Giovanni1 25-10-2003, 12:25:AM Hi,I downloaded the CM4 demo yesterday and I have a few questions about it.
When I play the demo it takes me a huge amount of time to get to the next game.The score updates are so slow it's impossible,I finish my game and press continue and it starts to load,updating and calculating all the scores of the other teams and it takes like 6-8 mins just for the scores of the english teams.
Then there's the international games,the under 19s,Champions league matches,African cup etc...It takes me around 20-25 mins !just getting past all those scores and my team isn't even on any of those competitions.Sure I'd like to see the scores of other matches but not at the expense of 25mins.
I played for like 5-6 hours yesterday and managed to play only 10 matches,I remember in other managers I could finish the season in 6 hours.
So is there anything I could do about this,is it supposed to be like this,is it improved in the full version and how could I improve the speed?

theres a few things you can do, you could get a better pc. lol.
Turn the sound off, this speeds the game up, turning backgroung changes off also speeds up the game.
If you actually buy the game then once you have downloaded EP5, the game is slightly faster, oh, and dont have too many leagues on.
As for question two, Gung Ho basically means all out attack, offence offfence offence. Its an English saying.

PSVFOREVER 25-10-2003, 03:13:AM In CM if I play 6 hours in a row I can play a season too. But often during CM I go on internet and then it takes longer because I 'forget to click continue game:D
just dont go on the net anyway when playing CM, it drastically reduces the speed and it ALWAYS crashes after a while. im on a 56k bw, dont know if ADSL effects it.

rpvankasteren 25-10-2003, 04:00:AM It never crashed for me, not because of the connection anyways. My connection is always open.
i get broadband on monday, after that ill see it it crashes on me.

Giovanni1 25-10-2003, 07:35:AM How do I turn off some of the leagues and how do I prevent injuries from happening,I seem to have a player injured after every match and my physio's seem fine so what's the problem?

N0! Its not similar. Have you read the features thread in SI Forums? If not, go here (http://community.sigames.com/6/ubb.x?a=tpc&s=21019056&f=39919517&m=78710163) . Yeah they did also provide a screenshot.
Anyway, if anyone wants to try the demo for CM 03/04, it is'nt out yet (but lately, I've heard that if you buy the latest mag for CM, its there, dont know if its true though)

CM4 demo is very buggy, I recommend if you really love this game, buy it and download EP5 ;)

yeah, but they use the same engine, CM4 was released earlier this year for about 39.99. CM03/04 will hopefully be released on the 21st of November, also costing around the same price.
Think of it as CM3>CM99/00>CM00/01>CM01/02

It's impossible how slow the CM4 demo is,it takes me like 5 mins just to load my saved game.I remember the older managers games loaded and saved in 2secs and hardly took time to calculate the scores,not more than 10 secs.
So shouldn't the newer versions be even faster?
I have a P3 600 and although that's a pretty old comp it shouldn't matter much because this is a manager game it's not some kind of game that requires a lot of resources and has good graphics.
I don't have a 3d a card but I don't think that should change anything in a manager game so why is it so sloooow??
I'm losing so much time because of it I can't even continue playing it...
rpvankasteren 26-10-2003, 04:10:AM This game sucks up memory. It runs fine on my 2.6 GHz with 768 Mb RAM, but runs slower on my dad's 3 GHz with 512 Mb RAM.

oh dont go down that road, there is a lot of stuff CM has to process, but yes, it is essentially a glorified spreadsheet, but Excel takes ages to load on my pc :p ;)

rpvankasteren 26-10-2003, 04:23:AM It's the xml skins. They scrounge the bytes away. Of course the huge database is a factor if you select a lot of leagues.
128 is really really low. It might just be under the minimum specifications.

rpvankasteren 26-10-2003, 04:31:AM I got mine at a music store, but they never have more than 3 copies per game. Amazon seems to be really cheap, though. Might get 03/04 and TCM 2004 there.

Because I have a ****ty monitor and a ****ty videocard so when I play CM the game isn't full screen and it kind of blinks os my eyes start to hurt after awhile lol...
