Im hoping Juve can go one step further this year. However, Real Madrid is definately lookin scary as hell. I'm hopin the boys in the black and white can take em' tho. Wudda ya think.

Juve or Bayern will win I think.

Both have the staying power and the depth.

right now i'd say juve has the upper hand. from all indications, it seems like they're really focusing on winning the champions league this year..more so than the league.

Lippi has openly stated time and again that the CL is Juve's primary focus this season but the CL is unpredictable and just about anything can happen...one bad day and you are out ! So Juve cannot stop concentrating on the Serie A coz that could mean ending up trophy-less.....although Juve are getting bored of winning the Scudetto over and over :p :crazyboy:

I reckon Juve (or any team with a solid defense) should beat Real. Real have a great attacking line but their defense is very, very suspect I feel. If a team can null their attacking threat then they should find goals pretty easy to come by. I feel that Juve's defense, or many of the Italian teams' defense would stand a good chance of doing this.

the key i believe to success in europe is a strong defensive line which you can work off, i.e. your back three or four + your defensive midfielder.

that's why inter, milan, juventus have all done particularly well in european competitions, they have a strong defence balanced by a strong forward line.

english teams however seem to lack this defensive stability in my eyes.
arsenal's is getting better but injuries and suspensions keeping getting in the way, the same applies for man united. neither back fours are solid enough to shut down the italian or spanish teams. just look at man utd - real madrid (both legs) or arsenal - inter this season.

real madrid is an exception as they have the finest attack in the world. they dont need to worry about conceding goals, they simply outshoot their opponent (real madrid - man utd 2nd leg as an example)

well i'm sure they're not gonna put all their hopes and effort in one competition. just it seems like the CL is a higher priority more now than ever.

i think Milan are the favorites actually...

IMO nothing is decided yet. Any team from the round 16 could go on to win the CL but there are obvious favorites like Juve,Milan, RM, etc..

well my favourtie team is Juventus soo i obviously hope they do win this year but seriously i think they have a realllly good chance of taking it out this year. they have a really good line up. Thumbs up for nedveds double against olympiacos:rockman:

People can keep saying how Real Madrid's defense is suspect and if you can neutralize their attack then they can be beaten.

Well, guess what... it's damn near *impossible* to shut their offense down. Valencia did an outstanding job of it, but our stars have enough confidence in their own abilities to concede a goal or two and know that they can come back and win.

When you have Zidane, Beckham, Figo, Roberto Carlos, Salgado, Raul and Ronaldo as the only players that touch the ball past midfield, you can be pretty confident in your scoring abilities, regardless of who the competition is. There are just way too many weapons there.

its not even worth it man...lol...regardless people are always gonna bring up your teams defense b/c its the weakest part of the team....but most smart people know Madrid will be one of the teams to decide who wins the title:)

Well he will leave this year I think. He is 65 and you have to stop sooner or later. Perhaps one more year, but he wants to coach Italia NT next.

Personally i would take him over Trappatoni any day. For me Milan are favourites, especially if Rivaldo can find his form, because if he plays like he did in the WC 2002 Milan will look almost unbeatable if you wanna know. Plus Kaka and Shevchenko on good form and the world class defenders they have they look strong enough to retain the title. Apart from Milan, i think Juve, Real Madrid, Bayern and Chelsea (if they dont do like they did against Besiktas, because they have a team capable enough of winning the CL, and you cant disagree with that) look pretty strong to win it, and i'm not even mentioning the likes of Man Utd, Deportivo and other class teams. If Arsenal played good enough in the CL they could be favourites, but they cant find their game in the competition.

Judging by every teams form so far this year I'd have to say

1. Madrid (best offence but can their defense stand the pressure)

2. Milan (have enough talent but will all their players be in form)

3. Juve (barely won their games against rubbish teams and Trezeguet sucks)

4. Munich (Same as Juve and their defense is ****e)

Anyone else cant be considered favorites. Chelsea has no chance.

And why not? They have the best midfield and striking force in the EPL, and their defence is at least decent. They've got more squad depth than Madrid dude. If they can play well as a team and get it together after that ridiculous defeat to Besiktas they have an outside chance of winning it. Chelsea are not a team to be written off so easily.

personel wise, man for man, chelsea is the best team in the world. they literally do have two quality players for each position. you can't write off a team like that so easily. i don't think they'll win it this year, but that doesn't mean that they won't be a contender. if this team can find a rotation that works and can build some chemistry and gel by the new year, they will be a scary team.
