View Full Version : Are Man Utd fans stupid?
Paolo_Rossi 16-03-2000, 04:23:PM So they beat Fiorentina, one of the weakest team in serie A this year.I felt sorry for that poor Batistuta knowing that he plays with a group of overrated players when infact they all suck.As for Man Utd ,they still didnt have competion in their group.Wait till they go in the next round and face teams like Barcelona or Lazio, thats whats real competition ,not teams like Valencia and Fiorentina .
Zambrotta 16-03-2000, 04:34:PM I'm not so sure about Lazio making it...
and Fiorentina one of the Serie A's weakest teams??? Go ask Parma...
Cantona07 16-03-2000, 05:04:PM Manu can take on anybody
if memory serves me correctly manu v barce were the best two games of champions league
manu did not back of from the catalan giants once, and were in control both games, barce squeaked out a tie at old trafford due to a rivaldo dive, so i wouldnt put it as manu getting destroyed by barce, both teams have too much respect for eachother. and the yorke cole combination one of the sweetest goals of last year.
however dont get me wrong barce are very explosive figo one of my faves can take on anybody and rivaldo is always a threat even off his game.
i would like to see the rematch barce v manu but then again who wouldnt???
manu as i said will defend their cup
oh and lazio dont look all that great anymore
i know that little inzaghi is good but allowing him to score 4 goals please!!!
i dont feel lazio can do the job, they dont play well at all, this is lazio, awesome players best in the world, but poor team!!!
they wont win at old trafford!!!
manu will defend thier cup
Batistuta 16-03-2000, 05:40:PM I think BatiGOL tries too hard. He's way to good to be playing in Fiorentina. I mean I really like Fiorentina and stuff but they weren't all that impressive yesterday and BatiGOL looked really disappointed at the end of the match...especially after that thriller opening goal by him! He really deserves to play with a top class team!!!
Greetings from the man called BatiGOL!!!
fotballFrelst 16-03-2000, 07:27:PM LAZIO? HA!
Listen up, ManU is a great team and we're not afraid of meetin' any team, be it Barcelona or be it Charlton Athletic!
We would all be very happy if we could meet Barca in the Q.Finals,l coz we have some of the best players in the world, and we're not afraid of meeting that pitiful Rivaldo (be great to have him in United...).
Becks7 16-03-2000, 10:50:PM all I have to say..... YOU HAVE TO BE GOOD TO BE LUCKY.... oh, and Man Utd will defend their cup!
Drinky UKSN 16-03-2000, 10:55:PM Frelst - 'we're not afraid of meeting that pitiful Rivaldo (be great to have him in United...).' - He's pitiful and yet you want him at United? Contradiction! ;-)
On the whole, Manchester United fans aren't stupid - they just like success more than the actual game of football, so will immediately follow United. Its actually a good way to get into the game, as United undoubtedly play one of the most attractive styles of football in the game. I can name several people who simply grow out of United and start supporting other teams, having been drawn to supporting the game by them. Whatever criticism that you lay at United, they are great ambassadors for the sport, and have taken it to places that we'd never have thought possible just a few decades ago.
Cantona07 17-03-2000, 05:26:AM drinky your a dumb bullock kiddo
if this was about liverpool i feel your feelings would be different
is it my fault you guys signed heskey
good player? far from it, one good game for england and hes worth 11 m i wouldnt have wastes a coupon on that guy
manu will defend thier title
liverpool very lucky if they qualify for champions league
ChristianVieri 17-03-2000, 06:09:AM Man Utd were extremely lucky last year to win Champions League, and English Cup(remember game vs Arsenal when Bergkamp missed his penalty)They played against awful Inter and Juve last year and were extremely lucky vs Baern in the final. But this year will be different.
Remember when Man Utd lost to Lazio in Super Cup(1-0,though it could be more)and to strugglers Marselle(1-0}as well as to strugglers Fiorentina{2-0)in Champions League. They are not so impressive as they were last yare, aren't they?
PolishPower 17-03-2000, 07:39:AM The way I remember it he didn't miss it, but Schmeichel saved it, there is a difference...
Daniel 17-03-2000, 11:02:AM We have to agree that Man Utd's 3-1 victory was their first good game they played this season in the champions league. All other games were awful, for instance, any arrogant Man U fan should agree both their ties against Bordeaux were awful, and on both occations Man U was certainly not by far the strongest. Barca has by far been the best team, and until now deserves to win. if it is possible, a barca-man utd showdown would be the best final, where everyone would love to see Barca kick Man Utd's lucky a$$es once and for good.
Kewell the Jewell 17-03-2000, 01:47:PM Cantona 07
"s it my fault you guys signed heskey good player? far from it, one good game for england and hes worth 11 m i wouldnt have wastes a coupon on that guy"
Retard if he played for England he must have be fairly good to get selected and start ahead of your mate Cole..........
