Turkey have a better team, their players are more determined and plus they are playing at home. Owen is not the best striker and he has an injury so don't put your hopes on him. Gerrard hasn't been playing well this past weeks in EPL, Ferdinand has a drug problem, Campbell's dad died. The only players that will play good are Beckham and Scholes, I think. Though Scholes can't score for England. ko_Totti 08-10-2003, 05:59:AM If I were England coach this is what I'll play. ---G. Now you brought up the issue about Campbell's father, It didn't stop him from putting in a glittering performance versus Liverpool. I don't think Owen is going to be fit though, so I may be tempted to either go with a Beattie-Rooney strike force or try to see what Rooney-Vassell is like. Neither Rooney or Vassell are going to win as much in the air as Beattie or Heskey but maybe England should play it along the ground sometimes and mix it up a bit, both players are strong and skillfull and Vassell has a fair bit of pace. I think the Turks' defensive strength lies in the air though, so if England tried playing it under then, as they are slow, they might have more success. I also wanna say that I was listening to Swap Meet - Nirvana when I saw Jambo Tony's avatar and the dancing avatar kept time very well. :D Bobby 08-10-2003, 01:54:PM i still think Sheringham would've been a smart call. I couldn't believe how he fired England into the WC2002. I couldn't believe how Beckham so often single-handedly won games for England with his commitment, desire and passion. Beckham is kind of unbelievably good. Internazionale 12-10-2003, 02:08:AM Congrats to England. I'm also sure Turkey can make it too through play-off. |
