Hello, I'm new here but I have been playing MZ for some months.

I have a problem: the last 3 days I couldnt get to the site, what comes out is:

The requested URL could not be retrieved

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

While trying to retrieve the URL: http://www.managerzone.com/index.php

The following error was encountered:

Unable to determine IP address from host name for www.managerzone.com
The dnsserver returned:

No DNS records
This means that:

The cache was not able to resolve the hostname presented in the URL.
Check if the address is correct.

I cleaned the cache, deleted cookies but this is the third day that i cant login. I have a 56k modem. I saw on this site, on the news that the crew has been fixing problems and there were some, but 3 days??? what's wrong?

I have had the same problem since Thursday evening, if anyone could find the IP address for the site so I can mess around with my PC I think I know a solution to get onto MZ... it might say on the status bar in IE when connecting to the site.

Thought it might be my PC, ran a virus scan and ad-aware but nothing. :S

I'm on MZ again. :D

I looked up domain info for managerzone.com, and got the name servers. Entered one into a site, and got the IP. Then edited the HOSTS.SAM (SAM = sample) file and saved as "HOSTS". I entered the IP and domain and it works. :)

Anyway, download the file (http://members.lycos.co.uk/chrisboston/mz/HOSTS) and put it into "C:\Windows". You should now be able to get onto MZ. :D

Disclaimer: I don't take any responsibility for any problems it may cause, use at your own risk... hehe :p Shouldn't cause any problems really but if the IP changes, the site may not load again. In which case I'll have found the new IP and have a new working file. :)

dunno what's wrong this time, but it takes hours to load MZ at the moment.
I was on and suddenly the site stalled and won't open anymore.
No error messages, it just sticks at trying to find the site.

yeh I can't get on now either. Hope its back for the league games later on.

And for apologising FC Kàder for ruining his friendly schedule and trying to fix that.

I lost a player a few hours ago because it took my player off from the shortlist until the second after the bidding was over.:kader: I spent ****ing 30 minutes on that, crew have some 'splainin' to do.

managed to get on today for a whole 5 minutes.
after that got shifted back to the logon page, entered the site, went to the forum, read one topic and it got stuck once again.

I am having the same problem again today. What's the problem? Is it my PC or the server?

It seems that when they try to improve the game or the site they make it worse or create new problems.

I'm not sure, think it's the PC as my fix was adding a file on my PC, and my dad's PC on the same internet connection could access MZ while mine couldn't.

Anyway, the problem is the DNS details can't be accessed or something. When it looked up the domain it can't find the DNS details so it can't retrieve the IP address for the site... so the PC can't access the site. :|

The dark green background appears, and while it loads the index.php the typical message i posted appears. I dont know what to do.

Dammit, this really bothers me. I dont think many people will pay for this game if this keeps happening

I searched for the site's ip, and then I tried to get by it, and I managed to get to the main page. All the sections of it work, I can change languages, but...when I try to login it bring me back to that screen. I dont know what to do.

It must suck not being able to look after your team, at least it's 8 weeks until the team would go inactive... gives you time and at worst case you could get someone trusted to login for you and log out again on their PC at a different location.

You won 4-0 btw, still top, and opened up a two point gap... no need to hurry back. ;)

The worst thing is that nobody will help me. Now that my team is doing well I cant even do friendlies, or see how my players are improving in training, and I cant ask for help on the mz forums.

I got a response from johan "we are checking into this..." and I sent mails to the support but thats all what i got. I can see the main page from ip 62.95.110.210 but i cant login (it is redirected back to that page)

Any ideas?

well, it seems my team, who was starting to do really well, will have no more manager because i cant enter the site.

It wouldnt be nice if it happened to any of you.

What exactly have you tried to do, i.e. emailing Crew, trying things like that file I made, etc? I hope there's some way you can get onto the site. :S

Well I e-mailed the crew some days ago and i got a reply saying "we're checking into this" and yeah i tried many things opening different files.
Anyway, I could get inside yesterday by entering by http://managerzone.com but it seems its not working today again.

Maybe try http://62.95.110.210 ?

Well, theres no need for anyone to check it out because I FIGURED IT OUT!
It's my ISP who has the problem, by connecting through a free ISP (that is more expensive because it doesnt have the 0610 thing) I have just entered and see i won 4-0 again

I tried the IP address in the address bar but I see the problem you had with logging in now.

Updated the IP address in the hosts file and tried that but no luck.

Managed to log in under managerzone.com, strange why it won't resolve the dns details when I enter the 'www'prefix. :S

Thanks... I did actually sort it out with the hosts file, I had to get the IPs for MZ and the live subdomain... but works again. :)
