How amateurish does it look? You can barely make out the soccer markings on the field. Watching MLS is tough at the best of times, but that makes it more unbearable.

well it's better than playing in high school fields or at the local park. not like the mls teams, other than 2 or 3, have their own facilities.

A workable promotion/relegation system would be good for MLS; yea for even all nations and their sports would this be good. For example, in basketball relegate the LA Clippers, in baseball relegate the Detroit Tigers, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Pittsburgh Pirates, and New York Mets!

Why pro/rel? Because it ensures accountability for all the teams in the league. In the past season the top quality Leverkusen nearly got lowered. Oh be it one day that Man U would get demoted (its happened before).

Who cares? It is a little annoying but they need to play the games in stadiums. Would you rather see them play at a high school somewhere and have no attendance. Every team can't have their own stadium yet. I can deal with watching a Metros game with lines on the field for the NFL. It isn't a big deal. At least we have a league, something we didn't have 10 years ago.

i would rather see them play on a highschool field with no football lines on it than on a football field full of those ugly lines and numbers, i cant stand that.

some nfl teams play on the clay from the baseball games and on the other sports thread i havent head of any bitchin........so get over it :rolleyes:

Exactly. We should be happy that the Metros, Revs, and Fire can play in NFL stadiums. I think the Rapids play in the old Mile High while DC United plays at an ex-NFL stadium. These NFL teams don't have to let MLS teams play in their stadiums but they do.

MLS isnt the only league that plays some games like that. Two Mexican clubs share their fields with college football teams, and they sometimes have football lines as well. It doesnt make the game less interesting.

But as long as its just lines thats ok. I remember when Mexico played Bolivia in Texas Stadium the field had the big Cowbows star in the middle, the soccer lines were in yellow and Jerry Jones didnt allow the field to be touched.

IM sure eventually when the league gets bigger and they get rich owners everyone will eventually get there own stadium... but for now I think theyre just happy to have a league.... its not gonna get bigger though if it never comes on basic cable like NFL, MLB, NBA, NHl..... get my drift

The football lines are just a minor and temporary issue. They only show up for less then the final 1/3 of the season (unless we count Dragon Stadium which wont be around in 2005). Right now two teams have their own stadiums so football lines are not an issue there. In 2005, that number is going to be at least three. In 2006, at least four. So as this process of MLS teams getting soccer-specific stadiums continues, football lines and markings are not going to be a problem anymore. I think they will be extinct in MLS by the end of the decade.

I don't mind it so much. After all, were else are they going to play? Besides, if you wait about 10 years, all the teams will have their own stadiums :D .

That said, I wish the NFL would go bash their brains (as they seem so fond of doing) and leave the stadiums to MLS.

I wouldn't say its a crucial matter, but those lines are annoying, on top of that, they use yellow lines for the soccer markings, which blend with the green when you're watching it on TV, making it hard to distinguish.

I mean, sure it's not a big deal, but it does make it look very unprofessional, I'm surprised that only 2 or 3 MLS teams have their own stadiums, when even the smallest teams in central and south american leagues do.

why build a new one right off when you have a huge on in the town?
