so far in 2 days i've been able to play 1 game online, whenever i select play now, challenge someone in the lobby or join a tournament i always get CONNECTION TO THE OTHER PLAYER HAS FAILED
i've been part of the european beta tests since it started and have never had problems playing any online games
i'm behind a firewall but i've tried disabling it and it's still the same, and am connected using ics so there's no router

is anybody not having problems playing online?
if so what setup you using?

I have the same problem as you fish, although i managed to play one game yesterday.

I've even uninstalled my Firewall but i still get 'cannot connect to other player' come up.

+ Tried ringing them up but they arent open at the moment.

+ Looked at the help section and makes no sence to me.

i had a similar problem and it took me months to get it fixed and ea suppost didnt do **** to help me i had to do it all by myself

when you connect the ps2 to go online.. do you reset your modem?

i had to open like 20 different ports and DMZ my router

it should say in the manual what ports you need to have open

no it doesnt......u have to call ea they give u the port numbers and thats about all theyu do as :drevil: help :drevil: you

i heard about using this DMZ.. but I don't use a router with ICS though.. this doesn't make sence to me :(

thats kinda dumb... I know in the pc version last yr.. the ports you needed open were in the manual.. it was port 2048 in both tcp and udp.

have u tried turning the modem off when you connect your ps2.. and turn it back on.. ? I have xbox live.. and when I turn the xbox on I have to restart my cable modem for it to work properly

i know............they do put them on the online news once enough people have complained about it though but itll take a while till that happens

I just tried that, still doesn't work!! Though my xbox live works fine.

TCP 13505: this is used by BuddyList/IM server
TCP 10400 - 10499
TCP 443: used to access Sony DNAS server. This is a standard https port
UDP 3658/3659: these are the main game ports
UDP 6000/6001: VOIP ports

maybe they haven't setup them servers properly, yet. just give it time. a couple of days maybe.
