Ok I thought I'd make a little review to help all the ones out who haven't played the demo yet.
The review is based on what I've seen in the Demo. This is not the full game (just to clarify things )
"It's been a long wait but finally the Fifa 2001 Demo was released to much anticipation and joy of many.
The big question remained:will it be what the fans wanted or will it be just another game by EAsports with no regards to the fans.
Ea had promised lots of new and realistic features in Fifa 2001,but last year they promised a lot of things which they didn't include in the game.
After playing the Demo about 30 times in one go(to get the full view of how it was)I realised the following things:
The pitch is much wider as Ea had promised which makes the gameplay very realistic indeed.
The Stewards which are situated in the stands make a big impact on the game's realism although this might not be noticed.
The stadiums look very good and realistic.
Ea have also included some neat tricks like stepover, flickover and the hurdle. It is now alos possible to lob the keeper which is done by TAPPING the shoot button. For hard and wild shots you have to keep the shot button pressed.
The power bar has also finally been included into the game, this was a feature that many Fifa fanatics wanted to have, finally it seems as though EA have listend to the fans'requests.
The power bar is very good although it is very sensitive, but that make the scoring also harder.
The gamespeed in the Demo is very fast and you can't change it buw I'm sure that in the full game you will be able to change that.
The tackling can be wild in the Demo and the referee still doesn't blow his whistle at times that is,I think, because the referee stichness is very low.
The players and shirts look very good too I must say.
The goalkeeper which used to 'fly'in the old fifa series is very realistic now.He comes out to punch the ball from crosses,he paries the ball and then picks it up and that kind of stuff.
Overall the Demo is very realistic,it's just a pity that there is no commentary and all features are not availeble yet,but that makes it the more interesting what the real game will be like.
My final verdict is Never judge the game fully by the Demo.
I'll give the Demo
8,5 out of 10

P.S> the only thing that is anything but realistic is David beckham doing a classic sommersault after scoring http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

The first thing I noticed about Fifa 2001 was the outstanding graphic detail. The players finally have realistic proportions and facial detail, kit logos and motion captured movement is a vast improvement over Fifa 2000. Apart from the power bar which moves like greased lightning, the controls are more or less the same as those featured in previous incarnations of Fifa.

The demo gameplay is way too fast and I hope that there is a slower game setting. Whilst the larger pitch is a welcome addition I still felt the ping pong effect that has plagued the Fifa series. I fear that this will transfer into Fifa 2001 even on a slower setting. Having playing ISS Evolution in recent weeks I feel that there is a greater sense of being involved in a football game, with the Konami game that is sadly lacking in Fifa games.

i dont know what difficulty level was included with the demo, but it was just too easy though more difficult than fifa 2000. i liked the detail put into the stands though i think that there are too many flags, making it tacky.

I beat Manchester 3-0 in the demo. Henry hat-trick. The graphics are really cool. The players on the sideline and the camera guys are nice ..... but still .... I scored three goals in Old Trafford, and everytime the crowd cheered. What the hell???

I downloaded it, started the game, and began Man Ure v. Arse-anal as the Gunners.

In ALL SERIOUSNESS, I took Silvinho from one end of the pitch to the other using two 360 degree spins and speed bursts.

When I got into the box I was thrown to the floor as if I had been shot with an earth shattering 'crack'.

I then ALT CTRL DEL the program and wiped it from my PC.

CRAP! Just the same as FIFA 2000....

Hey guys as I said DON'T JUDGE THE GAME BY IT'S DEMO!!!!!!!!!!!

First of all:
The Gamespeed in the Demo is clearly on very fast!
And the difficulty is on easy. That is a fact with demo's!

What I did.I played manutd 10 times and then played arsenal(even though I support manutd, weird huh http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/biggrin.gif )and I really started to like it.
When you play it 2 or 5 times that's not enough you have to play it loads of times, and believe me you will like it!
Ea sports said that it only included the 360 degree turn and flick-over but the stepover is in there too GOOD!
The power bar it too sensitive though but you get used to it.....
I also scored a brilliant goal btw with andy cole.
Barthez took a quick throw out right to gary neville. He played it cross-field to ryan giggs who the made a neat stepover to beat lee dixon.Half way into the arsenal half ryan giggs passed it right to paul scholes who then straight away released beckham on the right.Beckham swung in the cross for andy cole who was waiting for it about 2 yards from the penalty box.
Andy Cole(with his back to goal) took it on his chest and then did a spectacular overhead kick into the top left-hand corner!!
GREAT GOAL I MUST SAY!!
