 04:51:PM screen shot!!! screen shot!!! screen shot!!! screen shot!!! screen shot!!! screen shot!!! screen shot!!! screen shot!!! screen shot!!! screen shot!!! i think we need a screen shot from an 'expert' or someone who has an idea, being in australia, we get NO hockey coverage or anything... mind you, im still ranked number 213 in the world :rockman: jbradley21 04-10-2003, 01:21:PM yes well can anybody show us none hockey experts a screen shot of how to set our hockey tactics?? plz Ash 04-10-2003, 04:59:PM Put a player in each of the white areas. Do this in every 'line'. Keeper always stays the same. Box play is for when you have a player 'sent off'. You can sort out a more defensive tactic for when you're a man down. Shark 04-10-2003, 09:41:PM Try and use a different group of players for each line, as they get tired. Obviously you can keep your best players on 2 or 3 times. rony31 26-10-2003, 11:47:PM hm... hockey's my favourite sport, yet my team's 0-3... really, the whole "hockey tactics" thing is dumb... there are no formation-tactics in hockey  kangle4 30-10-2003, 04:40:AM hockey is weird and confusing as you can beat someone 5-0 and then lose 8-0, it needs to be fixed up fully!!! |
