They make football (the idiots call it soccer)look like the worst and ugliest sport in the world !! They make me sick !! Brasil and Africa hate English "kick and run soccer" but if they see one MLS game they would be so f*ckt up they would have to take 10 ton crack before they forget.

ok, I don't come to these boards very often but there seems to be an unbelievably negative attitute here.

I don't know what your motivation was nerdblaster, but it seems as if you enjoy making people upset. I can understand arguing to defend the league you enjoy, but to just start a topic in order to create a fight does not make much sense. Isn't it easier for us to all just be civil with one another?

And as for the MLS, please keep in mind that it is just in its 5th year. It does not yet have the money to buy huge stars like the European Leagues. You can't stereotype the entire country as horrible either, and please to refer to every American as an idiot either.

I used to say the exact same thing!!!

The MLS is a new league, and though it is not the best league in the world, it can provide some interesting soccer. Now, with famous stars like Mathauess and Azzizi playing in the MLS, the ratings are sure to go up. There are also quite a few talented yanks like Pope, Agoos, and Etcheverry! DC United aren't a bad team!

nerdblaster.....what's up with that!

You have just earned the very dubious honor of being the "Idiot of the Day"... get a clue. Of course the MLS cannot compare with leagues like Brasil, England, Italy etc. where soccer has been the biggest thing in town for close to 100 years. But...it's the only thing we have right now and, regardless of what you think, many people do enjoy it. You ever heard of Marco Etcheverry, Jaime Moreno, Zach Thorton, Khododad Azzizi, Jason Kreis, Ariel Grazziani...etc.? All wonderful players still in their prime who could play anywhere in the world. Wake up, dude.

If you dont like it...dont watch it.
You have a right to express your opinion on this forum, but then so do I.
I think you are a MORON.

Congratulations to all of you in defense of the MLS. In my opinion, this post should have been removed a long time ago, since all this guy want's to do is argue.

Nerdblaster, go vent your anger somewhere else. MLS is here, so accept it.

I'm sorry but nerdblaster is right the soccer is just pathetic, I don't care if it's only had five years of expierence they should know by now what beautiful soccer is. The sport has been around for hundreds of years not a few decades. Anyways all I'm sayin is that the excuse that is only it's fifth year doesn't cut it, they should be able to play good soccer instead of putting people to sleep. Trust I've seen my soocer matches, mls and european and I rather see the european football

DUH-As an American, i will admit MLS isn't in the top ten leagues of the world-far from it, but it improves every year. As our national game improves, MLS will follow. America was set up as a country that does things differently than Europeans(July 4th). I ADMIT THAT "AMERICAN FOOTBALL" IS NOT YOUR "FOOTBALL" But don't CALL ALL AMERICANS idiots because of it. So next time, try to put together a more thought provoking post than just "MLS sux!" That comment just draws a yawn from everbody who reads it!!! Thank you.

Hmm...MLS not playing good SOCCER? very funny, because I recall that the last meeting between a top ranked Brazilian club (was it Vasco?) and an Amerikan one (was it DC United?), the Amerikans won...
Funny how the United States can defeat Germany (national teams), but England (or whoever else) cannot.
Nobody gives a hoot about what SOCCER is called...just look at the English footy magazine called, "World SOCCER"...
Whoever still thinks the USA cannot play good SOCCER, I think it's time to realise that this is not 1998 anymore, and it might be time to keep up with SOCCER news, boys and girls.
Somebody tell Argentina that the USA should not have beaten them. Tell Derby County. Tell whoever else as well. Thank you.

MLS does suck with americans changing the game. What is up with the shootout being like hoskey's shootout players running in with the ball. You think you can change everything, just like when you created the NFL and call it football. How can a game where the ball is touched by hands far more often then feet be called football??. I don't get it only times the ball is kicked is when a fieldgoal, punt, and kickoffs are being taken.

I don't think anyone should put down any National league. The fact that FOOTBALL is becoming more popular in the USA is great. The more countries that play the better as far as I'm concerned. I emigrated to Australia over 3 years ago and I admit I was not enamoured with the quality of the FOOTBALL here but I now have a lot more respect for it. It can only get better, so let's all get behind the World game no matter where it's played.

First of all the shoot out is gone. Get your facts straight before you attack anything. Second of all when a league is new the quality of play is not going to be the best in the world. The league is not established and needs time to show how good it is to the world. With time more and more players will want to join the league that everyone knows. THat is partly why the English league and the Italian leagues are the best known. It is a cycle that is tough to start but once it begins it only gets bigger and bigger. Yes Americans do things differently, the whole league is different because it was not established and they do not want it to fail. Many americans don't understand the idea of going to the games on a regular basis. They are used to watching from home. Too bad soccer is not televised during normal hours (if at all). The idea is there and the base is growing so please just give this league some time to establish itself.

ok ok i'm sorry i was a bit rude i had just seen an MLS game on tv and i was very upset seeing such a different SOCCER. Maybe it was just a bad game or maybe i was a bit demanding after seeing Bayern Munchen and Real Madrid play. I'm sorry if i insulted anyone but i'm just not that good with Americans taking things away from us, everything in Europe is becoming American, it's getting annoying

I'll be the first to admit that the MLS isn't even as close as the English Premiership or the Italian Serie A or most of the leagues in Europe but that doesn't mean that it is a bad league.
