it should be interesting what kind of english squad shows up, the one that drew with finland and lost to germany, or one full of youngsters, as peter taylor says he will be bringing in.

Well, the England/Italy will be a huge test for Peter Taylor. And if he succeeds I will dance & sing. If he fails I will mercilessly mock Drinky for endorsing Pete. http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Its a win/win situation.

But I'd be very interested to see what happens if we get a decent team on the pitch for once.

I suspect that you SHOULD beat us, but who knows?

Well, I'm not sure about taking responsibility for a defeat, a _shearer (grin), but I'm not sure that it matters whether England win, lose or draw - the No. 1 priority is to get the system changed from being lump it long and hope, with a team full of thirtysomethings, to a quite young side, which will get experience, and a new system in place. If the young players gain experience, and the squad shows signs of gelling into a slick, passing side that can engineer opportunities without resorting to set pieces or right-wing crosses from Beckham, then we should be getting somewhere.

Italy seem to have an advantage in every departement .1)They are at home 2)They have a better momentum than England 3)On paper Italy looks superior ,but i dont want Italy to underestimate England .Everytime England plays against Italy ,they seem to play very good ,but not enough to beat us ,example WC98 Qualifyers when Italy beat England 1-0 and drawed their second 0-0 .It will be a tough battle ,if Italy plays them like if it were playing against a team such as Brazil or Holland ,Italy will beat them, but if they play like they did against Georgia ,then England can beat us .

Oh, c'mon!!!

You Italians aren't that good. Don't be so over-confident. England have drawn with Brazil, Argentina & France in friendlies within the last year.

Italy is no better than ANY of those teams. If we get a good team on the pitch, then we should get a fair result in Italy.

UNA FORZA DEI TRE LEONI or something like that. I haven't taken Italian in a while... http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif

you dont make a very good point, italy have also tied against brazil, i dont know of any games against argentina, and against france in 2 games have taken them to overtime to lose in a shoot-out and a golden goal, but the way england have played is awful, their playing awful soccer, italy meanwhile have rose to the occassion of playing bigger teams and have beat them,

no doubt if italy comes out to play it will be no contest.

and for the starting line for italy i have would like to see one change, delvecchio for inzaghi and have inzaghi come in later

Of Course England's gonna win. What a dumb question. http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif

England is such an Empire. No one can stop us. Our soccer is based in the stone-age (SOB), our League sucks, we don't do **** in Europe, and Germany beats us every time.

And who the **** is Italy? It's not like they were 8 seconds away from winning the Euro Championship.. http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif

AAAGH WE SUCK SO MUCH

No Doubt about it, at best - a draw. My bet -Italy all the way.

(p.s. It's not that they're that good, but that we play as bad as Newcastle... http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif)

you know the way that england ahve been playing it is sort of a insult to italians that you would say that "But I'd be very interested to see what happens if we get a decent team on the pitch for once." italy decent, right now in comparison to england you could go out and say that italy is a powerhouse. a team that would be more decent would be a finland, greece etc. but besides that: this is the line-up i would like to see

GK-Toldo
RB-Nesta
CB-Cannavaro
LB-Maldini
RW-Di Livio
RM-Tacchinardi
CM-Albertini
LM-Fiore
LW-Coco
RF-Inzaghi
LF-Totti

-Del Piero subbed in for either inzaghi or totti

Non vi preocupare ragazzi. Sappiamo che l'Italia vincerà.
Perchè? Ma dai!! Italia gioca a casa, e l'Inghilterra non ha una buona squadra!.
Forza Azzurra!.

As for Italian changes, I'm told that, after a telephone conversation between Peter Taylor and Giovanni Trappatoni, both sides will feature experimental XIs, with established players on the bench, which could make for a very refreshing match indeed. Could well see the likes of Cassano and Giannichedda making starts for Italy, to name but two.