Neutral 17-03-2000, 02:36:PM Cantona mate, you need to calm down.
"is it my fault you guys signed heskey
good player? far from it, one good game for england and hes worth 11 m i wouldnt have wastes a coupon on that guy"
- Where did that come from? Heskey's not good? I thought he was pretty amazing this past season and at 22 he has a tremendous upside - give him a chance. You wouldn't waste a coupon on that guy? Sounds like the same thing Ferguson said when he told reporters he wouldn't pay 500,000 for Robbie Keane.......and let's not forget the most expensive keeper EVER in Britain - 4.5 million for the MIGHTY Massimo Taibi, who now spends his time on lone at Reggia because no other team will buy him....
manu will defend thier title
- Yep that's a safe bet.
liverpool very lucky if they qualify for champions league
- Yes, just like Man U were lucky to win the European Cup last year when they were outplayed by Bayern, just like they were lucky that Berkamp missed that 90th minute penalty.....and do I have to remind you of many of your fellow Man U supporters mantra - "you have to be good to be lucky"
I think 3rd place (where they are now) for a team that was without their first choice striking pair and captain for almost the entire season isn't bad. Neither is beating Arsenal twice, Leeds twice, Chelsea once so far, outshooting Manchester United 24-6 at Anfield and outshooting (and not to mention outsinging) them 6-3 at Old Trafford. Don't forget Liverpool's entire back 4 which collectively cost less than Jaap Stam, and have the best defensive record in England.
Ok, now it's your turn to call me a 'dumb bollock kiddo'
http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif
Cantona07 17-03-2000, 05:06:PM kewell buddy where have you been
i dont know how you can hold your head up now that bowyer and woodgate have not only disgraced team and country but they might be sacked from leeds LOL
heskey is not better than cole in anyway
cole doesnt get selected for england because the coaches dont give him a chance, one good game and heskey is worth 11m cmon!!!
however my eyes have opened to how kewell gets better everygame
neutral lol i know taibi was a toal waste of funds you got me there
hopefully manu can bring in dudek
but people lets not say manu wont win it they have just as good as a chance as do the catalan giants, sure barce looks like a machine out there, toying around with teams, but when class plays class its a whole diff story!!!
heres a little prophecy and dont get me wrong bayern are a great team but i see em being upset next round, everything is going to smoothly for them, but time will tell
portugal2004 17-03-2000, 07:08:PM ManU playing at home against Fiorentina the Italian side had no chance, because ManU vs any Italian side at home are 1000-1, they only lost once at home in their lifetime to an Italian side and that was in 96 against Juve 1-0.
Becks7 17-03-2000, 07:38:PM Kewell, you can't possibly be comparing Emile Heskey to Andy Cole? Please! Cole is one of the most consistent goal scorers in all of Europe... check the stats, every year Cole gets his more than fair share of goals..... the fact that Keegan picked Heskey ahead of Cole in an almost meaningless friendly doesn't mean jack s**t.
Becks7 17-03-2000, 07:43:PM And one more thing, Polish Power said it right.... Bergkamp didn't miss, Schmeichel saved it... no luck there, sorry.
And as for the saying "you have to be good to be lucky" (as opposed to "you have to be lucky to be good")... you can cry all you want, the fact is United won the Champion's League last year.... should they have? probably not if Bayern hadn't crushed under the pressure.... but the question is: did they win? the answer is obviously YES... so please stop wasting my time saying United are lucky this and that.... it's a load of crap and you know it.
[This message has been edited by Becks7 (edited 03-17-2000).]
Drinky UKSN 17-03-2000, 09:37:PM Cole will never play ahead of Heskey in an England game under Keegan. Fact.
Heskey is a team player - he is not all about goals. Rather than being a selfish goal-hunter, he has pace and a physical presence that no other player in England has. Cole's finishing is up there with the best, but not as good as Owen, Shearer or Fowler. If Heskey can create chances, we only need one striker, which should be Fowler, post Euro 2000.
Put it this way - ask one hundred Man Utd fans whether they'd swap Andy Cole or Dwight Yorke for a fully fit Robbie Fowler, and the scouser would get at least 75% of the vote.
Neutral 17-03-2000, 09:58:PM (ahem) Becks mate;
"so please stop wasting my time saying United are lucky this and that.... it's a load of crap and you know it."
And this is what you said earlier;
"all I have to say..... YOU HAVE TO BE GOOD TO BE LUCKY!"
You you first say they're lucky, and then you say it's a load of crap to say they're lucky.
Lucky, Unlucky?
I think you should think before you write, or leave the writing to Cantona07.
