Basel is a formidable opponent.... held liverpool to a draw and drew us at OT.... valencia have the most simplest opponents i think...
steaua can upset liverpool..... these romanian teams have grit...

Not so sure anout Basel... My initial reaction was creap ... coz of the damage they did to english clubs last season... but this time round they don't seem to be as strong. we'll see.

Don't be so negative. You should see Bdx's record in UEFA over the past years. They've always gone out 2or 3 rd round against (with all due respect) lesser teams.

one's things sure ... i'm not gonna miss out seing a Scottish team in actioN !! I'll be THERE !!! :rockman:

would have prefered Bdx v Newcastle though

FC København (DEN) v RCD Mallorca (ESP)
Brøndby IF (DEN) v FC Schalke 04 (GER)

good draws for Denmark, both Mallorca and Schalke 04 is in a bad possesion in there leagues Mallorca(16th only one from relegation) and Schalke 04 (10th and they only won 1-0 in all over Kamen Ingrad) so a very good draw for the danish teams!!:rockman: :rockman: at least one is going through!:hump: HOPE FC COPENHAGEN!!:rockman:

We could've lost if van Nistelrooy didn't play in Basel, no one else on our team could score from *THAT* angle. :(

Bordeaux is not a great draw, but I agree that we should have faith Denis, they are sitting close to the bottom of the French league right now. A lesser team would have been better but at least we avoided some of the big guns like Barca and Roma.

We have a hard draw, but Le Tallec, Gerard and Owen will see us through  :lui:

That's a good draw for Levski. We'll probably lose but still, it's better than some of the other possibilities. The teams we could have drawn (in order from best to worst IMO):

1.Barcelona
2.Borussia Dortmund
3.Benfica
4.Manchester City
5.Slavia Praha
6.Dinamo Zagreb

Very nice draw for Steaua! I support them in the UEFA Cup now. Since I saw them play live and train at the stadium, where i was training and their assistant manager even gave me the UEFA badge to put on my key ring:rockman: :rockman: :rockman: ! Now that's what i call a very nice man! Beat 'em Steaua.

BTW they are the strongest european team (not counting internationals) i have seen right from the stadium.

Bordeaux are definitely beatable, but we need to be all guns blazing to be able to. Despite losing people like Pauleta and stuff they are still a very good team.

Hopfeully we can send a wake up call to their fans who think it'll be a walkover by putting on a show against sellik :)

Maccabi Haifa are probably the best Israeli team, but the only reason they beat ManU 3-0 last year is because they were playing against ManU reserves.

Basel vs. Newcastle could be interesting.

Basel by far has the best attendance of all Swiss clubs and if NUFC could lose to Partizan Belgrade they could definitely lose to Basel.

I think NUFC will end up winning but it could be interesting.
