I know this is kinda random but it's been on my mind lately. Which clubs have the fewest Native players on the roster. Or Which team has the most foreign players on the roster?

I thought there was a rule that barred clubs from having certain amount of non-natives on the pitch at once.

no...theres only a rule for the maximum number of Non-EU players you can have on the pitch at a time... no restrictions for Non-native players i believe ... Sadly :(

Real Madrid have some players from Madrid...

Raul
Guti
Iker Casillas
Portillo
Pavon
Raul Bravo
etc...

i think other teams cant say the same like Celta or Deportivo in example.

Man Utd's backbone has been built around local Manchester lads, players such as Scholes, Butt, G and P Neville, Giggs (yeah he plays for Wales but his dad played Rugby League up in Manchester and Giggs lived there most of his life and even played for England schoolboys) and Wes Brown

There used to be a rule saying you can't have more than three foreign players on the pitch. I think that rule was taken away in the mid-90s (does anyone remember exactly when?).

monkee
03-10-2003, 06:29:PM
it was due to European legislation. Mid 90s, can't remember exactly when but it was around 1995-1996 I think. I remember because we couldn't play Cantona, Schmeichel, Kanchelskis and Keane in the same team. :D

In tomorrow's Old Firm derby the chances are that there will be only one Scot, Celtic's Jackie McNamara. And if Celtic had a fully fit squad then even he wouldn't play.

actually pires is half portuguese. his other half is spanish.

anyways, we've talked about the french national team millions of times. who cares if most of the players' origins are from different countries..more or less former colonies of france. that's like saying, every american player isn't really american.

and what exactly does someone have to look like to be french?

martinique used to be a colony of france and is now a department and region of france. besides, henry was born in paris, i believe.

i believe trezeguet's parents immigrated to france when he was a kid, and he had a choice to play for argentina or france, and while he was still young, he chose france.