As for Andy Cole....no matter what I say, nor how polite I say it, you'll still tell me to f*** off, or make fun of my mother or something like that, so I'll just say it once, and prepare for the backlash:
Andy Cole isn't crap, but he isn't near the best striker in England - he's just mediocre. The 'Baby Faced Assasin' and Yorke are quality strikers - Cole and Sheringham on the other hand are mediocre (Teddy is past his prime). The only reason Cole scores so many goals is because United have one of the best midfields in the world - who couldn't score with crosses comming in from the left from Giggs, and crosses comming in from the right from Beckham, and having the ball driven right down the middle by Keane?
But I'm glad you and Alex Ferguson don't believe me, I'm glad you revere him so, because the idea of United getting a REAL striker to complement Yorke frightens me. I'm so glad Ferguson chose not to get Salas a few years ago because if he did.....(shudder)...
As for Cole not playing for England you also have to look at his attitude - he and his agent complain that his non-selection for England hurts his chances or sponsorship deals, he insults the England captain, he insulted many more in his biography, he hasn't been on speaking terms with his OWN CLUB TEAMATE (Teddy Sheringham) for more than two years, and he's widely known to be a complete prat - is this the man you want playing for England - ANDY '6-Yard Punisher' COLE?
Yeah, maybe, if England could get Giggs, Yorke, and Keane to play for the national team as well.....
Phillips is the leading scorer in England, Shearer has been banging in the goals at club and international level for years, Owen was the leading scorer in the Premiership the last two years, and last year he was injured for the last 7 games, and was still tied for first, Robbie Fowler has had two 35 goal seasons, and both Owen and Fowler played on Liverpool teams that WERE vastly inferior to United (though not now), and Heskey has been making Tony Cottee look like a 19 year old goal machine the past 3 years at Leicester City.
But why am I trying to convince you otherwise? No, no, I'm lying really, yes, stick with Cole, you don't want that bloke who plays in Italy, what's his name? Batigol or something? Nah, you don't want HIM, he's CRAP.
Ok, go ahead, make fun of my mother....
[This message has been edited by Neutral (edited 03-17-2000).]
Daniel 17-03-2000, 11:00:PM Concerning England, put definitely Heskey in, make Cole a bench-warmer. Heskey creates chances for others and scores himself. Cole, doubt it, he only wants to be match-winner, Cole should never be put in the England team, even Sheringham should start before him.
PolishPower 18-03-2000, 07:47:AM Polish tv reported today that that Man U will be getting Jurek Dudek for 12Mil Pounds, the spokesman for Man U is denying this report however. Just thought you'd like to know...
Also it's not really true that Cole never scores good goals, remember the scissor kick goal from edge of penalty area last year?
PhilWalsh 18-03-2000, 01:34:PM Hey Drinky UKSN
you said that andy cole is selfish and emile heskey is a team player?!
well...a good striker HAS to be selfish sometimes otherwise he wouldn´t score goals!
and if you look at heskey´s goal scoring record and compare that to andy cole´s record i think that you will think twice about wich of them 2 is better!!!!!
and by the way..I thought that this topic was
"are manutd FANS stupid"
FANS is something different than the TEAM!!!
man utd will defend their cup because theyn are the best!!
maybe you would like to know that beckham had his hair cut really short.
Drinky UKSN 18-03-2000, 03:25:PM But Emile Heskey's role in the England team is not to score goals, as I said in the rest of my post. Please read it all before making obvious comments. England have three selfish strikers - they now need one man to play with them who can give them the positions to be selfish in.
Neutral 18-03-2000, 07:07:PM (sigh)
Drinky UKSN 18-03-2000, 08:50:PM If Cole doesn't play I will sigh a huge sigh of relief that he hasn't been able to barge into the squad simply by playing for United. He is behind Shearer, Owen, Fowler, Heskey, Phillips and possibly Sheringham in the England pecking order, and no amount of whinging from United's fans will change that. In fact, can you please do the rest of the footballing world a favour and just stop whining for once?
PhilWalsh 18-03-2000, 10:05:PM Oh by the way
this is quite a stupid topic and i think that we manutd fans just shouldn´t react to sad people like paolo_rossi who set up some kind of stupid topic!!!!!
are manutd fans stupid?
-NO!!
is paolo_rossi stupid?
-YES!
Drinky UKSN 18-03-2000, 10:20:PM I think he's trying to make a point about the way Manchester United have proclaimed themselves to be the greatest team on earth ever, when they quite obviously cannot lay claim to that.
Cantona07 18-03-2000, 10:36:PM where do you get off saying stuff about united
first off your liverpool aint that great and there posistion in the tables show that
why can you not accpet manu being a better team than they are
it takes a great team to win the premier it takes an even better team to win the fa cup
and it takes the best to win the chamions league
have manu done all the above yes so we can talk all the sh!t we want becuz our team is at the top for now
when liverpool win the treble you can be as arrogant as you want!!!!
astolfo 18-03-2000, 11:42:PM of course they are stupid... if they weren't stupid they wouldn't be Man Utd fans
Neutral 19-03-2000, 02:04:AM Cantona,
When or where, did Drinky ever say that Liverpool are a better team than Man U, come to think of it, when did he even compare them?
