I explain why: First of all, in the first try you had achieve modeled his expression, his own see. Seems that everybody is loking for a realistic texture, where to find until the face capilars....ehemmm....no dudes, because the important thing of the texture is not only the realism, indeed the texture must to talk, must to said at the first look, "hey...i reconizned this face" Yes is cool to see a lot of details, but....are really necesary? i mean, this details are belongs really to this face?. I think that is an important thing to keep in mind. A clear example, the eyes. In the first pic i can really see his eyes (besides to add more or less detail in the texture), but in the last....is really necesary to exagerate the lower part of the eyes? NO...is more realistic, but, realistic refering to this face? NO... I see a great aproching in the first pic, ovearll when you have the eyes of a person, you have all. Only a few retouchements that you has done, as the hair. But the rest, nose, eyes, mouth, including the head size are more correct in the first pic, almost in the shape....lets see the texture of them. Sometimes, and this is 3D knowed thing, modellers we use our own skin, taken by scanner if we dont find a BIG pic,i mean, that if you have a correct shape, but the texture is not enought realistic, ok, then add real skin, blending with the texture, on the non important parts, where the texture dont affect to the expression of the face, but dont change the "HE" of his expression. This way hou have HIS personality and a cool texture. This things happends with a lot of faces here...and we have the bad costum of to think that texture=pic of face player. Do you think really, for example, in the Thierry Henry 2004 pic that the porus of his skin are taken of a Henry photo?...no...the technique that EA use is a normal 3D texture method, as i explained before, the important parts that give personality to a face are textured based on photo, may be using part of it, but not this entire photo, some parts are postprocessing later with other real skin texture, modificating them until achieve a good result, blendig, opacity, etc,,, I could put a few pics about all of this, but may be is too long and big to put here, but i hope that you understand the what i mean and that it will be useful. Anyway, good face, the first one sure. Look at ChrisA legrottaglie face. The texture is taken from the picture. And face looks gr8. on the texture we can show many details. i dont know maybe 1st face is better, i like 1st and 3rd versions. but i agree with you and i think you right. i will make few versions then i will take the best.
