ogsimon 24-10-2003, 03:49:PM Looka likely that arsenal could be signing kluivert on loan depsite publicly denying it.

At the bottom of this article it still says arsenal are after etoo
Andrew 24-10-2003, 03:54:PM I think him and HEnry would be a killer front line. God i hope Man Utd or the Arse sign him coz i wanna see how he goes in the EPL
finger 24-10-2003, 04:19:PM He could be the missing link for Arsenal.
Wiltord, Bergkamp and Kanu.
All big strikers who have failed to have an impact of late.
Kluivert could be the perfect partner for Arsenal.
ShearerM4 24-10-2003, 04:38:PM I think Kluivert would be a great player in the EPL ...
he already is and would be awesome here .... but for whom ??
:brow:
KoreaJjang 24-10-2003, 04:45:PM Cool but i think it's not going to happen...IF it happened den Arsenal will be very good at Champions league too
yeah
kluivert an awesome striker!
PaPaGeorGeo 24-10-2003, 05:25:PM That seems like a good option then we can sign him in the summer
jigger37 24-10-2003, 05:32:PM id rather have eto'o,but on a short term basis he could breathe some new life into our attack cos a change of scenery might do him some good.
Fernandez 24-10-2003, 06:09:PM kluivert cant play with arsenal in the CL because he played in UEFA Cup with barca.... we saw the partnership of the future during thursday's champions league show.... Shearvert....
ogsimon 24-10-2003, 06:30:PM they are two different competitions, he can still play in the champions league
jigger37 24-10-2003, 06:41:PM r u sure? cos i dont think so.
Fernandez 24-10-2003, 06:46:PM yeah, dacourt paly for leeds in uefa cup last season and could not play for roma in CL...
panxoman 24-10-2003, 07:14:PM kluivert didn't play the second match againt Puchov. I don't remeber if he played the first one.
Anyway, haven't heard anything about this in Barcelona press. there's not much sense in a loan when the transfer is only 1.8 M euros.... Kluivert seems to be very interested in Arsenal. It seems to be his faviourite option right now, tomorrow that may change...
Latest news here are that Chelsea could be again after kluivert and would have offered Hasselbaink on loan until june.
panxoman 24-10-2003, 07:20:PM yes he played, and even scored :o !!!!!!!!!!! , in the first match.
So he couldn't play CL with Arsenal
Fernandez 24-10-2003, 07:22:PM its amazing how one match can prevent a player from moving to another club... koeman did that to us by playing trabelsi...
soccerbest 24-10-2003, 07:34:PM Barcelona striker Patrick Kluivert has played down speculation that he could be set for a move to The Premiership with Arsenal.
The Dutch international has been strongly linked with a move away from Camp Nou in January when the transfer window re-opens, but Kluivert insists he is going nowhere.
Reports in Spain claim Arsenal are very keen to sign the former Milan and Ajax ace and Newcastle also made enquiries for his signature, but the skilful hit-man has ruled out a move to England.
Kluivert, who has become a target for the Barcelona boo-boys this season, held clear the air talks with Barca officials on Thursday and they have assured him he is not for sale.
"I have not spoken to Arsenal, or to any other Premiership club," said Kluivert.
"There is no chance of my moving to The Premiership in the near future."
Dream Team 24-10-2003, 08:00:PM Kluivert doesn't want to leave barcelona, but in barcelona he is not necessary.
Kluivert is a good player playing with a scorer, not like scorer.
A loan of a player valued in 1.8m sounds ridiculous for a club like Arsenal.
He would be great at Arsenal
who would they play with ( Barclona that is)
Saviola + ?
Elder 25-10-2003, 01:59:AM Kluivert would be great with Arsenal or any England team in my opinion. He knows how to head the ball with deadly accuracy, and that is just what the english game is all about.
SB9Dragon 25-10-2003, 03:32:AM Kluivert matching up with Henry? I guess it could work:confused: But IMO I would expect it being a player switcharoo.... maybe Kanu for Kluivert?? Wouldn't be a bad switch if I do say so myself:D
panxoman 25-10-2003, 03:42:AM why switching? kluivert only costs 1.8 M euros.
Jedi Mind Trick 25-10-2003, 03:43:AM what are kluivert's wages anyways? i heard it was like 100,000 pounds. wow..
Dream Team 25-10-2003, 04:36:AM Around 4-5 million € per year without taxes...

His Release Clause Changes to 1.2 million pounds at the end of the season at the moment it is still 25mill
It will be strange for me to see him other than a Barca jersey
he has made himself memorable to me with Barca
PaPaGeorGeo 25-10-2003, 06:14:AM Kluivert is very unlikely

yes, but Barcelona accepts the only 1.8 M euros clause now.
it would be ridiculous to wait until June to get 1.8 M and pay him beteen 4-5 M salary, if you can get them now and avoid paying this salary.
The salary is without taxes, so that means that the club has to pay 8 -10 Milions after taxes.
no team would pay more than 1.8 M either... :(
panxoman 25-10-2003, 03:47:PM barcelona press puts kluivert closer to arsenal today.
about the article above:
wegner says:
"Should we lose a player like Thierry Henry, then I would say, `yes, we are in desperate situation'. But even if we lose him, I cannot tell you who could replace him"
Do I understand it correct if I think he's saying that arsenal will lisen offers for Henry? Is that right?
just a question for arsenal fans: why the hell were you in such a need of moving to a new stadium?
PaPaGeorGeo 25-10-2003, 03:53:PM He was just joking around if we were to sell Henry we would have enough money to find a suitable replacement if there is one
panxoman 25-10-2003, 04:04:PM ok, ok
and why is so necessary to build another stadium?
If 1.8 M euros is quite a lot that means no new great players next year either.

He means if Henry gets injured, not sold.
Arsenal will never sell Henry.
And we need a new stadium because Highbury is crap.
ogsimon 25-10-2003, 06:05:PM i think south america is the answer their players are cheap