"why can you not accpet manu being a better team than they [Liverpool] are"
Why do his opinions on Andy Cole and how he should be low on the England striker pecking order have anything to do with Liverpool and Man U?
YOU, brought up Liverpool, YOU brought up the comparision, and created an imaginary conflict - stop being so paranoid.
"manu done all the above yes so we can talk all the sh!t we want"
Yes mate, sometimes all you talk is sh!t (pity really)
http://www.soccergaming.com/ubb/smile.gif
As for being Man U being the greatest team ever.....(sigh)
Best team in England - This year yes
Best team in Europe - Last year yes, this year, I'd have to put them up there.
Best team in the World - hmmm, why couldn't they beat Vasco then?
[Cue the backlash]
[This message has been edited by Neutral (edited 03-18-2000).]
Cantona07 19-03-2000, 06:28:AM if heskey is not there to score goals what a waste of time he is to england and keegan what the heck are you talking about
you say you would rather have heskey rather than a greedy goal hunting cole
isnt soccer about socring more goals than your opposition?
cole is a way more complete striker since his days for the mag pies, cole is better and is known as one of englands best strikers.
heskey mearly had one good game, i dont see him winning games for his team, but on the other hand cole has been in top form this year but still does not get a chance to play for the nation.
if cole doesnt play its englands loss not his!!!
Kewell the Jewell 19-03-2000, 11:30:AM Drinky, Neutral
dont bother arguing with Cantona 07 i tried and realised it was a waste of time.....
all he does is harp on about how good Man U are......
its like he doesnt even read what youre writing
Cantona07 20-03-2000, 01:44:AM i luv that fact kewell that you are more mature
than the hooligans that play for leeds
thats gonna look great leeds boys sent to jail as leeds challenge for premier crumbles
thanks for the laughs
Neutral 20-03-2000, 02:28:AM Yeah you're right Kewell, it is like he doesnt even read what you're writing....
Cantona07 20-03-2000, 06:01:AM why cant manu fans show there pride for there team eh neutral
and when we do we get called glory supporters and crap like that!
im proud of united and i wont let some guy say manu wont win cuz i believe they will win the euro cup
you just dont give em a chance compared to the barces and lazios
mind you lazio just lost to verona!!!!
read this manu will defend thier cup
manu are on a tear they took apart fiorentina and please dont say they did not cuz you know nothing about the game if you do
manu is looking better and better
Kewell the Jewell 20-03-2000, 12:33:PM Oi Cantona!!!!
Trsut you to resort to some cheap shot bout the Woodgate Boyer incident!!!!
hahaha youre the one who makes me laugh with your sad comebacks....
"leeds challenge for premier crumbles thanks for the laughs"
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Challenge for the premier crumbles!?!?!?!?!
look over your shoulder and look whos behind you!!!!!
Unbeaten in 7 games Euro and PL!!!!!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Thanks for the laughs mate!!!!
Cantona07 20-03-2000, 03:46:PM leeds unbeaten in uefa big whoop
and in league we beat ya your last loss remember
manu are in champions league not a weaker competition that you guys seem to thrive on
winning uefa wont get you anywhere
however playing and even winning the champions league is more prestigious
and with bowyer and woodgate out of the picture my comment of no debt becomes stronger i dont think leeds can survive with out those two!!!!
Canoe 20-03-2000, 08:08:PM Paul Rossi- You still looking for the answer to this topic or has someone already answered that for you ?
Cantona7 - Yes I know I'm a (_put your insult here_), I'm sorry I don't love Man utd , I do apologise, but for the love of ferguson would you buy a dictionary and attend a few english classes and learn how to type properly.
I have no debt in my mend that yu kan du it !
Drinky UKSN 20-03-2000, 08:28:PM Since when did I mention Liverpool? Good to see that United fans still have their paranoia...
You want a biased statement? Cheltenham Town are better than Manchester United. True? Of course not, but that is on a par with the 'best in the world' statements made by most Manchester United fans who exaggerate their teams performance. Do you see?
PAOK F.C. Fan 21-03-2000, 06:51:AM yes
Kewell the Jewell 21-03-2000, 10:49:AM cantona how are Woodgate and Bowyer out of the picture??
not until they are guilty are they gonna be sacked and out of the picture...
they have been out of the picture lately because Woody has a calf injury picked uo against Coventry and Bowyer was rested against Wimbledon......
and Bowyer was replaced by Hopkin who is back to first team action.....
Leeds midfield is looking better and better!!
Wilcox, Macphail, Bowyer, Bakke, Hopkin, Jones and Batty when he returns from injury (not likely this year)
not bad eh?
