The Masters Cup: Weekly Roundup

The Masters Cup is a friendly league organized by Gary Bungard, manager of Leeds United. There is a wealth of Aussie talent and it will all be showcased in the next couple of weeks.

The Masters Cup kicked off on Monday, with sixteen Australian teams geared for an exciting tournament. We saw open day wins for Sin Football Club, Eudunda, Flying Hippos FC, Leeds United, Norwich City and Real Madrid.

Tuesday was where the action heated up. Could teams win twice in a row? Would the losers of round one bounce back? Well Purnim, Mean Machine, West Coast United, Leeton United FC, Leeds United and Sin Football Club all managed wins.

Wednesday saw wins for Norwich City, Juventus FC, Leeds United, Flying Hippos FC, Purnim and Olympic Sharks. We saw great domination from Leeds United and Purnim both winning their first three matches.

Thursday saw wins for Leeds United, Norwich City, Flying Hippos FC, Olympic Sharks, Purnim, Leeton United FC and Eudunda.

Friday saw Purnim, Liverpool AFC, Flying Hippos FC, Leeton United FC and Juventus FC win their games.

In the first week of the Masters Cup we have seen some great games. Purnim are unbeaten in their first five games, with Leeds and Flying Hippos both three points behind on twelve.

Three teams are unbeaten as well. Those three are Purnim, Juventus FC and Sin Football Club who are first, fifth and seventh. At the bottom of the league are Mozzie United and Real Saigon both on one point.
