So does anyone know any sites that give tips on things to do or eat? Or any tips at all...im looking to lose a lot of extra pounds in the 9 months ahead....im thinking of signing up to "Jenny Slimfast" or whatever the hell its called, our starting GK (200 pounds at the time) signed up in 10th grade and came back in 11th grade 160 or 170 pounds, and skinny as a motha****a.

I was on a diet for 6 months and I ended up losing 42 pounds. I bought myself a rowing-machine and did 1000 rows a day. I did about a 30 minute jog a day (or 1 hour playing football). Add 2 or 3 hours of walking.
About food, I found this part quite easy. Apparently, an adult male is supposed to eat 95g of fat a day, I was eating like 20g. Go to your supermarket and just get all those Low-Fat foods. (In England we have so,ething called "Be Good To Yourself".
I weighed 154 pounds. I weigh 112 now. And since I've continued with my rowing, I'm putting on more muscle so I weigh like 119.

Elder 17-10-2003, 07:41:PM Losing weight is a pain in the ass, but it's a very simple concept.
Step 1: Eat less junk food... like chips, and foods with a lot of sugar. Sugar turns into fat quicker than anything else. Don't cut junk out completely because then you will just crave it and binge. Just be smart with how you eat it. And don't worry about fat so much, it's CALORIES you have to worry about. Remember, 3,500 calories = 1 pound of fat.
Step 2: Lift some weights. The more muscle you have, and I am not talking being a huge bodybuilder here, the more calories you burn throughout the day just sitting around doing nothing.
Step 3: Do 30 minutes to one hour of cardio 4 days per week. Usually I go with 1 hour one day doing various cardio activities... say, jogging 30 minutes, sprints for 15, and run up some stairs for another 15. Next day is a day off or a 30 minute workout.. But make sure you rest!! If you don't, you will get burned out very quickly, get depressed and quit.
Hope that helps a bit. Just work your ass off and you will do fine. But be mindful that the weight won't disapear overnight, so set small goals and they are easy to reach.

AhmedK 18-10-2003, 03:03:AM i dont gain pounds that fast, im not fat but i am heavy....i dont look fat, im doing for my fitness on the pitch and so i have an ace up my sleeve come next season, they are cutting the team down from 45 this season to 32,which makes spots hard to find. However if i go back next season 160 down from 194( yes i know, but i still play on the team (H) ) im sure they will pick me over other people, because of my dedication and hardwork.

I got a gym in my apartment building so it is just a couple floors down, I started going everyday for 40 minutes 3 months ago and I went from skinny to muscular, I gained like 35 pounds in the 3 months by drinking 3 big cups of milk 20 minutes after workout.
