Let the **** talk begin!

Roma has been offensively impressive the first couple matches of their Serie A season and got a win at Udinese, who did not lose at home last year to anyone except Juve. Lets see how they do against a true powerhouse like Juve. This will be the first title rival clash of Serie A season.

I predice these lineups.

---------------------------Buffon-----------------
Thruam-----Legrotagllie----Montero-----Zambrotta
---------------Marseca----------Appiah
Camoransei------------------------------Nedved
----------Trez------------------------Del Piero

-----Carew or Montella-------------Cassano
------------------------------Totti-------------
Mancini------------------Emerson----------De Rossi
Zebina----------Samuel--------Chivu------Lima
--------------------------Pelizzoli--------

Tacchinardi is injured for Juve, and Pannuci and Candella for Roma. Maybe they will be fit by sunday but no idea right now.

Juve 3-1 Roma (H)

2-0 for roma
i don't think that it will be easy for juve to penetrate the duo chivu+samuel
i expect totti and montella to score

Kidding aside, I think Juve can win 2-1. Depends who plays. Roma look more in form.

IceBlu
19-09-2003, 04:08:AM
i dont get it. Why does everyone think that Roma are in form all of a sudden ? 5-0 vs BRESCIA.... yes B-R-E-S-C-I-A.....and not Milan :|

Juve beat Empoli 5-1 too and beat Chievo too.

anyway...3-1 to Juve. Nedved to get his first goal for Juve vs Roma.

tottiiii
19-09-2003, 04:48:AM
cause they beat Udinese at home which is pretty hard to do and beat Brescia pretty bad....so basically out of the serie a games it would seem Roma are in the best form....but it doesnt really mean **** when they play....the form isnt the reason i picked roma to win 2-1 away from home...dunno about the rest of you's

northstar
19-09-2003, 05:19:AM
Brescia is not as good as they were last year. Baggio is hurt, they lost Appiah who was one the best midfielders in Serie A last year, and they lost their genius coach to Bologna 3 days before the start of the season, Mr. Carlo Mazzone who many people thought would be the coach for Roma this season as it seemed Capello would not return.

Still Roma are in good form, and so are Juve. Should be a great match.

2-2

Roma are going to play better but Juve will score a late equalizer. It sucks we don't have Candela though, hopefully Chivu and Samuel can do it for us.

Why isn't Tommasi playing?

northstar
19-09-2003, 06:15:AM
I think Tommasi has become a bench player now. Perhaps he will get a start since there are injuries now though.

All of the Roma players are injury free. Juve have Trez, Legrottaglie, Tacchinardi, Zalayeta.... that all have little injuries:o

Leggrotaglie is back though.

and Roma have Candela and Panucci missing.

Trezeguet needs to be more involved in the game ...just just hope for something to fall to him and poke it in from point blank range.

20'GOOAAAALLLLL! Pelizzoli makes a great stop from Trezeguet`s header, but he can`t prevent Di Vaio scoring the rebound! First blood Juve!

24' GOOOAAAALLLLL! Chivu curls in a splendid free-kick for Roma. His second free-kick in two games!

2-1 for Juve.
Di Vaio with 2 and Chivu with a free kick....soft foul it was and the Juve wall was poor.
Di Vaio's first goal was a rebound after a good save by Pelizzoli
2nd goal he got a foot on to a hard and low free kick from Nedved.

Di Vaio finally coming into form after a tough year last year! (H)

Hehe Cuper said:"It was difficult to repeat that game which we have shown in London, even because today we were resisted completely with other command. First 20 minutes of match «Inter» looked well, however then we have sharply reduced revolutions. The saved up weariness perhaps has affected."
It tells lies, inter tests crisis..... Simply in London him has carried

In the end of the day, Juve were lucky to get with a draw (come in flames), hadnt Totti looked so complacent in his finishing, near the end one on one with Buffon. For me, it looked like he waited too much to get the shot and he tried to make it look pretty, but anyway, a great game. Btw, talking about Lazio vs Parma, i'm surprised with the difference in class from Adriano a few years ago and now. That guy changed too much, he looked too good to be true today. Top scorer of the league, Parreira better call him up. If only our media gave him more attention.:kader:

Jedi Mind Trick
22-09-2003, 03:19:AM
adriano's come a long way. too bad inter will have him next season.

ko_Totti
22-09-2003, 03:27:AM
I told you it was going to be 2-2. Good result for us, hopefully we will win when we meet again at Olimpico.

It is kinda good that Totti didn't score, hopefully that will teach him a lesson and next time we will win.

Roma looking sharp, we have increased our chances of winning the title by much. I guess one player can make a big difference after all.

Lean
22-09-2003, 03:30:AM
Yep... he developed so much in these years. The problem is that the brazilian media doesnt give him much attention. Ronaldo scores against a 20th division side (i know it doesnt exist a 20th division, but i think you'll get the picture here) and they show it. Adriano scored 4 in 3 and except for ESPN Brasil, the channel that is showing Serie A for us, and is only available in Cable TV, for the ones who pay for it, no other channel mentioned that he is Serie A top goalscorer.

ko_Totti
22-09-2003, 03:37:AM
We are in first place by goal difference. No team has won 3 games in a row, that just shows how competitive Serie A really is.

1 Roma 7pts
2 Juventus 7pts
3 Parma 7pts
4 Milan 7pts
5 Internazionale 7pts

We admit the championship it was terminated so Juve 80 Milan 80 Inter 80, 1 circle Juve has won Milan 2-0, 2 circle Juve has won Milan 2-0, it is exact also 2 times has won Inter, then count personal meetings Milan and Inter, we admit in 1 round has won Inter 2-1 and in 2 circle they have played 1-1 the gold match will be between Juve and Inter!

yep those Roma kits are f*ckin awesome !

as for the game - its one of thse where both teams could argue that they deserved to win...

Juve were the better team in the first half and Roma were better in the 2nd.

Del Piero's injury doesn't seem to be too serious. There are reports that its only a strain that should not keep him out of action for more than a week.
