View Full Version : Does EA know football? or just know how to SELL football?
Wannabe 15-10-2003, 10:05:AM Just played my 10th game of the demo.
Just wanted to vent a little about how much EA has come since the original FIFA on PC.
I just used Juve and had the most fantastic goal ever. So fantastic, nobody will be able to do it in real life.
From about 25 yards out, Del Piero escapes a sliding tackle from Seedorf, goes left and hits a powerful LEFT footed shot towards the bottom right corner of the net. Shot hits the back before the camera can pan to it.
When marvelling at one of the goals I've ever scored in any FIFA game on the replay, I noticed something that all goalkeepers should be wetting their pants at night. (Not to mention Dida now)
On the replay, it shows that Del Piero hit the ball with the INSIDE of his LEFT foot. As the ball was going towards goal, the ball bended LEFT, towards the center of the net.
If you ever seen a player in real life do that, please let me know.
P.S. Crosses are way too easy to connect and score. The keeper just stand and watch.
CANADIAN.10 15-10-2003, 10:12:AM crosses way too easy? I havn't managed to get a decent cross up till now, how the hell do you cross? Whats the trick?

is it my sidewinder thats giving me problems with crosses. Well no I am playing in the pro level. I just played my first WC and I was winning 2-1 the damn game crashed
I can't make my players run in to open space also, just passing, pass, pass, pass, sprint, pass, all short passes and through passes for now.

About the crosses Yes your right I found them too easy after changing my tactics to wings but after I restarted the game it was like a different game ???? I think its because of the level...
P.S
The raptors dont change the level of the game !!!! maybe only up to pro but not to world class..
Wannabe 15-10-2003, 10:23:AM Hey gang, I'm currently playing of Pro.
I've used both AC & Juve, same thing.
Just gotta be real patient and make clever runs down the wing.
(Setting the 'wing play' strategy helps as the side midfielders play tighter to the side lines)
Anyways, if you cross one deep into the box (about 6 yards or less), about 20~25% of the time, the keeper just stands still while watching Shevchenko or Trezeguet heads it in point blank)
Another tip, if you hold on the the 'R2' button which makes your player walk real slow, the AI won't challenge you for at least 5 seconds, while you can send your players up the wing.
Career Mode Man:
I don't know, but i notice the difference from Semi-Pro to Pro, and I'm just sticking with pro so I can get a good feel of both offense and defense. Haven't tried world class yet.
PHANTOMPHOENIX 15-10-2003, 10:24:AM Actually I finding lobbing the ball over players pretty useful...especially once I draw out defenders to the wings with OTB....
I use OTB to get the striker to move towards the sideline...the defender follows....then pass it down the sideline to the striker who flicks it back into the middle where u will find the attacking mid running in.....:rockman:
Other than using OTB to move the strikers to the sideline....i don't use that often....its takes a while to get use to handling two players at once.
